QB Campbell to stay with 'Skins, for now

Published Apr. 12, 2010 1:00 a.m. ET

With the recent addition of quarterback Donovan McNabb to the Washington Redskins, attention has turned to the status of incumbent starter Jason Campbell.

Campbell, a restricted free agent, signed his 1-year, $3.1 million-plus tender Monday.

By signing his tender, he is removed from the NFL's restricted free-agent market and the Redskins can now trade Campbell under the terms of his current deal.

While there hasn't been anything more than casual interest in Campbell thus far, a potential trade would be more likely closer to the draft or on draft day.

Campbell has stopped attending voluntary workouts at Redskins Park and is not expected to attend this weekend's three-day minicamp.
