'Hard Knocks' still looking for a team
HBO's "Hard Knocks" is ready for a seventh season, but is still in the market for an NFL team willing to be featured on the reality program.
According to ESPN, the Atlanta Falcons declined to appear on the show after more than a week of mulling the offer, ultimately viewing it as too much of a distraction.
The show, which follows an NFL team through training camp and the preseason, is coming off its most successful installment, when the New York Jets and foul-mouthed head coach Rex Ryan were featured in 2010.
"Hard Knocks" did not air in 2011 due to the lockout.
The return of the Jets is still a possibility, with owner Woody Johnson in favor of the team making another appearance. But the interest is reportedly not shared this time around by Ryan, who is said to be wary of injecting even more hoopla into training camp following the highly publicized trade for Tim Tebow.
The Jacksonville Jaguars have expressed interest in being on the show as a way to generate enthusiasm among its fans after years of lackluster ticket sales.
The network has also looked into featuring both the Ravens and 49ers in order to focus on the Harbaugh brothers, with John coaching Baltimore and Jim in San Francisco.
HBO was keen to have the Peyton Manning-led Broncos on the show, but the team was not interested, according to FOX Sports.
