Report: Lin happy for Tebow in New York

Jeremy Lin is thrilled that fellow sensation Tim Tebow is now a Jet.

"It's awesome. I'm just excited for him and to see what he does," Lin said after delivering a huge fourth quarter in the Knicks' 82-79 win over the 76ers on Wednesday night. "We'll see what happens next year, but I'm excited obviously that he's going to be in New York."

Lin has dealt with Linsanity since his shock emergence weeks ago, and while Tebow is a veteran of his own Tebow-mania in Denver, the former Bronco now will have to handle fame on a different scale in New York City.

Lin revealed his own method. "Everyone gave me some advice — they said, 'Make sure not to read the papers,'" Lin told reporters, laughing. "But I don't want to say that to offend you guys. But that's what I've been told. I don't really read anything. I think it helps me."

Lin said he was not in touch with Tebow during Wednesday's trade-talk frenzy involving the Jets and Broncos, adding that he does not have a close relationship with the quarterback.

Of course, that could change after Tebow begins Tebowing with Gang Green.

"I've only talked to him, like, once," Lin said. "But he's a great guy from everything I hear, and the conversation I had with him was great, as well."
