Jerry Jones and Cowboys an awards show punchline

Published Apr. 6, 2014 8:41 p.m. ET

There was Jerry Jones at Sunday night's Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas, sitting among country's beautiful people. Why was the Dallas Cowboys owner hanging out near Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert and Co.?

The ACM Awards show is moving to Jones' Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, next year, so that gave Jones the chance to get his mug on camera once again. Jones was introduced, and it sounded like a mixed reaction at the MGM Grand.

Then co-hosts Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan had the chance to do a little routine tweaking the Cowboys.

Shelton said: "You don't see many awards shows in Cowboys Stadium." Bryan responded: "You don't see any playoff games there, either!"
