The son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor has been arrested in Georgia on charges of statutory rape, aggravated child molestation and sodomy/aggravated sodomy.

Lawrence Julius Taylor, born in 1981, remains in custody in Cobb County, Ga. Taylor, listed as 6-foot-1 and 230 pounds on the booking report, was arrested at 5:26 a.m. ET on Sunday. He was charged at an address different than the one listed as his home. There is no attorney on file listed and no bail has been set.

According to the New York Daily News, Taylor is accused of forcibly performing oral sex on a girl described as “under 18 years old” in Powder Springs, Ga. According to that report, a second girl “described in court papers as under 16 years old, told police she had had sex with Taylor Jr. ‘5 to 6 times’ in February 2012, leading to the statutory rape charge.”

In 2012, two-time Super Bowl champion Lawrence Taylor won a court case in which a woman claimed that “he assaulted her by failing to recognize her distress when he had sex with her in a hotel room when she was 16,” according to an Associated Press report at the time. The verdict followed a trial in which the former New York Giants linebacker reportedly testified that “he had sex with a 'very, very pretty' prostitute in 2010” but he denied accusations that he ignored signs she was a teen runaway or had been beaten prior to the encounter, which took place in a New York hotel room.

''I feel for what she has gone through,'' Taylor later told the AP about the encounter, adding he wished that he had known what was going on with her. ''At the time, I wasn't a bad person, and if I had known what was going on, I would have helped her. I hope the best for her.''
