LeSean McCoy rips into Knowshon Moreno

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 11:04 p.m. ET

Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy is now in his fifth season in the NFL, but it seems he may still be holding a grudge against the other running backs in his draft class.

See, McCoy was selected in the second round with the 53rd overall pick in the 2009 draft, behind three other backs — Knowshon Moreno (12th), Donald Brown (27th) and Beanie Wells (31st).

And in the past he has given the indication that the perceived snub may have left him with a bit of a chip on his shoulder:

So on Sunday, when ESPN’s Skip Bayless tweeted about Moreno’s impressive performance against the Dallas Cowboys, McCoy’s reply was in line with his previous remarks about the Denver Broncos star.

That’s cool and all, and I get that professional football players aren’t the most modest bunch. But perhaps there’s a better time for smack-talking than just hours after gaining just 46 yards on 20 carries in your own game — especially when the guy you’re ripping is running for 93 yards and a score.

Or maybe going forward, Shady should just limit his criticism to Brown and Wells, since those guys actually do suck.
