Published Oct. 27, 2013 1:00 a.m. ET

Initial tests on Dolphins WR Brandon Gibson revealed he suffered a season-ending knee injury in Sunday's game vs. the Patriots. The injury is believe to be a torn patella tendon.

Gibson was hurt late in the first quarter Sunday.

The Dolphins were leading 7-0 at the time following a 4-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Tannehill to Gibson.

Gibson entered the game with 29 receptions, second-most on the Dolphins, and two touchdown receptions, both coming the previous Sunday in a 23-21 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
