NFL prospect: I can stop Megatron
As an NFL cornerback, confidence is part of the game, but draft prospect Johnthan Banks may be getting ahead of himself.
The Mississippi State product says he can cover the NFL’s best wide receiver, the Detroit Lions' Calvin Johnson. Banks was considered a first-round prospect until he ran a 4.61 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine.
“I think I can play against anybody. I can own anybody,” Banks told Al.com. “I think I can cover Megatron.”
Banks may need to improve his speed if he hopes to take down Johnson. The Lions WR ran a 4.35 40-yard dash coming out of Georgia Tech in 2007. Banks is known for his physical play on the outside, but Johnson is a mismatch for any defensive back.
Banks stands at 6-foot-2, 185 pounds, while Johnson is listed at 6-foot-5, 236 pounds.
