Mourners gather at Belcher's funeral

DIX HILLS, N.Y. (AP)

Several hundred mourners have gathered for the funeral of Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher near his hometown on Long Island.

TRAGEDY IN KANSAS CITY

The 25-year-old Belcher shot and killed his girlfriend and then himself Dec. 1. He was remembered Wednesday for the accomplishments in his life.

A photo slide show playing on a large screen at the front of the auditorium included the words ''In loving memory of'' Belcher and Kasandra Perkins, the mother of his 3-month-old daughter.

After a series of pictures of Perkins and baby Zoey came the message, ''Keep this little girl in your prayers.''
