Giants' Webster out vs. Panthers

Published Sep. 22, 2013 1:00 a.m. ET

New York Giants cornerback Corey Webster will not play in Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers.

The Giants on Saturday downgraded Webster from doubtful to out because of a hip injury. He will not make the trip to Charlotte, N.C.

Veteran Aaron Ross is expected to play for Webster, who had started the last 34 games.

Ross, who played in Jacksonville last season, has not started a game for the Giants since the Super Bowl in February 2012. He did not play a down on defense in the Giants' 41-23 loss to the Broncos last Sunday.
