Jets work on special Tebow plays

The Jets have begun working on some of the special plays they have designed for new backup quarterback Tim Tebow.

Head coach Rex Ryan, through a team spokesman, told reporters the team has run a couple of regular direct snaps to Tebow this week.

The issue arose after Ryan played coy in his press conference Thursday.

When Ryan was asked if they had implemented anything with Tebow during the closed sessions he said, "As far as you guys know, we haven't done anything."

The team spokesman then clarified the remark to reporters.

The Jets have not run any unconventional offenses during minicamp while the media has been watching.

The Jets are expected to have a full package for the wildly popular 24-year-old that will include wildcat, zone option and even some plays with him at a position other than quarterback.

The Jets likely won't implement all of those until right before the season. They are currently focusing on learning offensive coordinator Tony Sparano's base offense.
