Umenyiora fires Twitter bomb at McCoy

Published May. 14, 2012 1:00 a.m. ET

Osi Umenyiora might have played his final game with the Giants, but that does not mean he is done taunting the Eagles.

The Giants defensive end took a shot at rival LeSean McCoy on Twitter on Sunday, wishing Philadelphia's star running back the best on his, err, special day.

"Happy Mothers Day Lesean Mccoy! Enjoy your special day!!" Umenyiora tweeted.

Approximately an hour and a half after Umenyiora's 9:30am local time post, McCoy appeared to respond.

"Lol let the beef begin," McCoy wrote.

Former Giants running back Brandon Jacobs, now with the 49ers, chimed in, too.

"Omg hahah," wrote Jacobs, who signed with San Francisco this offseason.

"Hahaha u know the beef is never over. Never," Umenyiora responded to Jacobs.

It's not the first time Umenyiora and McCoy have sparred over Twitter comments. When Umenyiora joined the lawsuit against the league last June during the NFL lockout, McCoy took a shot at him.

"Overrated n soft 3rd best d-line on his team honestly," McCoy wrote.

Umenyiora joined the lawsuit claiming that Giants GM Jerry Reese had failed to deliver on the promise of a new contract.

Umenyiora is still in a contract dispute with the Giants and could hold out if the sides do not agree to an extension, or he is traded.
