Patriots to host QBs Manziel, Bridgewater on a visit

The Patriots are set to host quarterbacks Johnny Manziel and Teddy Bridgewater on Wednesday, according to FOX Sports 1 insider Alex Marvez.

Manziel, who staged his pro day at Texas A&M last week, is arguably the most polarizing quarterback in this year’s draft class. After becoming the first freshman to win the Heisman Trophy, Manziel followed it up with a stellar sophomore season, including several headlines off the field.

Bridgewater also saved the bulk of his work for his pro day at Louisville, which drew mixed reviews and was attended by a wide swath of NFL decision makers.

The Patriots, who own the No. 29 overall pick, have Tom Brady and Ryan Mallett as the only quarterbacks on the roster.

It’s likely that head coach Bill Belichick is just doing his due diligence, but it’d be a rather surprising landing spot for either QB, as they've been pegged to be top-10 picks by many draft analysts.
