Redskins' DeAngelo Hall on FOX Football Daily: Players questioned RG3's benching

Published Jan. 9, 2014 4:04 p.m. ET

Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall said that former coach Mike Shanahan never lost the team, but players did question him after his decision to bench quarterback Robert Griffin III with three games remaining in the season.

"It wasn't until we benched RG and the new kind of were like 'What's going on?' " Hall said on Thursday's FOX Football Daily. "It was kind of like: 'We've got three games left, let's just hurry up and get this season over with.' "

Hall thought Griffin never got healthy in the regular season, and should have gotten more reps in the preseason.

"If he was able to go out there Week One, he should have been out there (in preseason)," Hall said.
