Saints sign tackle Zach Strief to five-year deal
Zach Strief turned down a visit with the Dolphins last week. We now know why.
The veteran right tackle signed a five-year deal with the New Orleans Saints on Monday. Strief's five-year deal is worth $20.5 million with $8.4 million guaranteed, FOX Sports 1 insider Alex Marvez reports.
“We are excited to announce that Zach will stay with us into the future,” Saints general manager Mickey Loomis said in the announcement. “Not only has he done an excellent job at the right tackle position, but he has served us well as an offensive team captain for the past two seasons and has always been a great asset in the community since he first came here in 2006.”
Strief, who was selected in the seventh round of the 2006 NFL Draft out of Northwestern, has played in 109 regular-season games.
Now that Strief has been re-signed, center Brian de la Puente is the only player from the Saints’ offensive line, who remains unsigned.
