49ers QB Kaepernick being investigated in alleged suspicious incident

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and two other NFL players are under investigation in an alleged suspicious incident reported April 1 in Miami.

According to a copy of an incident report, obtained by FOX Sports, it is not clear exactly what happened -- the woman who filed the report said she woke up in a hospital and could not recall how she ended up there.  She also told police she had a prior sexual relationship with Kaepernick.

In addition to Kaepernick, the report also names 49ers wide receiver Quinton Patton and Seahawks wide receiver Ricardo Lockette as possible suspects.

The 49ers released the following statement: "The 49ers organization is aware of the recent media report regarding Colin Kaepernick and is in the process of gathering the pertinent facts."

Initial media reports suggested that a sexual assault had occurred, but there is nothing in the report that clarifies exactly what happened. The report itself has "police information" listed in the area where a specific crime would normally be included.

"Some people may have been jumping the gun here," said Miami police spokesman Rene Pimentel.​

According to the report, the woman told police that on the evening of April 1 she visited Lockette at his Miami apartment. When she arrived, Kaepernick and Patton were already at the apartment.

"They talked for a while and she mixed some drinks for all of them and gave them shots," the police report said.

The woman told police that "they told her that in order to drink the shots she had to 'hit' the bong, which contained marijuana."

After watching a basketball game, the woman said she started to feel lightheaded and went to a bedroom to lie down. She said she took off her jacket and jewelry and that Kaepernick followed her into the bedroom and started kissing her.

According to the report, the woman said Kaepernick undressed her, then told her "that he was going to be right back and left the bedroom."

The woman said they did not have sex.

The woman told police that as she lay in bed Patton and Lockette opened the door and "peeked" inside.

"What are you doing?" she asked them, according to the report. "Where is Colin? Get out."
