Source: Rams to sign two-time Pro Bowl pick Davin Joseph

The St. Louis Rams are adding a two-time Pro Bowl selection to their offensive line.

FOX Sports has learned that former Tampa Bay right guard Davin Joseph is set to sign a free-agent contract with St. Louis. Contract details weren’t immediately available.

Joseph, 30, had spent his entire career with Tampa Bay since becoming the team’s 2006 first-round draft choice. Joseph reached the Pro Bowl in 2008 and 2011, but his play has declined since suffering a major knee injury in 2012.

The Buccaneers released the 6-foot-3, 313-pound Joseph before the March start of the free-agent signing period, a move that cleared $6 million in salary cap space. Joseph also made free-agent visits to Dallas and New England.

Joseph has 99 career starts but may be relegated to backup duty depending on how St. Louis configures its line. The Rams chose Auburn tackle Greg Robinson earlier this month with the No. 2 overall selection in the 2014 NFL draft but may initially use him at left guard. Rodger Saffold is projected to start at right guard but, like Robinson, he has the ability to play tackle as well.

Starting left tackle Jake Long is coming off reconstructive knee surgery, which may require St. Louis to shuffle personnel depending on how quickly he recovers.
