Tebow debut looks to be at Bengals

Published Apr. 5, 2012 1:00 a.m. ET

Tebowmania is scheduled to make its Jets debut way off Broadway.

The Jets open the preseason in Cincinnati against the Bengals on either Aug. 10 or 11, a matchup that should be the first game for Tim Tebow with Gang Green, barring injury.

Tebow's debut highlights the preseason dates of the Jets and Giants, released by the league Wednesday among the full, 65-game exhibition schedule.

The two New York teams face each other in Week 2 (Aug. 16-20) of the preseason, a week earlier than usual. The exact date has not been determined. It is a Jets home game this year.

The Super Bowl champion Giants will experience a cozy preseason this summer, because three of their four games will be played at MetLife Stadium.

Factor in the Sept. 5 regular-season opener against the Cowboys at home, and the Giants will not pack their bags for a full month.

The only road trip for the Giants comes in the preseason opener, when they travel to Jacksonville, Fla., to face the Jaguars.

Both teams have nationally-televised games in Week 3. The Giants face the Bears on Aug. 24 at home, and the Jets take on Cam Newton and the Panthers on Aug. 26, also at MetLife Stadium.

The preseason ends with the Giants and Patriots staging a Super Bowl "rematch" Aug. 29 at MetLife. The Jets travel to Philadelphia on Aug. 30 to play the Eagles in their preseason finale.

Regular season schedules will be released later this month.
