Free agents Tom Zbikowski and Brandon McDonald were both suspended by the NFL on Tuesday.

Zbikowski, who was waived by the Bears at the end of the preseason, was suspended four games for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances.

He went to Notre Dame and was a third-round pick by Baltimore in the 2008 draft, Zbikowski has appeared in 64 games with 25 starts over five seasons with the Ravens from 2008 to 2011, and Indianapolis in 2012.

McDonald was given a two-game suspension for violating the league's personal conduct policy. McDonald played in 11 games last season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
