Polamalu fined for horse-collar tackle

Steelers safety Troy Polamalu was fined $15,000 for a horse-collar tackle on Ravens running back Ricky Williams during Baltimore's 35-7 win last Sunday, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported Friday.

The six-time Pro Bowler insisted the tackle, which came in the third quarter of the season opener, was not deliberate.

But he refused to confirm if he will appeal the punishment.

"I'm not a big fan of people being really vocal about the fines," Polamalu said. "It definitely wasn't on purpose. I've never intentionally tried to horse collar anybody."
