Sun. Nov 22, 2009 | Fanball
News: Updating an earlier item, the injury that forced Kurt Warner from the game late in the first half on Sunday has been revealed to be a mild concussion, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen.
Impact: It sounds as mild as such a serious injury could be. He looked fine to the naked eye on the sidelines in the second half, and the team says he is doing well. He will probably be able to go in Week 12.
Sun. Nov 22, 2009 | Fanball
News: Matt Leinart was mediocre in relief of an injured Kurt Warner on Sunday, competing 10-of-14 passes for only 74 yards.
Impact: The offense was lost without its usual field general, and Sunday was another stark reminder of why Warner continues to start over the formerly ballyhooed Leinart.
Sun. Nov 22, 2009 | Fanball
News: Kurt Warner did not return to the game on Sunday after leaving late in the first half after being jammed into the turf by St. Louis' O.J. Atogwe. He finished the day 15-of-19 for 203 yards and two touchdowns.
Impact: Matt Leinart was dreadful in relief, and all Arizona skill-player owners should hope Warner is able to go in Week 12. Stay tuned.
Sun. Nov 22, 2009 | Fanball
News: Larry Fitzgerald was his usual productive self on Sunday, reeling in eight balls for 87 yards and a touchdown in the Cardinals' 21-13 win against the Rams.
Impact: Fitzgerald owners should hope Kurt Warner's injury will not cause him to miss any time, but number 11 will obviously remain a strong play regardless.
Sun. Nov 22, 2009 | Fanball
News: Anquan Boldin posted his second-straight 100-yard game on Sunday, catching the ball eight times for 103 yards and a touchdown in Arizona's 21-13 victory over the Rams.
Impact: That week of rest in Week 9 ended up doing wonders for Boldin's fantasy status, and as long as Kurt Warner's injury isn't serious, he is back to being a must play every week.
Sun. Nov 22, 2009 | Fanball
News: Chris Wells made the most of limited carries on Sunday, taking the rock 14 times for 74 yards and a touchdown in Arizona's 21-13 victory in St. Louis.
Impact: Wells is becoming a stronger and stronger start with every passing week, and he's now a safe flex play in all formats.
Sun. Nov 22, 2009 | Fanball
News: Tim Hightower was a stud on Sunday afternoon, carrying the ball 14 times for 110 yards in Arizona's 21-13 victory over St. Louis. He added two receptions for 15 yards.
Impact: While Beanie Wells continues to emerge as another threat in the backfield, Hightower continues to put together strong efforts, and should remain a nice flex play going forward.
Nov 22, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Leinart's teammate Kurt Warner, who left Sunday's game in the second quarter due to a head injury, expects to play in Week 12, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: Warner will be evaluated in the coming days. Initial indications are positive, so there's a good chance Leinart will be back on the bench next week.
Nov 22, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Warner, who left Sunday's game in the second quarter due to a head injury, expects to play in Week 12, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: He will be evaluated in the coming days; the initial indications are positive. Warner does not have any memory loss and he talked to coaches, trainers and teammates throughout the second half of Sunday's game.
Nov 22, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Davis recorded his second sack of the season on Sunday.
Impact: The two sacks have come in Arizona's last three games. Davis is still coming off the bench and he still has a lot to learn, but he's showing some potential as his rookie season turns towards the home stretch.
Sun. Nov 22, 2009 | Fanball
News: Kurt Warner exited today's game against the Rams in the first half. He was jammed into the turf by safety O.J. Atogwe.
Impact: Matt Leinart has replaced him at quarterback, and Warner's return is uncertain.
Nov 22, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Wilson (groin) recorded an interception for a second straight game on Sunday. He finished with five tackles (three solo).
Impact: A favorable remaining schedule could help him achieve a new career-high in interceptions. Wilson needs just one more to tie his current record of four (set in 2002 and tied in 2006).
Nov 22, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Dockett recorded a sack for a third straight game on Sunday. He finished with two tackles (both solo).
Impact: He's capable of getting hot for an extended period of time, as evidenced by the eight sacks that he made in the first eight games of the 2007 regular season. Dockett is inconsistent but talented. He's worth a look, especially since the Cardinals have a favorable remaining schedule.
Nov 22, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Hayes (hips, back) made three tackles (all solo) in his return from a two-game absence on Sunday.
Impact: He may have been rusty, although Hayes often produces inconsistent tackling totals. Barring a setback, he should be fine to deploy in Week 12.
Nov 22, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Dansby (shoulder) made nine tackles (eight solo) in Sunday's win over the Rams.
Impact: He played well on Sunday after being limited in all of Arizona's Week 11 practices. Dansby is on pace for 118 tackles this season, one shy of the career-high 119 that he made a year ago.
Sun. Nov 22, 2009 | STATS
News: Warner left Sunday's game at St. Louis after taking a blow to the head in the second quarter, and the team said his return was questionable.
Impact: Warner was in uniform but on the sideline for the start of the second half as Matt Leinart took over.
Nov 22, 2009 | RotoWire
News: McFadden left Sunday's game in the second quarter due to a right knee contusion, according to the Arizona Republic.
Impact: Michael Adams made a career-high eight tackles in his place. A contusion doesn't sound that bad, but we'll have to wait and see regarding McFadden's Week 12 status.
Nov 22, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Adams (hamstring) made a career-high eight tackles (all solo) in Sunday's win over the Rams.
Impact: His role expanded because starting cornerback Bryant McFadden went down in the second quarter with a knee injury. Adams is usually a little-used backup. McFadden's Week 12 status is unknown at this time, although a contusion doesn't sound that bad.
Nov 22, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Rackers did not attempt a field goal in Week 11; he connected on all three of his PATs.
Impact: The Cardinals' offense continues to perform very well in the red zone and that's cutting into Rackers' field-goal attempts. Arizona is averaging a solid 25.0 points per game, so if the offense starts to bog down in the red zone, Rackers could become much more active. It's worth watching starting quarterback Kurt Warner's status; he left Sunday's game due to a head injury and the Cardinals' offense probably won't be as efficient if Warner is sidelined in Week 12.
Nov 22, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Spach was a healthy inactive on Sunday.
Impact: With Ben Patrick (knee) back from a one-game absence, Spach is third on the Cardinals' depth chart and they usually activate only two tight ends.
Nov 22, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Patrick (knee) made one reception for 27 yards in Sunday's victory at St. Louis.
Impact: He has been targeted 11 times in five games this season; Patrick has eight receptions for 84 yards and two touchdowns. He is best described as a speculative fantasy play, since he doesn't usually gain many yards. Patrick's value centers around the possibility of a well-timed catch in the red zone.
Nov 22, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Doucet made one reception for 20 yards in Sunday's win at St. Louis.
Impact: He has officially passed Jerheme Urban for the Cardinals' No. 4 receiver position, since Urban was a healthy inactive on Sunday. Doucet still isn't getting a lot of looks; he has been targeted nine times in three games and he has six catches for 59 yards.
Nov 22, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Breaston (right knee) was not targeted as a receiver on Sunday. He returned two punts for a total of 19 yards.
Impact: This is very strange since Breaston came into the game averaging nearly eight targets per contest. The Cardinals completed 25-of-33 passes for 277 yards on Sunday, so there were a lot of balls to go around, at least in theory. Maybe Breaston's knee acted up, however, he still played as a punt returner and he was believed to be almost 100 percent heading into the game. At this point, Breaston's quiet Week 11 performance is a mystery.
Nov 22, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Fitzgerald caught eight passes for 87 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's win at St. Louis.
Impact: He leads the NFL with nine receiving touchdowns and he ranks fourth with 71 receptions. Yes, Fitzgerald's YPC is down a bit and yes, he only has two 100-yard games this season, but he's still having a monster season.
Nov 22, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Boldin made eight receptions for 103 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's win over the Rams.
Impact: After sitting out in Week 9 to overcome a nagging ankle injury, Boldin has 16 catches for 208 yards in his last two games. A healthy Boldin is a candidate for a big game every week.
Nov 22, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Wells rushed 14 times for 74 yards and a touchdown (his third in Arizona's last two games) in Sunday's win over the Rams. He added two catches for 11 yards.
Impact: While his backfield mate Tim Hightower gained more yards (110 on 14 carries), Wells succeeded in a goal-to-go situation and Hightower did not. The two players are splitting carries almost exactly down the middle and Wells seems to be cutting into Hightower's previously secure goal-line role.
Nov 22, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Hightower rushed 14 times for a career-high 110 yards in Sunday's win over the Rams. He added two receptions for 15 yards.
Impact: He must like the Edward Jones Dome -- his previous career-high was a 109-yard performance there last season. While there is a lot to like about Hightower's Week 11 outing, the presence of his backfield mate Chris Wells is a growing concern. Wells scored another touchdown on Sunday (his third in Arizona's last two games) and he succeeded in a goal-to-go situation whereas Hightower did not. Hightower and Wells are splitting carries almost exactly down the middle and Hightower seems to be losing his previously strong grip on the Cardinals' goal-line duties. Hightower also isn't catching passes as regularly as he did earlier in the season.
Nov 22, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Leinart completed 10-of-14 passes for 74 yards in relief of Kurt Warner (head) on Sunday.
Impact: This was Leinart's most extensive regular-season action since early in the 2007 season. He came into the game late in the second quarter and guided the Cardinals the rest of the way. The Cardinals didn't ask Leinart to do too much, since they nursed a 21-3 halftime lead to a 21-13 victory. Warner's Week 12 status is uncertain and Leinart will be a compelling fantasy option if Warner is unable to play.
Nov 22, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Warner, who did not return to Sunday's game after suffering a head injury during the second quarter, finished the day with 15 completions in 19 attempts for 203 yards and two touchdowns. He committed one turnover (a fumble).
Impact: Obviously, his injury overshadows his strong statistical performance. Warner's Week 12 status is unknown at this time. He has thrown for two or more touchdowns in six of his last seven games.
Sun. Nov 22, 2009 | Fanball
News: Cardinals inactives: Brian St. Pierre (third QB), WR Jerheme Urban, TE Stephen Spach, TE Dominique Byrd, S Rashad Johnson, LB Chike Okeafor, OL Herman Johnson, and OL Brandon Keith.
Impact: Early Doucet has moved up into the No. 4 role at receiver, so it is not surprising that Urban is inactive. Steve Breaston is active and will handle his usual slot role. Bert Berry and Will Davis will both see time at outside linebacker with Okeafor out.
Nov 22, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Warner left before halftime with an apparent head injury, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Impact: His return is questionable at this time. Warner stayed in the game briefly after taking the hit that appeared to cause the injury. Matt Leinart took over at quarterback for the Cards.
Nov 22, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Urban is a healthy inactive against the Rams on Sunday, the Cards' official site reports.
Impact: Early Doucet has officially passed Urban on the Cards' depth chart. Perhaps it's time to begin the countdown until Chiefs head coach Todd Haley finds a way to acquire Urban?
Nov 22, 2009 | RotoWire
News: McFadden (ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the Rams.
Impact: He'll be in the starting lineup for the Cards in Week 11, so it's safe to deploy McFadden if he's one of your regular IDPs.
Nov 22, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Patrick (knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Rams.
Impact: Not much surprise here as Patrick was able to practice on Thursday and Friday. Anthony Becht will serve as the Cards' No. 2 tight end in Week 11.
Nov 22, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Breaston (knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Rams.
Impact: Feel free to use him as you normally would. Breaston was on the field for practice all week and the Arizona passing attack should be able to take advantage of a good matchup against the Rams on Sunday.
Nov 22, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Dansby (shoulder) is active for Sunday's game against the Rams, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: Feel free to roll him as you normally would if he's one of your IDP options.
Nov 22, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Wilson (groin, probable) will probably be at the line of scrimmage on nearly every play on Sunday against the Rams, the East Valley Tribune reports.
Impact: The Cardinals are much more concerned with St. Louis' running attack than their passing game. As a result, Wilson could be on track for a good tackling day and he might get the sack he needs in order to become the 10th player in NFL history to accumulate 20 career sacks and 20 career interceptions.
Sat. Nov 21, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Rodgers-Cromartie is still wearing a cast on his broken right index finger, although he does not appear on the Cardinals' injury report for the first time since Week 3, the team's official site reports.
Impact: While he's not quite 100 percent, DRC is as healthy as he has been in about two months. Plus, he has two interceptions in six games with the cast, so we don't see any reason to downgrade his Week 11 value.
Fri. Nov 20, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Wilson (groin) is probable for Sunday's game.
Impact: He was a full participant in practice on Thursday and Friday and he should be in the Cardinals' starting lineup on Sunday. With one more sack, Wilson will become the 10th player in NFL history to have 20 career interceptions and 20 career sacks.
Fri. Nov 20, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Patrick (knee) is expected to play on Sunday despite his questionable designation, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: He was a full participant in practice on Thursday and Friday, so he shouldn't be limited on Sunday against the Rams.
Fri. Nov 20, 2009 | RotoWire
News: McFadden (ankle) is expected to play on Sunday despite his questionable designation, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: He was a limited participant in practice on Thursday and Friday. McFadden should occupy his usual starting role on Sunday against the Rams.
Fri. Nov 20, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Hayes (hips, back) is expected to play on Sunday despite his questionable designation, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: He was a full participant in practice on Thursday and Friday. Hayes should return to the Cardinals' starting lineup after a two-game absence.
Fri. Nov 20, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Breaston (right knee) is probable for Sunday's game.
Impact: He has been a fixture on the Cardinals' injury reports this season, but he participated in all of this week's practices and he should be available for normal duty as the Cardinals' third receiver and top punt returner on Sunday.
Fri. Nov 20, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Dansby (shoulder) is expected to play on Sunday despite his questionable designation, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: He was a limited participant in all of this week's practices and he should be in the Cardinals' starting lineup on Sunday at St. Louis.
Fri. Nov 20, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Morey (concussion) participated fully in Friday's practice and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against St. Louis, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: The Cardinals will take the necessary precautions with Morey's concussion, but it looks like he'll be available for his usual special teams work on Sunday.
Fri. Nov 20, 2009 | Fanball
News: According to the team, Chike Okeafor (back) will not play against the Rams in Week 11.
Impact: The team says his absence is more of a result of his inability to practice this week, and not necessarily because of the back pain. He should be able to return in Week 12.
Fri. Nov 20, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Okeafor (back) has been ruled out of Sunday's game, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: He hasn't practiced in two weeks, although Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt said on Friday that Okeafor is feeling better, so that bodes well for Week 12. Bertrand Berry will probably start in Okeafor's place on Sunday and Will Davis should provide support off the bench.
Fri. Nov 20, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Dockett has a good matchup this week, the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: Since St. Louis right guard Richie Incognito (foot) isn't expected to play, Dockett should line up opposite Incognito's backup, Adam Goldberg. Dockett has 17 tackles (13 solo) in his last four games and two sacks in his last two games. There's a good chance he will add to those totals this week.
Fri. Nov 20, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Gandy (pelvis) has been decent this season, the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: He's probably the shakiest member of the Cardinals' offensive line, but he has the toughest job as quarterback Kurt Warner's blindside protector. Gandy is usually forced into one-on-one situations because the Cardinals send a lot of receivers downfield and don't typically leave a lot of blocking support in the backfield. He is expected to make his 74th-straight regular-season start on Sunday.
Fri. Nov 20, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Wells (right thumb) has been steady this season, the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: He is expected to make his 58th-consecutive regular-season start on Sunday. Wells is having a successful career after being drafted in the sixth round of the 2003 draft by the Cardinals.
Fri. Nov 20, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Arizona coaches believe that Brown has steadily improved this season, the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: He is expected to make his 34th-consecutive regular-season start on Sunday. Brown hasn't yet lived up to the No. 5 overall pick that Arizona spent on him in 2007, but he's moving in the right direction.
Fri. Nov 20, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Lutui (who returned to practice on Thursday after sitting out on Wednesday for personal reasons) has been more consistent this season, the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: He is expected to make his 50th-straight regular-season start on Sunday. There have been some bumps along the way, but Lutui now seems to be living up to the second-round selection that Arizona spent on him in 2006.
Fri. Nov 20, 2009 | RotoWire
News: The Arizona coaches are encouraged by Sendlein's play this season, the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: He is expected to make his 26th-consecutive regular-season start on Sunday. Sendlein entered this season as a bit of a question mark, but his strong play has eased concerns. He was shaky at times last season and it was subsequently revealed that he was playing through a torn labrum in his left shoulder.
Thu. Nov 19, 2009 | Fanball
News: Steve Breaston was again limited by a knee injury in Cardinals practice on Thursday, according to the team.
Impact: While it's not great news that he was limited a second straight day, it is good news that he practiced. The Cardinals' super solid number three wide receiver should be good to this Sunday unless he knee swells up between now and Sunday morning.
Thu. Nov 19, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Spach's teammate Ben Patrick (knee) was a full participant in Thursday's practice and he should play on Sunday, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: As a result, Spach might be a healthy inactive. Patrick and Anthony Becht seem to occupy the top two spots on the Cardinals' depth chart.
Thu. Nov 19, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Patrick (knee) was a full participant in Thursday's practice and he should play on Sunday, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: This was the first time that he was a full participant in practice in nearly two weeks. Patrick should be in the Cardinals' lineup on Sunday and, since he has a touchdown catch in his last two games, he's worth a dart in deep leagues.
Thu. Nov 19, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Wilson (groin) was a full participant in Thursday's practice and he should play on Sunday, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: He should be fine to fill his usual starting role.
Thu. Nov 19, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Morey (concussion) was a full participant in Thursday's practice and he should play on Sunday, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: It looks like Morey will be fine to resume his special teams duties after a one-game absence.
Thu. Nov 19, 2009 | RotoWire
News: McFadden (ankle) returned to practice on a limited basis Thursday and he should play on Sunday, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: We're optimistic that he will be able to fill his usual starting role.
Thu. Nov 19, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Hayes (hips, back) was a full participant in Thursday's practice and he should play on Sunday, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: He's looking good in his bid to return from a two-game absence.
Thu. Nov 19, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Dansby (shoulder) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice and he should play on Sunday, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: We think that Dansby will be able to fill his usual starting role.
Thu. Nov 19, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Berry's teammate Chike Okeafor (back) missed practice again on Thursday and probably won't play on Sunday, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: Berry is in line for his fourth start of the season. However, he should still play a part-time role and he has been unproductive more often than not this season.
Thu. Nov 19, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Okeafor (back) missed practice again on Thursday and probably won't play on Sunday, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: He hasn't practiced in almost two weeks. Assuming that Okeafor doesn't play on Sunday, Bertrand Berry will probably get the start and Will Davis should also play a larger role than usual.
Wed. Nov 18, 2009 | Fanball
News: Adrian Wilson was limited in practice today while nursing a groin injury, according to the Cardinals' official website.
Impact: Wilson has been inconsistent in pass coverage this season, but is still the leader of the Cardinals' secondary. Opposing quarterback Marc Bulger could catch a break if Wilson is hindered by his ailment Sunday at St. Louis.
Wed. Nov 18, 2009 | Fanball
News: Karlos Dansby was limited in today's practice while nursing a shoulder ailment, according to the Cardinals' official website.
Impact: The star linebacker is the anchor of the Cardinals' defense, and the Rams' offense could benefit if Dansby is slowed by his injury on Sunday.
Wed. Nov 18, 2009 | Fanball
News: Bryant McFadden did not practice Wednesday, according to the Cardinals' official website.
Impact: He is still dealing with a nagging ankle ailment, but is yet to miss a game. The talented cornerback should be a good bet to play Sunday at St. Louis.
Wed. Nov 18, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Haggans' Week 10 sack total has been reduced from two to 1.5, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: He still leads the Cardinals with four sacks this season. Haggans has also been reasonably productive in other categories, with 37 tackles (30 solo) and two forced fumbles in nine games.
Wed. Nov 18, 2009 | RotoWire
News: The half-sack that Dockett recorded in Week 10 has been changed to a full sack, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: He now has two sacks in his last two games and three this season. Dockett has also been a strong tackler as of late (he has five or more tackles in three of his last four games) and he seems to be hitting a midseason rhythm.
Wed. Nov 18, 2009 | Fanball
News: Chike Okeafor sat out today's practice, according to the Cardinals' official website. He is dealing with a back ailment.
Impact: Okeafor missed Week 10, and is uncertain to return Sunday at St. Louis. The rush linebacker chipped in 3.5 sacks over seven outings this season.
Wed. Nov 18, 2009 | Fanball
News: Gerald Hayes practiced on a limited basis Wednesday, according to the Cardinals' official website.
Impact: Hayes missed the last two games with a back ailment, but appears to be nearing his return to the gridiron. The Cardinals will battle the Rams on Sunday.
Wed. Nov 18, 2009 | Fanball
News: Steve Breaston was limited in Wednesday's practice while nursing a knee ailment, according to the Cardinals' official website.
Impact: Breaston hauled in four passes for 79 yards and a touchdown in Week 10 against Seattle. He should be able to play Sunday at St. Louis, assuming his knee does not get worse.
Wed. Nov 18, 2009 | RotoWire
News: McFadden (ankle) missed Wednesday's practice.
Impact: He has been playing through various ankle issues since training camp and this is probably related. Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt said on Monday that he hopes to have his full squad available on Sunday, so there doesn't seem to be much concern about McFadden's Week 11 status at this point.
Wed. Nov 18, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Patrick (knee) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
Impact: We're optimistic that Patrick will be able to play on Sunday, but we thought the same thing last week. In Week 10, Patrick was a limited participant in all of Arizona's practices and he missed the game.
Wed. Nov 18, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Hayes (hips, back) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
Impact: This was a strong step towards returning from a two-game absence. Hayes, though, still needs to make it through the rest of the week without a setback.
Wed. Nov 18, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Okeafor (back) missed Wednesday's practice.
Impact: Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt is optimistic that Okeafor will be able to play on Sunday, but he hasn't practiced in almost two weeks, so it will be important for him to get back on the practice field Thursday and/or Friday.
Wed. Nov 18, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Dansby (shoulder) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
Impact: There's still plenty of time before Sunday's game and it's a good sign that Dansby was able to do some work on Wednesday. We're optimistic that he will be able to play his normal role on Sunday against the Rams.
Wed. Nov 18, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Wilson (groin) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
Impact: There's still plenty of time before Sunday's game and it's a good sign that Wilson was able to do some work on Wednesday. We're optimistic that he will be able to play his normal role on Sunday against the Rams.
Wed. Nov 18, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Breaston (right knee) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
Impact: He has been playing through this injury for months and he should do so again on Sunday against the Rams.
Tue. Nov 17, 2009 | Fanball
News: The Arizona Republic is reporting that Tim Hightower will remain the team's starting running back. Hightower will continue to split time with rookie Beanie Wells, but Hightower will remain the starter for the time being.
Impact: Beanie is the better fantasy option here, especially after his 85 yard, two touchdown performance last week. The team may not want to anoint the rookie as the starter, but he is the better all-around player.
Mon. Nov 16, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Morey (concussion) might be cleared for contact this week, Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt told the Arizona Republic on Monday.
Impact: The Cardinals seem to be taking a cautious approach with Morey, who says that he has suffered more concussions than he would like to admit. He has agreed to donate his brain to a concussion research project at the end of his life and he is an advocate for better diagnostic and treatment methods.
Mon. Nov 16, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Okeafor (back) will hopefully play in Week 11, Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt told the Arizona Republic on Monday.
Impact: He didn't practice at all last week, so the first hurdle is for Okeafor to return to the practice field. His Week 11 status should become clearer by mid-week.
Mon. Nov 16, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Even though he was outplayed by Chris Wells on Sunday, Hightower won't lose his starting role anytime soon, Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt told the team's official site on Monday.
Impact: Whisenhunt is committed to a time-share between Hightower and Wells. The fact that the two players should continue to split time is more important than the semantics of who starts. Hightower has carried 88 times for 320 yards and five touchdowns this season and Wells has carried 86 times for 395 yards and three touchdowns. Hightower has 45 receptions for 328 yards and Wells has six receptions for 49 yards. Whisenhunt seems to prefer Hightower in short-yardage and passing situations and he likes that Hightower has more NFL experience. Wells, on the other hand, is more explosive and has more long-term upside. It's also important to note that Hightower and Wells are averaging a total of 22.0 rushes per game when the Cardinals win and a total of 14.0 carries per game when Arizona loses. The Cardinals love to pass and they often abandon the run when they fall behind.

News: Despite a strong performance in Week 10, Wells won't start anytime soon, Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt told the team's official site on Monday.
Impact: Whisenhunt is committed to a time-share between Wells and Tim Hightower. News: Boldin, held out against his wishes in last week's win at Chicago with a high ankle sprain, caught eight passes for 105 yards in the Cardinals' 31-20 win over Seattle on Sunday.
Impact: It was Boldin's first 100-yard game this season, and he's only scored one touchdown. Perhaps his time on the sidelines has Boldin motivated for a bigger second half.
Mon. Nov 16, 2009 | STATS
News: Fitzgerald had seven catches for 73 yards and a touchdown Sunday in the Cardinals' 31-20 win over Seattle.
Impact: Fitzgerald has caught at least six passes in his last five games, and he scored for a second straight week. Anquan Boldin is back, however, so Fitzgerald may not get quite as many looks.
Mon. Nov 16, 2009 | STATS
News: Warner completed 29 of 38 for 340 yards and two touchdown passes for the Cardinals, who stayed two games up on San Francisco in the NFC West with a 31-20 win over Seattle on Sunday.
Impact: The 38-year-old quarterback became the 29th player in NFL history to throw 200 touchdown passes. He had his 51st 300-yard passing game, tying Dan Fouts for fourth on the NFL career list.
Mon. Nov 16, 2009 | STATS
News: Wells rushed for 75 yards in 10 carries, including two for touchdowns, in the second half of Arizona's 31-20 victory over Seattle on Sunday. He finished with 85 yards on the ground and two catches for 32 yards.
Impact: In the past two games, Arizona's first-round draft pick has 157 yards in 29 carries, while starter Tim Hightower has 28 carries for 107 yards. Against the Seahawks, Wells gained 87 yards in 16 attempts, while Hightower had 37 yards in 10 carries. In the last four games, Wells has 271 yards in 51 carries, an average of 5.3 yards per carry.
Mon. Nov 16, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Stephens-Howling caught two passes for 22 yards on Sunday and he averaged 25 yards on two kickoff returns.
Impact: He continues to have trouble finding room on kickoff returns, but the Cardinals don't have many alternatives and Stephens-Howling's role as Arizona's primary kickoff returner appears safe for now.
Mon. Nov 16, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Hayes (hips, back) will hopefully return to practice this week, Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt told the team's official site on Monday.
Impact: He hasn't practiced since Nov. 6 and he hasn't appeared in a game since Nov. 1. Whisenhunt's statement is encouraging, but Hayes still has to clear several hurdles in order to return to game action.
Mon. Nov 16, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Despite a second-straight starting assignment, Highsmith only recorded three tackles (two solo) on Sunday. He has five tackles (four solo) in two starts.
Impact: Other than the last two weeks, when Gerald Hayes' (hips, back) absences pushed Highsmith into a starting linebacker position, Highsmith hasn't seen much NFL action at linebacker. He still looks raw and he may head back to the bench as soon as Week 11, depending on how Hayes progresses.

News: Early Doucet has passed Jerheme Urban as the Cardinals' No. 4 receiver, according to ESPN.
Impact: Doucet will see more action following his promotion, but does not yet garner fantasy attention.

News: Rolle (left foot) is active for Sunday's game against the Seahawks.
Impact: Both Rolle and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie are active for the Cardinals, who will be at full strength in their defensive backfield.

Impact: He won't be limited much by the ankle injury Sunday.
Nov 15, 2009 | RotoWire

Impact: Anthony Becht and Stephen Spach will handle the tight end duties for Arizona.

Impact: Bertrand Berry will likely start in his place.
Nov 15, 2009 | RotoWire

Impact: The Cardinals will miss his presence on special teams, but this shouldn't affect fantasy owners.
Nov 15, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Iwebema (knee) is active for Sunday's game against Seattle.
Impact: Iwebema will provide the Cards with some added defensive line depth.
Nov 15, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Hayes (hip) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Seahawks.
Impact: Ali Highsmith will replace Hayes in the lineup.
Nov 15, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Gandy (pelvis) is active for Sunday's game against the Seahawks.
Impact: Arizona's offensive line should be at full strength Sunday.
Nov 15, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Breaston (right knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Seahawks.
Impact: Breaston helped the Cardinals shred Seattle's defense when the teams met earlier this year and should be safe to roll with this week if you need him.
Nov 15, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Boldin (right ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the Seahawks.
Impact: Boldin hasn't been fully healthy since Week 6, but he figures to be close to 100 percent on Sunday. He hauled in six receptions for 54 yards in the first game against Seattle this year.
Sun. Nov 15, 2009 | Fanball
News: Larry Fitzgerald caught seven passes for 73 yards and a touchdown in today's 31-20 win over the Seahawks.
Impact: Fitzgerald scored three touchdowns over his last two games, and has eight for the season. The stud receiver will have a good chance to add to his total with a favorable matchup at St. Louis next weekend.
Sun. Nov 15, 2009 | Fanball
News: Anquan Boldin hauled in eight receptions for 105 yards in today's 31-20 win over the Seahawks.
Impact: Boldin looks to be recovered from the ankle injury that forced him to miss Week 9 at Chicago, evidenced by his strong performance. Barring a setback, the elite receiver should be a safe fantasy option for Week 11 at St. Louis.
Sun. Nov 15, 2009 | Fanball
News: Chris Wells broke loose for 85 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries in today's 31-20 win over the Seahawks. He also caught two passes for 32 receiving yards.
Impact: Tim Hightower only had 10 carries for 37 yards. Wells has a bright future ahead of him in the NFL, and looks to be inching closer to unseating Hightower as the No. 1 back - which would boost his fantasy stock.
Sun. Nov 15, 2009 | Fanball
News: Kurt Warner gunned down the Seahawks in Sunday's 31-20 win at home, as he completed 29-of-38 passes for 340 yards, with two touchdowns and no interceptions.
Impact: The 38-year-old vet performed up to high expectations for fantasy owners while coming off a five-touchdown performance at Chicago. Warner fired multiple touchdown passes in five of his last six outings.
Nov 15, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Berry only totaled two tackles (both solo) in Week 10.
Impact: Even though he started in place of Chike Okeafor (back), Berry wasn't much of a factor. Okeafor could be back as soon as Week 11 and Berry could be a candidate for the chopping block in many fantasy leagues. He has only one sack and five tackles (four solo) since Week 2.
Nov 15, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Dockett recorded a season-high six tackles (five solo) and half a sack in Week 10.
Impact: He now has 1.5 sacks in his last two games after a six-game drought. Dockett is also showing signs of life in the tackling department (he has five or more in three of his last four contests) and he's on pace for 57 stops this season (one shy of his career high).
Nov 15, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Wilson recorded an interception and four tackles (all solo) in Sunday's win over the Seahawks.
Impact: He struggled in pass coverage last week in Chicago, so it was nice to see Wilson bounce back with his second interception of the season. He's on track for 71 tackles this season and he could challenge his career high of four interceptions (set in 2002 and tied in 2006). Surprisingly, Wilson hasn't been much of a factor in the sack department. He has only three sacks in his last 33 regular-season games after totaling 13 in his previous 32 regular-season contests. It's not for lack of trying, because the Cardinals frequently deploy Wilson as a blitzer. It may be that Wilson (who turned 30 last month) isn't quite as explosive as he used to be.
Nov 15, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Haggans recorded six tackles (four solo) and two sacks in Sunday's win over the Seahawks.
Impact: He now leads the Cardinals with 4.5 sacks this season and he could challenge his career high of nine (set back in 2005). Haggans has three sacks in his last two games and a favorable remaining schedule (five of the Cardinals' seven remaining opponents currently have losing records).
Nov 15, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Dansby made eight tackles (six solo) and half a sack in Week 10.
Impact: He only has one sack this season; his 65 tackles (50 solo) are much more impressive. Dansby is on pace for 116 tackles, which would be just three fewer than the career high he established last season.
Nov 15, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Rolle (left foot) made a season-high nine tackles (all solo) and an interception in Sunday's win over Seattle.
Impact: He's well on his way to a new career high in interceptions (his current record is five, set in 2007). He's on pace for 82 tackles, which would mark the third time in the last four seasons that he has recorded at least that many. Rolle is a versatile IDP that is probably at or near his physical peak (he will turn 27 next month).
Nov 15, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Rackers booted a 27-yard field goal and four extra points on Sunday.
Impact: He has only missed once this season and that was back in Week 2. The Cardinals entered Week 10 with the second-best red-zone touchdown efficiency percentage in the NFL and that's the main thing that's holding Rackers back. He's on pace for only 21 field-goal attempts this season, which would be exactly half of his 2005 total and a 25 percent decline from his 2008 total.
Nov 15, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Spach played on Sunday for the first time since Oct. 11. He was not targeted as a receiver.
Impact: Even though he has recovered from an ankle injury, Spach isn't a lock to be in the Cardinals' lineup every week from now on. He might not have played on Sunday had Ben Patrick (knee) been able to suit up. Patrick is the best receiver among the Cardinals' tight ends and Anthony Becht is the best blocker, so Spach could be looking at some healthy inactives during the second half of the season.
Nov 15, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Doucet made one reception for eight yards in Sunday's victory over the Seahawks; he was targeted three times.
Impact: Whether Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt will officially say so or not (he declined earlier in the week), it appears that Doucet has surpassed Jerheme Urban for the Cardinals' No. 4 receiver position. Doucet has been targeted seven times over the last two weeks and Urban has only been targeted once.
Nov 15, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Urban was active on Sunday, but he did not enter the game.
Impact: Whether Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt will officially say so or not (he declined earlier in the week), it appears that Early Doucet has surpassed Urban for the Cardinals' No. 4 receiver position. Doucet has been targeted seven times over the last two weeks and Urban has only been targeted once.
Nov 15, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Fitzgerald caught seven passes for 73 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's win over Seattle.
Impact: His yardage total is down this season because opponents are paying him a lot of attention; Fitzgerald is on pace for 1,253 receiving yards after exceeding 1,400 in three of the last four years. On the plus side, Fitzgerald is on pace for a career-high 112 receptions and a career-high 14 touchdowns this season. He has been targeted 16 times in the red zone, more than his teammates Anquan Boldin and Steve Breaston combined.
Nov 15, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Breaston (right knee) caught four passes for 79 yards and a touchdown in Week 10.
Impact: He now has a touchdown in back-to-back games. Even though he is Arizona's No. 3 receiver, Breaston is getting a solid number of red-zone looks (eight in eight games). He is also good at stretching the field; he leads the Cardinals with 11 receptions of 20 or more yards.
Nov 15, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Boldin (right ankle) led the Cardinals with eight receptions and a season-high 105 receiving yards in Week 10.
Impact: Injuries plagued Boldin throughout the first half of the season. After sitting out in Week 9 in an effort to get healthy, Boldin looked strong in Week 10. As long as he can stay healthy, Boldin looks primed for a great finish. Another good sign is the fact that he was targeted twice in the red zone on Sunday. In large part because of his injuries, Boldin was only targeted four times in the red zone in Arizona's first eight games.
Nov 15, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Warner completed 29-of-38 passes for 340 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 31-20 victory over the Seahawks.
Impact: He has put together back-to-back turnover-free games after an ugly six-turnover performance in Week 8. Warner's receivers are as healthy as they have been all season and they helped him to his highest yardage total of the season in Week 10; this was Warner's first 300-yard game since Week 5. We're expecting more good things in Week 11 against the Rams and beyond.
Nov 15, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Hightower rushed 10 times for 37 yards in Sunday's win over the Seahawks. He added five receptions for 21 yards.
Impact: Hightower was outplayed by his backfield mate Chris Wells on Sunday; Wells rushed 16 times for 85 yards and two touchdowns and he caught two passes for 32 yards. Wells' touchdown runs were both from 10 or more yards out and Hightower is probably still the Cardinals' top goal-line back. He has 15 regular-season touchdowns since the beginning of the 2008 season and his scoring potential remains his best attribute. Almost all of those TD runs came in short-yardage situations.
Nov 15, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Wells rushed 16 times for 85 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's win over Seattle. He added two receptions for 32 yards.
Impact: While this was a strong game for Wells and further evidence of his high upside, take note that neither of his touchdown runs came in goal-line situations. One was a 10-yard run and the other was a 13-yarder. Tim Hightower (who rushed 10 times for 37 yards and caught five passes for 21 yards on Sunday) has 15 regular-season touchdown runs since the beginning of the 2008 season. Almost all of those came in goal-line situations and Hightower is probably still the Cardinals' top goal-line back.

News: Week 10 inactives: QB Brian St. Pierre (3rd), TE Ben Patrick, LB Chike Okeafor, LB Gerald Hayes, WR Sean Morey, OL Brandon Keith, OL Herman Johnson, and TE Dominique Byrd.
Impact: At tight end, Stephen Spach will start for Patrick, who is inactive due to a knee injury. On defense, LB Ali Highsmith replaces Hayes, who is out with a back ailment. As expected, WR Anquan Boldin (ankle) is active and will start, while WR Steve Breaston is active and will play in multiple receiver sets.
Fri. Nov 13, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Breaston (right knee) is probable for Sunday's game against the Seahawks.
Impact: He was a limited participant in all of this week's practices and he should be at or near 100 percent on Sunday. Breaston made seven catches for 77 yards and a touchdown against Seattle in Week 6.
Fri. Nov 13, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Iwebema (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game.

News: Patrick (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: He was a limited participant in all of this week's practices. We're optimistic that Patrick will be able to play on Sunday.
Fri. Nov 13, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Morey (concussion, questionable) will probably be a game-time decision on Sunday, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: He practiced on a limited basis on Friday, although he has yet to be cleared for contact. Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt expects Morey to be cleared on Saturday and he seems cautiously optimistic that Morey will be available for his usual special teams duties on Sunday.
Fri. Nov 13, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Gandy (pelvis, questionable) practiced on a limited basis on Friday. He is expected to play on Sunday, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: The Cardinals have started the same five offensive linemen since the beginning of the 2008 season and it looks like that streak will remain intact on Sunday.
Fri. Nov 13, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Berry's teammate Chike Okeafor (back) missed practice for a third straight day on Friday. He is doubtful for Sunday's game, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: Either Berry or Will Davis is expected to start in Okeafor's place. We're guessing that Berry will get the nod.

Fri. Nov 13, 2009 | RotoWire
News: The Cardinals are using more two tight end sets in the red zone, which bodes well for Becht, the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: Becht scored a touchdown last week -- his first since 2007 -- but we're still not high on his prospects. He is averaging fewer than one catch per game this season and the Cardinals don't throw to their tight ends much.
Fri. Nov 13, 2009 | RotoWire
News: The Cardinals are using more two tight end sets in the red zone, which bodes well for Patrick (knee), the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: Patrick has scored a touchdown in each of his last two games after going 14 regular-season games without a score. He's worth a look in deep leagues, but remember that he's averaging fewer than two receptions per game this season and the Cardinals don't throw to their tight ends very often.
Thu. Nov 12, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Stephens-Howling has a good matchup this week because the Seahawks have struggled in kickoff coverage this season, the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: That's the good news. The bad news is that Stephens-Howling is only averaging 22.6 yards per return this season. He faced Seattle back on Oct. 18 and gained 17 yards on just one return. The Seahawks only kicked off twice that day since they were held to three points.
Thu. Nov 12, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Morey (concussion) probably won't play on Sunday, the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: It was recently revealed that Morey suffered a concussion in Week 8. He played in Week 9, but didn't feel right. Morey has yet to practice in Week 10 and it sounds like he will be inactive on Sunday. If that happens, the Cardinals will miss him on special teams.
Thu. Nov 12, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Okeafor (back) missed practice again on Thursday, the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: The Cardinals remain optimistic that Okeafor will be able to play on Sunday against Seattle. He probably needs to participate in at least some of Friday's practice in order to make that a reality.
Thu. Nov 12, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Hayes (hips, back) missed practice again on Thursday, the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: Hayes says that he's feeling better, but he's still reporting pain in his hips and back. He says his hips have rotated out of position. The Cardinals remain optimistic that Hayes will be able to play on Sunday. He will probably need to participate in at least some of Friday's practice in order to play on Sunday against the Seahawks.
Thu. Nov 12, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Campbell recorded half a sack in Week 9 because the NFL announced a statistical change on Wednesday, the Cardinals' official site reports.

News: Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt is optimistic that Morey (head), who missed Wednesday's practice, will be able to play in Sunday's game, the Cardinals' official site reports.

Thu. Nov 12, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt is optimistic that Hayes (back), who missed Wednesday's practice, will be able to play in Sunday's game, the Cardinals' official site reports.

Thu. Nov 12, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt is optimistic that Berry's teammate Chike Okeafor (back), who missed Wednesday's practice, will be able to play in Sunday's game, the Cardinals' official site reports.

News: Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt is optimistic that Okeafor (back), who missed Wednesday's practice, will be able to play in Sunday's game, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: This is encouraging news. We should get a better read on Okeafor's status after the Cardinals practice on Thursday and Friday. In other Okeafor news, the NFL announced a statistical change on Wednesday. Okeafor's Week 9 sack is now split between Okeafor and Calais Campbell.
Wed. Nov 11, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Iwebema (knee) missed Wednesday's practice, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: This was his first missed practice in two weeks, so Iwebema may have suffered a setback. He's a backup defensive lineman.
Wed. Nov 11, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Morey (head) missed Wednesday's practice, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: Arizona would miss him on special teams if he can't play on Sunday, but few fantasy teams would notice.
Wed. Nov 11, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Highsmith's teammate Gerald Hayes (back) missed Wednesday's practice, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: It's too early to have a good read on Hayes' Week 10 status. If Hayes can't play, then Highsmith would step into a starting role. However, Highsmith only mustered two tackles in a starting role in Week 9, so he's not someone that you need to rush to pick up.
Wed. Nov 11, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Berry's teammate Chike Okeafor (back) missed Wednesday's practice, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: It's too early to have a good read on Okeafor's Week 10 status. If he can't play, then Berry would step into a starting role against Seattle, which would make him a more desirable IDP option. Berry has three sacks in a part-time role this season, including one in Week 6 against Seattle.
Wed. Nov 11, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Gandy missed Wednesday's practice due to an abdominal muscle injury, the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt hopes that Gandy will be able to play against Seattle on Sunday. If he cannot, then Jeremy Bridges would probably step in at left tackle.
Wed. Nov 11, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Okeafor (back) missed Wednesday's practice, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: Specifics are sketchy, but it's early in the week, so Okeafor still has time to get ready for Sunday's game against the Seahawks. If Okeafor can't play, then Bertrand Berry would step into his starting role.
Wed. Nov 11, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Hayes (back) missed Wednesday's practice, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: He's having trouble shaking this injury, which unexpectedly kept him out of last Sunday's game. It's too early to have a good read on Hayes' Week 10 status. Ali Highsmith would start if Hayes cannot.

Wed. Nov 11, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Breaston (right knee) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: He should be available for normal duty as Arizona's No. 3 receiver and top punt returner on Sunday against Seattle. Breaston has been playing through this injury for months and he's on pace for over 1,000 receiving yards for a second straight season.
Wed. Nov 11, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Boldin (right ankle) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, the Cardinals' official site reports.

News: Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt still has a lot of confidence in Leinart, the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: Leinart had a tough day on Sunday. He entered Arizona's game at Chicago with a 20-point lead and promptly threw an interception that helped the Bears cut their deficit to 13. Leinart was then removed from the game in favor of starter Kurt Warner. Whisenhunt said, "I'm not concerned at all. The only thing you worry about is Matt's own psyche because he's worked very hard to improve his game and get better...It's a tough mistake to make, but what I've seen from Matt, especially in the past six months with the way he's responded and the way he's worked, I don't have any concerns or questions about him moving forward." We agree with Whisenhunt that it's not prudent to read much into Leinart's lone pass attempt at Chicago. The Cardinals are still committed to Leinart as Warner's successor, although the plan is for Leinart to sit on the bench for another season and a half.

News: Even though he was outplayed by Early Doucet in Week 9, Urban may still lead Doucet on the Cardinals' depth chart, the team's official site reports.
Impact: Urban is a better special teams player and therefore he might stay ahead of Doucet in the battle to serve as the Cardinals' fourth receiver. Head coach Ken Whisenhunt is calling this a week-to-week decision and he hasn't announced his Week 10 verdict. With 16 receptions for 173 yards and zero touchdowns in eight games this regular season, Urban is a minimal fantasy consideration.

News: Even though he outplayed Jerheme Urban in Week 9, Doucet may still be behind Urban on the Cardinals' depth chart, the team's official site reports.
Impact: Urban is a better special teams player and therefore he might stay ahead of Doucet in the battle to serve as the Cardinals' fourth receiver. Head coach Ken Whisenhunt is calling this a week-to-week decision and he hasn't announced his Week 10 verdict. Doucet has a bright future, but he might be destined for a lot more healthy inactives during the second half of this season because of Arizona's depth at wide receiver.
Mon. Nov 9, 2009 | STATS
News: Breaston had 66 receiving yard and a touchdown as the Cardinals clobbered Chicago 41-21 on Sunday.
Impact: With Anquan Boldin out, Breaston got his second start. Although his value isn't quite as high when Boldin returns to the lineup, he has still racked up respectable numbers at times in Arizona's pass-happy attack.
Mon. Nov 9, 2009 | STATS
News: Fitzgerald had 123 yards receiving and a pair of touchdowns as the Cardinals easily handled the Bears 41-21 on Sunday.
Impact: This is what fantasy owners were hoping for from the top wide receiver chosen in many drafts. It was just the second 100-yard game of the season after he reached that mark in all four playoff games last season, but Fitzgerald does now have 632 yards and seven touchdowns.
Mon. Nov 9, 2009 | STATS
News: Hightower had 15 carries for 77 yards in the Cardinals' 41-21 drubbing of Chicago on Sunday.
Impact: Hightower has been losing carries to rookie Beanie Wells, but this was the first game in five weeks in which he did not score a touchdown, and he has also been a consistent option out of the backfield in the passing game.
Mon. Nov 9, 2009 | STATS
News: Warner tied a career high by throwing for five touchdowns after getting picked off five times the previous week as the Cardinals easily handled the Bears 41-21 on Sunday.
Impact: Warner was at his best after a miserable performance in a 34-21 loss to Carolina. He racked up 261 passing yards and did not throw an interception, showing he's still a solid fantasy option within an offense filled with weapons.
Mon. Nov 9, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Patrick tweaked a knee during Sunday's win at Chicago, Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt told the Cardinals' official site on Monday.
Impact: Patrick went back into the game and Whisenhunt doesn't sound concerned. Patrick should be available in Week 10 against Seattle.
Mon. Nov 9, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Boldin (right ankle) should be at or near 100 percent in Week 10, Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt told the Cardinals' official site on Monday.
Impact: Whisenhunt's decision to rest Boldin in Week 9 seems to have paid off. The Cardinals won handily and Boldin should finally be able to put this lingering injury in the past. Whisenhunt added that he isn't concerned about the critical comments that Boldin made after Sunday's game, including that Whisenhunt wasn't "man enough" to inform him that he wasn't in the Cardinals' Week 9 lineup. Whisenhunt likes that Boldin is a competitor that wants to play. There's a big difference, though, between wanting to play and being openly disrespectful as Boldin was. There is growing speculation that Boldin -- who has been feuding with the Cardinals' organization for the last two years -- will get his wish and be traded this offseason.
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Boldin (right ankle) was listed as inactive for Sunday's game at Chicago because Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt was concerned that Boldin would be susceptible to reinjury due to less than ideal field conditions, Fox's Pam Oliver reported during the game broadcast.
Impact: Boldin, who felt good during Friday's practice and Sunday's warmup, was very upset with Whisenhunt's decision. We think that Whisenhunt was smart to give Boldin a breather, since he was unable to finish the Cardinals' previous two games due to the injury. Hopefully Boldin, who has been limited by nagging injuries virtually all season, will be close to 100 percent in Week 10. Assuming that Boldin's health allows, he should be productive since the Cardinals are heading into an easy part of their schedule. Their next three games are against Seattle, St. Louis and Tennessee.

News: Breaston's (right knee) teammate Anquan Boldin's (right ankle) relationship with the Cardinals took another sour turn on Sunday and he probably won't play for Arizona next season, Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: This is an important item to file away in keeper leagues. Boldin is under contract through the 2010 season, but if he is traded or released this offseason, Breaston could be in for a substantial promotion.
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Ware made his first NFL interception during Sunday's victory over the Bears.
Impact: The sixth-year pro comes off the bench and sees most of his action in dime situations.
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Boldin's (right ankle) relationship with the Cardinals took another sour turn on Sunday and he probably won't play for Arizona next season, Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: Boldin exploded on Sunday after he was listed as inactive even though he felt he was healthy enough to play. He fumed that none of the Cardinals' coaches were "man enough" to inform him and claimed he found out when he noticed that his equipment had been removed from his locker. Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt disputes Boldin's story and some of Boldin's teammates are unhappy that his tantrum is taking attention away from their impressive 41-21 win at Chicago. Boldin has been whining about his contract for two years and his poisoned relationship with the Cardinals also included a sideline shouting match with then-offensive coordinator Todd Haley during last year's NFC Championship. Boldin is under contract through next season, but it's becoming more likely that he will be traded during the upcoming offseason.
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Spach's (right ankle) teammates Ben Patrick and Anthony Becht each caught touchdown passes in Sunday's win at Chicago.
Impact: Spach has been out for about a month. He's getting close to full strength, but with Patrick and Becht playing well (Patrick also caught a touchdown pass last week), there's no rush to get him back into the lineup.
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Wilson made five tackles (four solo) in Sunday's win over the Bears.
Impact: At the halfway point of the regular season, Wilson has 36 tackles (32 solo), one interception and half a sack. He's still a player that opposing teams need to keep track of, but Wilson doesn't look like the same guy that recorded eight sacks in 2005 and four interceptions in 2006.
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Rodgers-Cromartie (left ankle) made a season-high six tackles (all solo) and blocked a field goal in Sunday's win over the Bears.
Impact: DRC is a versatile player that is steadily improving in his second NFL season. It should be fun to watch him continue to develop.
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: McFadden made six tackles (all solo) in Sunday's win over the Bears.
Impact: He is averaging 5.0 tackles per game this regular season, but he doesn't have any interceptions. In fact, McFadden only has seven picks in 59 career regular-season games.
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Highsmith started Sunday's game since Gerald Hayes (back) was a surprise inactive, but he only made two tackles (both solo).
Impact: There's no need to pick him up right now. Highsmith is undersized and he's still acclimating to the NFL. Plus, there's a good chance that Hayes will return next week.
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Haggans recorded a sack and two tackles (both solo) in Sunday's win at Chicago.
Impact: He's worthy of consideration in deep IDP leagues. Haggans has 32 tackles (26 solo), 2.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in eight games this regular season.
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Okeafor recorded a sack and three tackles (all solo) in Sunday's win at Chicago.
Impact: He has three sacks in his last four games and he leads the Cardinals with four sacks this season. Okeafor could be a good under-the-radar IDP pickup for the second half of the season; he brings a pass-rusher's mentality to his outside linebacker position.
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Dockett (right ankle) recorded his first sack since Week 1 on Sunday.
Impact: While Dockett broke through with a sack on Sunday, he recorded a season-low one tackle. He's always a threat to break out -- like he did with three sacks in the Super Bowl last season -- but his statistical contributions are often minimal.
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Rackers (right hamstring) made both of his field-goal attempts (43 and 30 yards) and all five of his PATs on Sunday.
Impact: The Cardinals' offense looked great on Sunday and Rackers turned in a season-high 11 points. More good things could be in store during the second half of the season. Arizona only has two outdoor games remaining (at Tennessee and at San Francisco) and their next three games are against three struggling teams: the Seahawks, Rams and Titans.
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Leinart played one series in Sunday's 41-21 win at Chicago. His only pass attempt resulted in an interception.
Impact: The Cardinals tried to rest starting quarterback Kurt Warner in the blowout, but Warner reentered the game after Leinart's interception. Unless Warner gets hurt, Leinart probably won't receive significant playing time in 2009 or 2010.
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Becht made one reception on Sunday and it resulted in a 15-yard touchdown.
Impact: The Cardinals rarely throw to their tight ends, but Becht and his position mate Ben Patrick each caught touchdown passes on Sunday and Patrick also reeled one in last week. Becht is worth a look in very deep leagues, however, we think Patrick is a better fantasy option and Stephen Spach (ankle) is still hanging around despite missing his fourth straight game on Sunday.
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Patrick made two receptions for 15 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's win at Chicago.
Impact: While he only has seven receptions in four games, Patrick has scored a touchdown in each of his last two contests. In fact, even though the Cardinals rarely throw to their tight ends, the group has accounted for three touchdowns in Arizona's last two games. Patrick is evolving into a viable option in touchdown-heavy leagues.
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Even without Anquan Boldin (ankle) in the lineup, Urban was only targeted once on Sunday. He was held without a catch.
Impact: It's a bad sign when your team throws 32 times for 261 yards and five touchdowns and you're only targeted once. That's what happened to Urban on Sunday and he may have been surpassed on the depth chart by Early Doucet. Doucet saw his first action of the 2009 regular season on Sunday and made four catches for 31 yards.
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Wells rushed 13 times for 72 yards in Sunday's 41-21 win at Chicago.
Impact: Tim Hightower contributed 15 carries for 77 yards as the Cardinals rushed for a season-high 182 yards and also passed for 261 yards and five touchdowns. Wells is a hard-nosed runner that seems to be adjusting well to the NFL; he has rushed 35 times for 186 yards in his last three contests. There's a lot to like about Wells in the long term, although in the short term, he's still held back by Hightower's presence and the fact that the Cardinals love to throw the ball.
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Hightower rushed 15 times for 77 yards in Sunday's 41-21 win at Chicago. He added one reception for 11 yards.
Impact: Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt must be thrilled with this offensive performance. The Cardinals rushed for a season-high 182 yards (Chris Wells contributed 13 carries for 72 yards) and they were also able to move the ball through the air for 261 yards and five touchdowns. Heading into the game, Whisenhunt was unhappy with the Cardinals' NFL-worst rushing unit and the fact that quarterback Kurt Warner was dumping off so many short passes to Hightower and others. Things may not always work out as well as they did on Sunday, but the Cardinals are heading into the easiest chunk of their schedule with upcoming games against Seattle, St. Louis and Tennessee.
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Breaston (right knee) made five receptions for 66 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's win at Chicago. He also rushed once for 25 yards and averaged four yards on four punt returns.
Impact: He served as Arizona's No. 2 receiver since Anquan Boldin (ankle) was a surprise inactive. Boldin will probably return next week, but Breaston has been a solid performer with and without Boldin in the lineup. Breaston is averaging 5.0 receptions and 66.6 receiving yards per game this season. He should benefit from an easy upcoming schedule; Arizona's next three games are against the Seahawks, Rams and Titans.
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Fitzgerald caught nine passes for 123 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's win at Chicago.
Impact: Even without fellow receiver Anquan Boldin -- who was a surprise inactive due to an ankle injury -- deflecting attention, Fitzgerald put together his best game of the season. He could be poised for a nice run, since the Cardinals' next three games are against three struggling teams (Seattle, St. Louis and Tennessee).
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Warner completed 22-of-32 passes for 261 yards and five touchdowns in Sunday's win at Chicago.
Impact: He bounced back nicely from last week's disastrous six-turnover effort, especially considering that starting receiver Anquan Boldin (ankle) was a surprise inactive. There's a good chance that Boldin will be back next week. Warner and the Cardinals could be poised for a nice run -- their next three games are against three struggling teams (Seattle, St. Louis and Tennessee).
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Doucet made four catches for 31 yards in Sunday's win at Chicago.
Impact: He saw his first action of the 2009 regular season because Anquan Boldin (ankle) was inactive. Doucet significantly outperformed Jerheme Urban on Sunday and it's possible that Doucet will serve as Arizona's fourth receiver -- ahead of Urban -- even after Boldin returns (which will probably happen in Week 10). Doucet was targeted four times on Sunday and Urban was only targeted once (he did not make a catch).
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Urban's teammate Anquan Boldin (ankle) is out, so Urban should see additional targets during Sunday's game against the Bears, Chris Mortensen of ESPN.com reports.
Impact: Urban and Early Doucet are likely to share the number three wideout role vacated by Steve Breaston, who will move into the starting lineup in Boldin's absence.
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Doucet's teammate Anquan Boldin (ankle) is out, and Doucet could see additional targets during Sunday's game against the Bears, Chris Mortensen of ESPN.com reports.
Impact: Doucet and Jerheme Urban will likely split the number three wideout role on Sunday, with Steve Breaston moving into the starting lineup.
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Wright (thumb) is active for Sunday's game against Chicago.
Impact: Wright has just one carry all season and should not be on anyone's fantasy radar.
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Spach (right ankle) is inactive for Sunday's game against Chicago.
Impact: Ben Patrick and Anthony Becht will be the active tight ends for Arizona.
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Rolle (left foot) is active for Sunday's game against Chicago.
Impact: Rolle will start at free safety against the Bears, who have thrown the third-most interceptions in the league.
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Rodgers-Cromartie (left ankle) is active for Sunday's game against Chicago.
Impact: Interception-prone Jay Cutler may give DRC and his secondary mates some turnover opportunities on Sunday.

News: Rackers (right hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against Chicago.
Impact: He's attempted just one field goal over the last two games but will be available Sunday if you need him.

News: Iwebema (knee) is active for Sunday's game against Chicago.
Impact: Iwebema is a depth guy along the Cardinals' defensive line.
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Hayes (back) is inactive for Sunday's game against Chicago.
Impact: With Hayes inactive, Ali Highsmith will fill in.
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Dockett (right ankle) is active for Sunday's game against Chicago.
Impact: Dockett will be available if you need him.
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Breaston (knee) is active for Sunday's game against Chicago.
Impact: Anquan Boldin (ankle) is out, which makes Breaston a much more appealing option than he would have been if Boldin played.
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Boldin (ankle) is listed as inactive and will not play Sunday against Chicago, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: This one's a surprise, since Boldin was expected to play after Friday's practice and looked OK in pregame warmups Sunday morning. Steve Breaston's value gets a boost.
Nov 8, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Boldin (ankle) is on the field warming up and signs point to him playing Sunday, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Impact: Signs may point to Boldin playing this week, but wait until the official inactive report comes out to make a roster decision on Boldin.

News: Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt believes that the Cardinals' NFL-worst running game -- which is anchored by a time-share between Hightower and Chris Wells -- is improving, the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: Whisenhunt thought that the Cardinals ran well at times last week, but a sizable deficit forced them to pass on 46 of 63 downs. Game situations have had a big impact on the Cardinals' play selection this year. They are averaging 23.0 rushes per game in their four wins and only 15.3 in their three losses. Overall, the Cardinals are running the ball 42 percent of the time this season. Since Hightower and Wells are splitting carries roughly 50/50, that's not providing either player with a heavy workload. Hightower is in a better position since he has 39 receptions (Wells has four) and he is a better goal-line runner (he has five touchdowns to Wells' one). A caveat on the receptions is that Whisenhunt wants quarterback Kurt Warner to have more success downfield and to dump fewer short passes off to Hightower.

News: Rodgers-Cromartie (left ankle) is probable for Sunday's game at Chicago.
Impact: He was a full participant in all of this week's practices and he has a good matchup against the Bears, who have thrown 11 interceptions in seven games this season. That figure is tied for the third-most in the NFL.
Fri. Nov 6, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Rackers (right hamstring) is probable for Sunday's game at Chicago.
Impact: He was a full participant in Thursday's and Friday's practices and he should be fine to play on Sunday. Rackers and the Cardinals seem to be lucking out, since good weather is expected.
Fri. Nov 6, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Iwebema (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game.
Impact: He was a limited participant in all of this week's practices. Health-wise, he should be available for a backup role, but he might not crack Arizona's gameday rotation since they need to designate eight inactive players from their 53-man roster.
Fri. Nov 6, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Hayes (back) is questionable for Sunday's game at Chicago, but he is expected to play, the Cardinals' official site reports.

Impact: He should be fine to start at free safety. This is a good matchup for Rolle; the Bears have thrown 11 interceptions this season, tied for the third-most in the NFL.
Fri. Nov 6, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Fitzgerald's teammate Anquan Boldin (ankle) is expected to play on Sunday at Chicago, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: There are two schools of thought here. One is that Fitzgerald would receive more looks without Boldin. The other, which we side with, is that Boldin's presence should help to take some heat off Fitzgerald. The Bears have a good pass defense, though, so this shouldn't be an easy week for the Arizona passing game to break out.
Fri. Nov 6, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Warner's teammate Anquan Boldin (ankle) is expected to play on Sunday, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: This is good news for Warner, as is the fact that nice weather is predicted for the game in Chicago. On the other hand, the Bears have a solid pass defense that is yielding fewer than 200 yards per game this season and Warner is coming off a horrible six-turnover effort. This probably won't be the easiest week for the Arizona passing game to get back on track.
Fri. Nov 6, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Doucet's teammate Anquan Boldin (ankle) is expected to play on Sunday, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: This is a bit of a surprise. As a result, Doucet should either be inactive or a minimal part of the Arizona offense.

News: Urban's teammate Anquan Boldin (ankle) is expected to play on Sunday, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: This is a bit of a surprise. It means that Urban will likely play a minimal role on Sunday.
Fri. Nov 6, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Breaston (right knee) is listed as probable for Sunday's game at Chicago.
Impact: He is expected to play against a solid Chicago pass defense. In a bit of a surprise, so is his teammate Anquan Boldin (ankle). Breaston is having a good season as Arizona's No. 3 receiver -- he's on pace for 1,000 receiving yards for a second straight season -- but he would be a better option if Boldin were sidelined.
Fri. Nov 6, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Boldin (right ankle, questionable) practiced on Friday and looked good. While he will officially be a game-day decision, he is likely to play on Sunday at Chicago, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: So much for the speculation that the Cardinals would hold Boldin out of Sunday's game in an effort to get him back to full strength. We're still cautious about recommending Boldin too highly this week since he has been unable to finish Arizona's last two games due to the injury. Plus, the Bears are allowing fewer than 200 passing yards per game this season.
Fri. Nov 6, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Wright (thumb) is probable for Sunday's game against Chicago after participating fully in practice all week, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: Wright dislocated his thumb during last Sunday's loss to the Panthers, but isn't expected to miss any time.
Fri. Nov 6, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt praised Urban on Thursday, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: Some observers have been critical of Urban because his stats (16 receptions for 173 yards and zero touchdowns) are on pace to fall short of his 2008 regular-season totals (34 receptions for 448 yards and four touchdowns). Also, Urban dropped a pass last week that resulted in a key interception. Whisenhunt likes Urban's speed and feels that his stats are held in check because of the Cardinals' deep receiving corps. Urban could be in line for a larger role this week if starting receiver Anquan Boldin (ankle) is sidelined, but even if Boldin is inactive, Urban is expected to split the Cardinals' No. 3 receiver position with Early Doucet.
Fri. Nov 6, 2009 | RotoWire
News: The Week 8 sack that was shared by Campbell and Chike Okeafor is now being credited solely to Okeafor, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: The NFL announced the statistical change on Thursday. Campbell, Okeafor and Bertrand Berry are now tied for the team lead with three sacks apiece.
Fri. Nov 6, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Okeafor is now being credited with a full Week 8 sack, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: He and Calais Campbell initially shared the sack; Okeafor is now receiving full credit thanks to a statistical change that the NFL announced on Thursday. Okeafor, Campbell and Bertrand Berry are tied for the team lead with three sacks apiece.

News: Becht might be a healthy inactive on Sunday, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: Stephen Spach (ankle) should be healthy enough to return from a three-game absence, though he is still rusty and therefore could be inactive. Spach, Becht and Ben Patrick are likely competing for two active roster spots. The Cardinals don't throw to their tight ends often, so none of the players are highly regarded fantasy options.
Fri. Nov 6, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Patrick might be a healthy inactive on Sunday, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: Stephen Spach (ankle) should be healthy enough to return from a three-game absence, though he is still rusty and therefore could be inactive. News: With Stephen Spach (ankle) almost fully healthy, Byrd is buried even deeper on the Cardinals' depth chart, the team's official site reports.
Impact: Byrd is fourth on Arizona's depth chart and the Cardinals use their tight ends less than most teams. Byrd hasn't appeared in a game this regular season and he could be the odd man out the next time the Cardinals make a roster move.
Fri. Nov 6, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Spach (right ankle) looks rusty, Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt told the team's official site on Thursday.
Impact: He hasn't appeared in a game since Oct. 11, although he was a full participant in practice on Wednesday and Thursday. Spach should be healthy enough to play on Sunday, but he could still be listed as an inactive. The Cardinals are expected to activate only two of their four tight ends since they rely on the position less than most teams. Spach, Ben Patrick and Anthony Becht are probably fighting for the two active spots since Dominique Byrd is likely to be a healthy inactive.
Fri. Nov 6, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Dockett (right ankle) said on Thursday that he is being double-teamed more than half the time this season, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: He believes this is the biggest reason why he only has one sack in seven games this regular season. On the positive side, Dockett already has nine tackles for loss (his career high is the 11 that he racked up in 2004). Dockett is getting a lot of praise from coaches, players, media and other NFL observers, but that often isn't translating into fantasy success. He only has six sacks in his last 31 regular-season games dating back to the middle of the 2007 season.
Thu. Nov 5, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Rackers (right hamstring) was a full participant in Thursday's practice, the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: This is a very good sign after he was limited on Wednesday. Rackers strained his right hamstring during pregame warmups last Sunday. He was able to fill his normal role in Week 8 and he should be able to do so again this week at Chicago. It sounds like Rackers and the Cardinals will encounter pleasant weather conditions, something that is not always the case in Chicago in November.
Thu. Nov 5, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Hayes (back) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt expects Hayes to play on Sunday at Chicago. He missed Wednesday's practice because of back spasms.

News: Dockett (right ankle) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: In addition to the gimpy ankle, Dockett is also battling neck and knee soreness. He says that just comes with his job description and he expects to play on Sunday against the Bears.

News: Boldin (right ankle) missed practice again on Thursday, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: Boldin is reportedly heading towards a game-day decision and there is widespread speculation that he will miss this Sunday's game. Whether or not he is able to practice on Friday could provide a significant clue -- Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt typically likes to see players participate in at least some of a Friday practice in order to play on a Sunday.

News: Boldin (right ankle) probably won't be a Cardinal in 2011, the East Valley Tribune reports.
Impact: Fairly or unfairly, he's gaining a reputation as a whiny, injury-plagued player and his days in Arizona could be numbered. Despite Boldin's complaints over the past two seasons, the Cardinals remain reluctant to give him a contract extension and Boldin is increasingly unlikely to get one. He will be 30 years old when his current deal expires after the 2010 season and the Cardinals could let him leave as a free agent if they don't trade him before then.

News: Doucet will likely split the Cardinals' No. 3 receiver position with Jerheme Urban if Anquan Boldin (ankle) is unable to play on Sunday, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: Doucet hasn't appeared in a game this regular season and a part-time role probably wouldn't lead to much Week 9 production.

News: Urban will likely split the Cardinals' No. 3 receiver position with Early Doucet if Anquan Boldin (ankle) is unable to play on Sunday, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: Urban would be a more compelling Week 9 option if he had the No. 3 role all to himself.

News: Boldin (right ankle) thinks that he will be a game-day decision for Sunday's game at Chicago, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: This may officially be the case, but it's increasingly likely that Boldin will be inactive with an eye towards the future. He has been banged-up virtually all season and he has been unable to finish the Cardinals' last two games. A week off could do a lot of good in the long run.

News: Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt wishes that Hightower wasn't such a large part of the Cardinals' passing game, the team's official site reports.
Impact: Hightower leads all NFL running backs with 39 catches and he has already exceeded his 2008 regular-season total of 34 receptions. The Cardinals are having trouble getting the ball downfield to their best receivers and that is leading to a lot of dump-off passes to Hightower. Even though opponents are paying a lot of attention to the Cardinals' best receivers and even though starting quarterback Kurt Warner doesn't always have a lot of time because of a shaky offensive line, Whisenhunt wants to achieve more success in the downfield passing game. If the Cardinals are successful, then Hightower's role in the passing game will likely decrease.

News: Rodgers-Cromartie (left ankle) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: He should be fine to start on Sunday at Chicago.
Wed. Nov 4, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Spach (right ankle) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: It looks like he will play on Sunday for the first time in almost a month. Spach, though, should spend most of his time as a blocker.
Wed. Nov 4, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Breaston (right knee) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: He has been playing through this injury for months and we expect him to suit up on Sunday. There is a lot of speculation that Anquan Boldin (ankle) will miss the game, which would lead to an expanded role for Breaston.
Wed. Nov 4, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Rackers (hamstring) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: We're optimistic that he will be able to fill his normal role on Sunday at Chicago.
Wed. Nov 4, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Rolle (left foot) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: He played through the injury last week and recorded four tackles (all solo). We're optimistic that Rolle will be able to start this Sunday as well.
Wed. Nov 4, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Hayes (back) missed Wednesday's practice, the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: His status should become clearer as the week progresses. The Cardinals hadn't mentioned Hayes' injury prior to Wednesday.
Wed. Nov 4, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Dockett (right ankle) missed practice on Wednesday, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: He insists that he will play on Sunday. Dockett continues to operate on the fantasy fringe.

News: Boldin (right ankle) missed Wednesday's practice, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: Officially, he remains day-to-day. There is a lot of speculation that the Cardinals will hold Boldin out of Sunday's game in order to get him fully healthy for the second half of the season. If Boldin is sidelined, Steve Breaston would step into his role.
Wed. Nov 4, 2009 | RotoWire
News: The Cardinals should hold Boldin (right ankle) out of Sunday's game, Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: This is a speculative report, although it makes a lot of sense and Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt admitted on Monday that inactivating Boldin with an eye towards the future is a legitimate idea. Boldin suffered the initial injury in Week 6, he was limited in Week 7 and he aggravated the injury in a disappointing Week 8 performance. We agree with Somers that the Cardinals should give Boldin a week off with the goal of getting him healthy for Week 10 and beyond. Whether they will do that, though, remains to be seen. Boldin wants to play through the injury even if he's not 100 percent.
Tue. Nov 3, 2009 | RotoWire
News: The Cardinals placed Dykes (right bicep) on injured reserve Tuesday, the team's official site reports.
Impact: His recovery time is estimated at three-to-four months. Dykes, who appeared in two games for the Cardinals this season, should compete for a roster spot as a backup in 2010.
Mon. Nov 2, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt wants Fitzgerald and the rest of the Cardinals to take more chances downfield, the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: Saying this and accomplishing it are two very different things. The Cardinals have been throwing the ball a lot this season and, despite their efforts, their downfield passing game has been stymied by opposing defenses. As we pointed out in a previous update, Fitzgerald's current YPC is the lowest of his NFL career. The Cardinals have a shaky offensive line and a subpar running game; these facts make it easier for opponents to defend against deep passes. Factoring in a lingering injury to starting receiver Anquan Boldin (ankle) and a tough Week 9 matchup at Chicago, it may be unrealistic to expect the Cardinals to immediately overcome their downfield struggles.
Mon. Nov 2, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt is primarily blaming bad luck (such as tipped passes) for the six turnovers that Warner committed in Week 8. Moving forward, he wants Warner to take more chances downfield, the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: The Cardinals have been throwing the ball a lot this season and, despite their efforts, their downfield passing game has been stymied by opposing defenses. As we pointed out in a previous update, Warner's YPA is his lowest since 2003.

News: Fitzgerald had six catches for 66 yards in the Cardinals' disappointing 34-21 loss at home to Carolina on Sunday.
Impact: Fitzgerald failed to score for the second week in a row and only has one 100-yard game this season. It was an awful lot to expect Fitzgerald to repeat last season's performance, but he's still been a letdown considering how high he went in most drafts.
Mon. Nov 2, 2009 | STATS
News: Wells had eight carries for 47 yards Sunday against Carolina, but failed to score for the sixth time in seven games as the Cardinals lost 34-21.
Impact: Tim Hightower has four touchdowns to Wells' one, but don't blame Wells' lack of carries in this game on his effort. Arizona trailed 28-7 early and essentially abandoned the run. He could bounce back next week at Chicago with better numbers.
Mon. Nov 2, 2009 | STATS
News: Hightower had eight carries for 39 yards and a touchdown Sunday, and also added eight catches for 57 yards, in the Cardinals' ugly 34-21 loss at home to Carolina.
Impact: It's the fourth straight game that Hightower has scored, and that alone makes him more valuable right now than rookie Beanie Wells. His receiving skills - he has 39 receptions, second on the team behind Larry Fitzgerald - also make him a valuable player to own.
Mon. Nov 2, 2009 | STATS
News: Warner threw two touchdowns and had 242 yards through the air but was intercepted five times and fumbled the ball away once in the Cardinals' stunning 34-21 home loss to Carolina on Sunday.
Impact: These are the types of games that Warner will give you from time to time, but with the offensive talent around him it's something you have to live with. Expect him to bounce back next week against Chicago if he's given time to throw.
Mon. Nov 2, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Wright suffered a dislocated thumb during Sunday's loss to the Panthers, the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: Medical personnel put the bone back into place and stitched the wound. Wright said afterward that he's fine. It sounds like he will be available in Week 9, although he rarely touches the ball.
Mon. Nov 2, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Boldin (right ankle) wants to play in Week 9, but Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt says that he might hold him out as a precaution, the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: Boldin's injury will be evaluated throughout the week; he suffered a setback in last Sunday's loss to the Panthers. Whisenhunt said on Monday that he might hold Boldin out of the Cardinals' next game in an effort to get him fully healthy for the second half of the season. Boldin would rather play at less than 100 percent. This will probably be an ongoing story throughout the upcoming week and it's far too early to say whether or not Boldin will be in the Cardinals' lineup on Sunday at Chicago.
Mon. Nov 2, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Berry was held without a tackle for a second straight game on Sunday.
Impact: He has just four tackles in seven games this season, but three of those are sacks. Berry comes off the bench on passing downs. He's a risky option even in deep IDP leagues.
Mon. Nov 2, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Opposing defenses are taking extra precautions to make sure that Warner's teammate Larry Fitzgerald doesn't beat them downfield this season, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: Fitzgerald is averaging 10.8 yards per catch this season, far and away the worst mark of his six-year NFL career. Warner is being forced into a lot of short dump-off passes and his YPA (6.8) is suffering as a result. That figure is his worst since 2003, when he only appeared in three games. It would help if Anquan Boldin (ankle) were healthy, but the oft-injured receiver aggravated a previous injury on Sunday and his Week 9 status is in doubt. Don't get too low on Warner -- he completed an NFL-record 92.3 percent of his passes in Week 2 and he threw for more than 300 yards in Weeks 3 and 5 -- but do recognize some signs of trouble.
Mon. Nov 2, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Doucet might be active for the first time this season in Week 9, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: Anquan Boldin reinjured his right ankle in Week 8 and he might be sidelined or limited in Week 9. The Cardinals only have six receivers on their 53-man roster and one (Sean Morey) plays almost exclusively on special teams. However, even if Doucet plays in Week 9, he isn't likely to receive many targets.
Mon. Nov 2, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Boldin (right ankle) might not play in Week 9, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: This is a speculative report, but it has some merit. Boldin has been battling injuries almost all season and he could benefit from a week off. It will probably take several more days for Boldin's Week 9 status to clear up. Steve Breaston will fill a larger role if Boldin is sidelined or limited.
Mon. Nov 2, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Opposing defenses are taking extra precautions to make sure that Fitzgerald doesn't beat them downfield this season, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: He is averaging only 10.8 yards per catch this season, down considerably from the 14.9 mark that he posted last year and well below his career low (13.4 in 2004). Arizona is frequently being forced into short dump-off passes because their downfield receivers are usually blanketed. Fitzgerald's teammate Anquan Boldin (ankle) was reinjured on Sunday; he has been on almost all of the Cardinals' injury reports this season and a healthy Boldin could help take some heat off Fitzgerald. Don't worry too much about Fitzgerald -- he's still on pace for 107 catches (which would actually be a career high), 1,163 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns -- but do realize that he's having a much harder time getting open downfield this season.
Mon. Nov 2, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Dockett aggravated a right ankle injury on Sunday, but he later returned to the game, the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: He sustained the initial injury in Week 3. We're optimistic that Dockett will be able to play in Week 9, since he was able to finish Sunday's game.
Nov 1, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Rodgers-Cromartie (ankle) is active for Sunday's game against Carolina.
Impact: Feel free to go with Rodgers-Cromartie, who has an interception in two of his last three games.
Nov 1, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Iwebema (knee) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Panthers.
Impact: Iwebema has just two tackles and a sack thus far, so his absence affects the Cards' DE depth more than it does fantasy owners.
Nov 1, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Spach (right ankle) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Panthers.
Impact: As a result, Ben Patrick and Anthony Becht will likely split the Cardinals' tight end duties this week.
Nov 1, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Boldin (right ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the Panthers, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: It's uncertain how close to 100 percent Boldin will be, but he's available if he is someone you normally rely on after toughing it out through the injury last week.
Nov 1, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Rolle (foot) is active for Arizona against the Panthers Sunday.
Impact: He has a good IDP matchup this week. Jake Delhomme is an interception machine.

News: Boldin says he's "moved on" after Sunday's critical comments directed at coach Ken Whisenhunt and his staff.
Impact: Boldin says he has no regrets about what he said but he's "done with it" and it's no longer an issue. Boldin was held out of Sunday's 41-21 victory at Chicago and complained afterward that "no one was man enough" to tell him he was inactive. Boldin will hope to return Sunday against Seattle.
Nov 1, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Urban was targeted three times but held without a reception in Sunday's loss to the Panthers.
Impact: He hasn't been much of a factor so far this season (26 targets, 16 catches and 173 yards in seven games), but he could be worth a look in deep leagues in Week 9 if his teammate Anquan Boldin (ankle) is unable to play. Urban would serve as the third receiver in Arizona's pass-happy offense if Boldin is sidelined.
Nov 1, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Okeafor recorded seven tackles (three solo) and half a sack in Sunday's loss to Carolina.
Impact: It was good to see Okeafor get back on track; he had only eight tackles (seven solo) and a sack in his previous four games.
Nov 1, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Hayes recorded eight tackles (five solo) in Sunday's loss to the Panthers.
Impact: He had just 10 stops (nine solo) in his previous three games. That's par for the course for Hayes. He's inconsistent from week-to-week, but still on track for between 88 and 98 tackles for the fourth straight season.
Nov 1, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Dockett tied his season high with five tackles (all solo) in Sunday's loss to Carolina.
Impact: He has 10 tackles (six solo) in his last two games, but Dockett continues to have trouble finding the sack column. He has just two in his last 15 contests.
Nov 1, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Campbell made a career-high eight tackles (six solo) and half a sack in Sunday's loss to the Panthers.
Impact: Campbell has at least half a sack in four of the Cardinals' seven games, along with 26 tackles (20 solo). The 23-year-old is showing a lot of promise and he should keep getting better.
Nov 1, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Dansby recorded a season-high 12 tackles (seven solo) in Sunday's loss to the Panthers.
Impact: He's becoming a more consistent player and he should be a highly sought-after free agent at the end of the season. Dansby, who will turn 28 on Tuesday, is averaging 7.3 tackles per game this regular season and he has 22 (13 solo) over the Cardinals' last two games.
Nov 1, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Rackers didn't attempt a field goal on Sunday, but he did connect on all three of his extra-point tries.
Impact: He faces a tough matchup (at Chicago) next week. After that, Rackers and the Cardinals will play six of their final eight games of the regular season indoors. The Cardinals' offense hasn't been as potent as it was last season and Rackers' field-goal attempts are down as a result. He is averaging 1.3 field-goal attempts per game this regular season after averaging 1.8 last regular season. Still, the Cardinals' offense is a threat to break out at any time.
Nov 1, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Stephens-Howling caught one pass on Sunday for 14 yards and a touchdown. He averaged 31 yards on four kickoff returns.
Impact: It was a good day for Stephens-Howling, who scored his first NFL touchdown and broke off his longest regular-season kickoff return (53 yards). He still isn't likely to receive many touches from scrimmage this season, but on a positive note, he tightened his grip on the Cardinals' kickoff return duties.
Nov 1, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Patrick caught two passes for 18 yards and a touchdown in Week 8.
Impact: His touchdown catch -- his first in the regular season since 2007 -- came on a one-yard toss from Kurt Warner. We're still not high on Patrick since the Cardinals rarely throw to their tight ends. Plus, Stephen Spach (ankle) has a good chance to return next week and he should cut into Patrick's playing time.
Nov 1, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Hightower rushed eight times for 39 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's loss to the Panthers. He added eight receptions for 57 yards.
Impact: Hightower already has more receptions (39) in seven games this regular season than he did in 16 games last regular season (34). He is splitting carries with Chris Wells (who rushed eight times for 47 yards on Sunday), but Hightower is significantly ahead of Wells in receiving and short-yardage situations.
Nov 1, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Wells rushed eight times for 47 yards in Sunday's loss to the Panthers.
Impact: Tim Hightower rushed eight times for 39 yards. Continuing a season-long trend, Hightower significantly outperformed Wells in the passing game (he made eight catches for 57 yards while Wells was held without a reception) and in short-yardage situations (he scored his fifth touchdown of the season on a one-yard plunge). Arizona was forced to throw the ball 46 times against only 17 runs because they trailed by multiple scores for most of the game.
Nov 1, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Fitzgerald made six catches for 66 yards in Sunday's loss to Carolina.
Impact: The Cardinals' passing game was out of sync; starting quarterback Kurt Warner uncharacteristically committed six turnovers (five interceptions and one fumble). Fitzgerald and the Cardinals could be in for a tough matchup next week at Chicago, where the weather and the Bears' tough pass defense could pose problems.
Nov 1, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Breaston (right knee) made six catches for 57 yards in Sunday's loss to Carolina. He averaged six yards on four punt returns.
Impact: His teammate Anquan Boldin aggravated his sprained right ankle in the third quarter. If Boldin is sidelined or limited in Week 9, Breaston should occupy an expanded role.
Nov 1, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Boldin (right ankle) finished Sunday's game with three catches for 23 yards.
Impact: He missed almost half the game after aggravating his sprained ankle. Boldin's Week 9 status is in doubt; Steve Breaston is in line for an expanded role if Boldin is sidelined or limited.
Nov 1, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Warner turned the ball over six times (five interceptions and one fumble) in Sunday's loss to the Panthers. He completed 27-of-46 passes for 242 yards and two touchdowns.
Impact: The last time he committed six turnovers in a game was in Week 4 of the 2008 season when the Cardinals were thrashed by the Jets, 56-35. Before Sunday's hideous performance, Warner had only committed a total of seven turnovers in six games this regular season. We're not too concerned about Warner in the long run, but there are some signs of trouble. Warner only has two 300-yard games this season (he had seven last regular season) and he has a potentially tough Week 9 matchup. The Cardinals will visit Chicago, where bad weather could be an issue and so could the Bears' tough pass defense. Warner also might be without starting receiver Anquan Boldin; Boldin aggravated an ankle injury on Sunday.
Nov 1, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Boldin left Sunday's game against Carolina in the third quarter after aggravating his sprained right ankle, the Associated Press reports.
Impact: More on the status of Boldin, who was helped from the field with 8:53 to play in the third quarter, as we know it.

News: Spach (right ankle) is not expected to play on Sunday, the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: He has a good chance to return next week since he practiced twice this week after spending two-and-a-half weeks on the sidelines. Ben Patrick and Anthony Becht will likely split the Cardinals' tight end responsibilities -- which mainly include blocking assignments -- on Sunday.

News: Branch attributes his improved play to weight loss and spending more time at defensive end, the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: Even though he was primarily a defensive end prior to entering the NFL in 2007, Branch played nose tackle almost exclusively in 2007 and 2008. He's currently seeing time off the bench at both nose tackle and defensive end. He's also about 25 pounds lighter than he was last season. Branch still isn't receiving a lot of playing time, but he recorded two sacks off the bench last week (the first of his NFL career) and he's moving in the right direction.

News: Ware's teammate Antrel Rolle (left foot) took part in most of Friday's practice and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game, the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: Head coach Ken Whisenhunt said that Rolle's availability for Sunday's game will depend on how his foot reacts over the next 24-48 hours. At this point, we're cautiously optimistic that he will be able to play. Ware will step into Rolle's starting free safety position if Rolle is unable to play.

News: Dykes, who is a member of Arizona's practice squad, suffered a torn right bicep in practice this week, the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: He will undergo surgery and the recovery time is estimated at three-to-four months. This is a tough break for Dykes, a young player who has shown some promise this season and will miss valuable practice time. The good news is that he should be 100 percent long before 2010 training camps open.
Fri. Oct 30, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Breaston's (right knee, probable) teammate Anquan Boldin (right ankle, questionable) might be limited on Sunday, the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: Boldin played pretty well last week and he seems to be feeling significantly better this week. We think that Boldin will play his usual role as Arizona's No. 2 receiver and Breaston will be the Cardinals' third option.
Fri. Oct 30, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Boldin (right ankle) might be limited on Sunday, the Arizona Republic reports. He's officially listed as questionable.
Impact: We're not too concerned, since he played pretty well last week and he seems to be feeling considerably better this week. Boldin participated in all three of Arizona's Week 8 practices; last week, he was only able to participate in one of Arizona's three practices.
Fri. Oct 30, 2009 | RotoWire
News: In addition to a sore left arch, Rolle is dealing with plantar fasciitis. He will probably be a game-day decision on Sunday, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt has established a precedent that players need to participate in at least some of Friday's practice in order to play a substantial role on Sunday. We should, therefore, get more insight into Rolle's Week 8 status on Friday. Matt Ware would step into Rolle's starting free safety spot if he is unable to play.

News: Spach (right ankle) returned to practice on a limited basis Thursday, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: He had been out since Oct. 11. Spach has three catches in four games this regular season. Even if he is able to play on Sunday, he shouldn't receive many targets, especially since his teammate Ben Patrick is back in the fold after missing Arizona's first four regular-season contests due to a suspension.

News: Wells could lead a run-first Arizona offense in 2011, the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: Long-range forecasting is extremely difficult in the ever-changing NFL. Still, this is an interesting note to file away in keeper leagues. While he is currently commanding a pass-happy offense, Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt has a run-first pedigree and he is stockpiling talent that could shift the Cardinals into a run-oriented offense after current quarterback Kurt Warner's contract expires following the 2010 season. Whisenhunt isn't ready to give Wells the starting nod over Tim Hightower at this point, but Wells has a lot more long-term upside.

News: Boldin (right ankle) felt better than head coach Ken Whisenhunt expected on Wednesday, the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: Boldin is expected to play on Sunday. He participated in last week's game despite missing two practices. He had a strong first half (three catches for 75 yards) and then his ankle acted up in the second half and he was unable to add to those totals. Boldin will probably be closer to 100 percent this Sunday.
Wed. Oct 28, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Breaston (right knee) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, according to Arizona's injury report.
Impact: He should be fine to play his normal role as Arizona's No. 3 receiver and top punt returner on Sunday against Carolina. Breaston's teammate Anquan Boldin (ankle) was also a limited participant in Wednesday's practice and Boldin is likely to play a larger role in Week 8 than he did in Week 7.
Wed. Oct 28, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Wilson, who missed some of last Sunday's game due to leg cramps, did not appear on Arizona's Wednesday injury report.
Impact: He was named the NFC's Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday. First-year defensive coordinator Bill Davis is deploying Wilson all over the field and he is getting a lot of chances to blitz.
Wed. Oct 28, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Spach (right ankle) missed practice again on Wednesday, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: He has been out since Oct. 11 and it won't be surprising if he misses his third straight game on Sunday.
Wed. Oct 28, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Iwebema missed Wednesday's practice due to a minor knee injury, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: He will probably be able to play his usual reserve role on Sunday. Iwebema has two tackles and one sack in three games this season.
Wed. Oct 28, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Boldin (right ankle) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: This supports head coach Ken Whisenhunt's recent statement that Boldin is ahead of where he was at this time last week. A week ago, Boldin missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday. Boldin might not be 100 percent on Sunday, but he should play and he should be more of a factor than he was last week.
Wed. Oct 28, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Rolle (left foot) missed Wednesday's practice, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: Head coach Ken Whisenhunt downplayed the injury on Monday, so we're surprised that Rolle sat out on Wednesday. It's still early in the week; we're cautiously optimistic that Rolle will be able to play on Sunday.
Wed. Oct 28, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Rodgers-Cromartie (left ankle) participated in all of Wednesday's practice, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: He is significantly ahead of where we thought he would be at this time, since he was in a walking boot after last Sunday's game. Rodgers-Cromartie even admitted that the speed of his recovery has surprised him. He estimated himself at 85 percent and, barring a setback, he should be fine to play on Sunday against the Panthers.
Tue. Oct 27, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Rolle (left arch) might see more action in the Cardinals' version of the wildcat formation, head coach Ken Whisenhunt told the team's official site.
Impact: He took a direct snap on Sunday and nearly completed a 35-yard pass to Larry Fitzgerald, although Fitzgerald dropped the ball and the play was negated by a penalty. Rolle is a great athlete -- he has nine interceptions and four touchdowns in his last 38 regular-season games -- and he has thrown the ball 75 yards in practice. We don't expect Rolle to see a lot of action in the wildcat formation, but it adds an interesting dimension and a small boost to his value.

News: Wright scored his second TD of the year with a six-yard catch from Kurt Warner on Sunday in a 24-17 road win over the Giants.
Impact: Wright also scored in a road win at Jacksonville this season. In a lighter moment, Wright said he saw a field mouse run onto the field and "wasn't sure if it was a big, old rat." He got plenty of teasing from teammates when he scurried away from the rodent.

News: Wells rushed for 67 yards on 14 carries and one TD on Sunday in a 24-17 road win over the Giants.
Impact: Wells got the bulk of the carries after Tim Hightower lost a fumble on the Cardinals' first series. Wells may have earned the starting job.
Mon. Oct 26, 2009 | STATS
News: Warner finished 26 of 30 for 231 yards Sunday with one TD and one interception in a 24-17 win over the Giants.
Impact: Warner credited the Cardinals' defense as opposed to his passing. "Tonight," Warner said, "we definitely fed off our defense."
Mon. Oct 26, 2009 | STATS
News: Fitzgerald had six catches for 83 yards Sunday in a 24-17 win over the Giants.
Impact: It was a relatively quiet effort for Fitzgerald, who had matched his career high with 13 receptions for 100 yards and a touchdown in the Cardinals' 27-3 win at Seattle on Sunday.
Mon. Oct 26, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Breaston's (right knee) teammate Anquan Boldin (right ankle) should practice more this week, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: It sounds like Boldin will be closer to 100 percent in Week 8. That should relegate Breaston to his typical role as Arizona's No. 3 receiver; he played more than usual in Week 7 because Boldin was limited.
Mon. Oct 26, 2009 | RotoWire
News: The Cardinals are taking a wait-and-see approach with Rodgers-Cromartie's left ankle injury, the team's official site reports.
Impact: Head coach Ken Whisenhunt is calling the injury a "low sprain," which is typically less serious than a high ankle sprain. DRC hopes to play in Week 8, but it will probably be several more days before his status clears up.
Mon. Oct 26, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Boldin (right ankle) should practice more this week, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: Head coach Ken Whisenhunt said on Monday that Boldin, who hobbled during the second half of Sunday's game, didn't suffer a setback. It sounds like Boldin will be closer to 100 percent this week. Last week, he missed two practices and was limited in another.
Mon. Oct 26, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Rolle has some minor soreness in his left arch, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: He should be fine to start in Week 8 against the struggling Panthers. Rolle is striking a better balance between tackles and interceptions in this, his second season since moving from cornerback to safety.
Mon. Oct 26, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Tim Hightower -- not Wells (hip) -- is still the Cardinals' starting running back, head coach Ken Whisenhunt told the team's official site on Monday.
Impact: Wells seemed to claim the top spot on Sunday. Hightower fumbled early in the game and only received six offensive touches to Wells' 17. On Monday, though, Whisenhunt proclaimed that Hightower is still the leader of Arizona's running back rotation. Hightower is a strong goal-line runner, which minimizes Wells' scoring ability. Wells is averaging 8.8 offensive touches per game this regular season and his role should continue to slowly expand.
Mon. Oct 26, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Hightower is still the Cardinals' starting running back, head coach Ken Whisenhunt told the team's official site on Monday.
Impact: Hightower seemed to fall behind Chris Wells on the depth chart on Sunday. Hightower fumbled early in the game and only received six offensive touches to Wells' 17. On Monday, though, Whisenhunt proclaimed that Hightower is still the leader of Arizona's running back rotation. Hightower is a very good short-yardage runner; he has scored 14 touchdowns over the last two regular seasons. He's only averaging 14.3 touches per game this season, though, and he's clearly not a feature back. Wells should continue to gradually cut into Hightower's workload.
Mon. Oct 26, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Rodgers-Cromartie (left ankle) wore a walking boot and was limping after Sunday's game, according to the Cardinals' official site.
Impact: X-rays were negative and his injury is being termed a sprain. "It's OK, I can bounce back quick," DRC proclaimed after the game. We want to see how he progresses throughout the week, especially since speed is a key part of DRC's game. His Week 8 status is currently in doubt.
Mon. Oct 26, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Wilson experienced bad leg cramps during the second half of Sunday's game, according to the Cardinals' official site.
Impact: This doesn't sound serious. Wilson turned in a solid performance on Sunday, although the article says that he added a fumble recovery to his five tackles and an interception and the official NFL stats are crediting that fumble recovery to Matt Ware.
Oct 25, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Breaston (right knee) played more than usual on Sunday because his teammate Anquan Boldin (ankle) was noticeably hobbling, especially in the second half, the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: Breaston was on the field a lot, which makes his one-catch performance even more surprising. He's usually a productive member of the Arizona offense, so we're going to attribute this subpar outing to the Giants' tough pass defense and the fact that the Cardinals spread 20 receptions among nine different receivers. Breaston could play a larger role than normal again next Sunday, depending on how Boldin progresses during the week.
Oct 25, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Boldin (right ankle) was noticeably hobbling during the second half of Sunday's game, the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: This backs up what we observed while watching the game. Boldin is reportedly playing through an injury (a high right ankle sprain) that would sideline many players for multiple weeks, so this will be something to closely monitor moving forward. Boldin played a part-time role in Sunday's game and he may not be 100 percent for at least a couple more weeks. It will be interesting to see whether or not he is able to practice on Wednesday.
Oct 25, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Rodgers-Cromartie has a sprained left ankle, the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact: While it's good news that the initial diagnosis isn't more serious, it's still way too early to say whether or not DRC will be able to play in Week 8.
Oct 25, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Wilson made five tackles (all solo) and his first interception of the season in Sunday's win over the Giants.
Impact: He posed a lot of matchup problems for the Giants because he lined up all over the field. Wilson loves to blitz and he has excellent speed and size. He's not one of those safeties that just drops into deep coverage all game.
Oct 25, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Rolle made eight tackles (six solo) and an interception in Sunday's win over the Giants.
Impact: Rolle is playing well, with three interceptions in his last four games. He made seven or more tackles in three of those contests.
Oct 25, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Dansby recorded a season-high 10 tackles (six solo) in Sunday's win over the Giants.
Impact: Aside from a one-tackle effort in Week 6, Dansby has between six and 10 tackles in all of Arizona's games this regular season. He's a dependable player that should be in for a big free-agent payday at the end of the season.
Oct 25, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Campbell recorded his third sack of the season in Sunday's win over the Giants.
Impact: In his first year as a starter, Campbell is showing a knack for making big plays. He also has two blocked field goals and 18 tackles (14 solo) in Arizona's first six games this regular season.
Oct 25, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Branch made his first two NFL sacks in Sunday's win over the Giants.
Impact: Branch only totaled 20 tackles and zero sacks in his first 20 NFL games, so while he played well on Sunday, we don't think you need to rush to claim him.
Oct 25, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Rackers made his only field-goal attempt (a 30-yarder) and all three of his PATs in Sunday's win over the Giants at Giants Stadium.
Impact: Rackers has already cleared two of his toughest road tests of the season (at Seattle and at the Giants). In the final 10 weeks of the regular season, the Cardinals will play seven games indoors. That boosts Rackers' already substantial value.
Oct 25, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Urban made just one catch for one yard in Sunday's win over the Giants.
Impact: No. 2 receiver Anquan Boldin played through an ankle injury, which kept Urban in his typical spot as Arizona's No. 4 receiver, but it was still surprising that Urban was only targeted once. He totaled 11 targets in Arizona's previous three games.
Oct 25, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Stephens-Howling averaged 21 yards on four Week 7 kickoff returns. He rushed once for a loss of one yard.
Impact: Despite his mediocre production, the Cardinals keep sending Stephens-Howling out there as a kickoff returner. They're still hoping that the speedy rookie will be able to live up to the high potential that he exhibited during the preseason.
Oct 25, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Wright caught a six-yard touchdown pass in Sunday's win over the Giants.
Impact: That was his only touch of the game and he has just four touches this season. Two of those have been short touchdown receptions, but Wright isn't getting enough chances to merit consideration except in very deep leagues.
Oct 25, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Breaston (right knee) only made one reception for 23 yards in Sunday's win over the Giants.
Impact: His catch came on the game's first play from scrimmage. Strangely, Breaston was only targeted one more time in the contest (two others were wiped out by penalties). He was out there on all of Arizona's punt returns (because of several fair catches and kicks out of bounds he only gained one yard on one return). It didn't seem like Breaston aggravated his knee injury. The Cardinals' passing game was only modestly effective against the Giants' top-ranked pass defense, but it's still surprising that Breaston was such a minimal factor, especially with No. 2 receiver Anquan Boldin (ankle) playing at less than 100 percent. We expect Breaston -- who averaged 80 receiving yards per game in his first four games this regular season -- to play a larger role next week, however, the Cardinals will oppose another tough pass defense (Carolina's).
Oct 25, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Fitzgerald led the Cardinals with six catches and 83 receiving yards in Week 7.
Impact: He made his longest catch of the season, even though it was a modest 27-yarder. Fitzgerald was targeted 13 times and the Giants' top-ranked pass defense held him in check. Another tough pass defense (Carolina's) is on tap next week, and Fitzgerald only has one 100-yard game in the first seven weeks of the regular season, but he's getting a lot of looks and a breakout seems likely in the near future.
Oct 25, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Boldin (right ankle) made three receptions for 75 yards in Sunday's win over the Giants.
Impact: Despite his injury, he still managed to record his longest catch of the season (44 yards). All of his catches and five of his seven targets came in the first half. Boldin was spotted riding an exercise bike on the sidelines after halftime; perhaps he had trouble getting loose after the intermission. Assuming that Boldin didn't suffer a setback, this was about as good a performance as could be expected since Boldin faced the NFL's best pass defense at less than 100 percent after missing a substantial amount of practice time earlier in the week.
Oct 25, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Warner completed 20-of-36 passes for 231 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's win over the Giants.
Impact: The Giants entered the game with the NFL's best pass defense and Big Blue held Warner to season-lows in both completions and passing yards. Fortunately for Warner and the Cardinals, rookie running back Chris Wells broke out with 14 carries for 67 yards and a touchdown. If Wells can bolster Arizona's NFL-worst running game, that should help Warner moving forward. The Cardinals are still going to be a pass-first team -- they averaged a league-high 44 pass attempts per game entering Week 7 -- but a better-rounded offense would be a welcome change, especially with another very tough pass defense (Carolina's) due to face the Cardinals next week.
Oct 25, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Hightower only rushed four times for nine yards in Sunday's win over the Giants. He scored on a one-yard run, but he also lost a costly fumble. Hightower added two receptions for 11 yards.
Impact: After Hightower fumbled for the third time in Arizona's last four games in the first quarter, Chris Wells seemed to overtake him on the Cardinals' depth chart. Wells finished with 14 carries for 67 yards and a touchdown, as well as three catches for 10 yards. Hightower is still a solid goal-line runner and a capable receiver, plus Wells has his own ball-handling issues, but Wells also has more long-term upside and it looks like he has claimed the lead in this time-share.
Oct 25, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Wells (hip) rushed 14 times for 67 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's win over the Giants. He added three receptions for 10 yards.
Impact: His teammate Tim Hightower lost a fumble early in the game -- his third fumble in the Cardinals' last four contests -- and Wells seemed to overtake Hightower on the depth chart as a result. Hightower only rushed four times for nine yards and a touchdown on Sunday; he also contributed two catches for 11 yards. Wells has his own ball-handling issues (he fumbled for the third time this season on Sunday) and Hightower is still a strong goal-line and receiving option, but Wells has more long-term upside and he seems to have taken the lead in this time-share.
Oct 25, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Rodgers-Cromartie, who was already playing through a broken right index finger, left Sunday's game due to a left ankle injury, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: He was carted to the locker room; details are sketchy at this point. Before leaving the game, DRC continued to exhibit his high potential by recording his third interception of the season.
Oct 25, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Doucet is inactive for Sunday's game against the Giants.
Impact: Anquan Boldin was able to suit Sunday, so Doucet was the odd man out in Week 7.
Oct 25, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Wells (hip) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Giants.
Impact: Wells has been splitting carries with Tim Hightower, but Hightower got the short-yardage carries last week and remains the more attractive fantasy option, at least for the moment.
Oct 25, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Breaston (knee) is listed as active Sunday against the Giants, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: Anquan Boldin is not among the Cards' inactives, but it's uncertain if he is 100 percent, which opens the possibility that Breaston could be a little more involved than usual this week.
Oct 25, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Boldin (right ankle) is listed as active Sunday against the Giants, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact: It's uncertain how close to 100 percent Boldin will be, but he will give it a go this week.
Sat. Oct 24, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt is "optimistic" that Boldin (high right ankle sprain) will play on Sunday night, Peter King reported on NBC Saturday. The Arizona Republic reports that Boldin will likely be on a snap count if he does play.
Impact: Kudos to Boldin for trying to play through a high ankle sprain, a type of injury that usually sidelines players for several weeks. However, he'll clearly be playing at less than 100 percent, and although he had a good practice on Friday, he's probably going to be limited on Sunday night. This dampens Boldin's Week 7 fantasy value. The night kickoff makes him an even riskier play, since you probably won't be able to swap in a replacement if he ends up on the inactive list.
