News: Jones was awarded to the Broncos off waivers on Wednesday.
Impact: He'll battle for a depth spot in the receiving corps during training camp. Jones has produced a few notable preseason games in his career, but that hasn't translated to significant opportunities on Sunday afternoons.

News: The Denver Broncos have been awarded Jones off waivers from Kansas City. The Chiefs signed Jones, who went to Iowa, on March 5 as an unrestricted free agent, but waived him on June 19.
Impact: Jones is a third-year player who has spent time on the active roster with Cleveland in 2003 and New England in 2008, as well as parts of two seasons on the practice squad with the Browns (2003-04) and Patriots ('07). He has not made a catch in the NFL.

News: The Chiefs waived Jones on Friday, the Kansas City Star reports.
Impact: Even with the Chiefs looking for depth at receiver, Jones lasted just over three months with the team.

News: Marshall (hip) was able to run and participate in light drills with boys and girls at his Camp 15 at Aurora's Overland High School on Thursday, but refused to answer any questions about his trade demand, the Denver Post reports.
Impact: Marshall said he feels great and that he has been working out with the Central Florida football team as part of his offseason workouts. While his situation with the Broncos is still very much up in the air, it seems that he should be fully healthy by the time the season starts.

News: The Denver Broncos have released Jones.
Impact: Jones is a fourth-year safety who spent the final month of the 2008 season on the Broncos' roster after joining the club in December. He played in the Broncos' final two games last season, notching two tackles on special teams.
Thu. Jun 18, 2009 | STATS
News: The Denver Broncos have released Moulton.
Impact: Moulton is a first-year cornerback who spent most of the 2008 season on Denver's practice squad.

News: The Denver Broncos released Green on Thursday.
Impact: Green played 64 games with Denver since signing with the team in January 2003. He had 36 special-teams tackles and seven defensive stops with the Broncos.

News: Simms will start the season as the Broncos' backup after Kyle Orton was named the starter by head coach Josh McDaniels, the Denver Post reports.
Impact: While there appeared to be a battle for the job, Orton's more recent experience as a starter, coupled with the fact that he was a main part of the Jay Cutler trade, made it difficult for Simms to pass him on the depth chart.

News: The Broncos have released linebacker Boss Bailey, bringing a quick end to the Bailey brothers reunion in Denver.
Impact: Boss Bailey's agent Jack Reale confirmed Baily had been released. He was signed last March, uniting him with his Pro Bowl cornerback brother Champ Bailey. Boss Bailey played six games for Denver before a left knee injury ended his season in a game at New England on Oct. 20. He was placed on injured reserve and later had microfracture surgery.
Wed. Jun 17, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Bailey (knee) was released by the Broncos on Wednesday, the Denver Post reports.
Impact: Bailey started six games last season before suffering a season-ending knee injury. He was unable to participate in any offseason practices while rehabbing form microfracture surgery. "I wasn't really surprised by it. I understand how the business goes," Bailey said. "It's a business call. I appreciate everything they've done for me since I've been here. Once you're a Bronco, you're always a Bronco."
Wed. Jun 17, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Green was released by the Broncos, the Denver Post reports.
Impact: Green was a popular special teams player who rarely saw the field otherwise.
Tue. Jun 16, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Marshall's (hip) agent, Kennard McGuire, has confirmed that his client has requested a trade from the Broncos, the Denver Post reports. McGuire said "there was a request for a trade. (Broncos owner Pat) Bowlen has said that ownership will do everything in its power to accommodate his wishes."
Impact: Marshall is unhappy with his contract -- which will pay him $2.198 million this season -- but despite what his agent says, don't expect the Broncos to go out of their way to deal the talented wideout. Losing a weapon like Marshall would obviously be counterproductive and his off-field issues would make getting fair value in exchange for him difficult anyway.
Tue. Jun 16, 2009 | RotoWire
News: The Ravens have been mentioned in some circles as a possible destination for Marshall (hip), the Baltimore Sun reports.
Impact: The Ravens always pop into the discussion whenever a big receiving target potentially becomes available. The Ravens could use a true downfield threat, but at this point the rumors are just that.

News: The Broncos have signed Lloyd on the same day a radio station reported holdout Pro Bowl receiver Brandon Marshall wants to follow Jay Cutler out of Denver.
Impact: Lloyd is a seventh-year pro with 15 career touchdown catches who played for Chicago last season. He's also played for Washington and San Francisco.
Mon. Jun 15, 2009 | STATS
News: Marshall requested a trade during a meeting Friday with Broncos owner Pat Bowlen.
Impact: Marshall walked out of the meeting with several boxes of belongings and didn't speak with reporters.
Mon. Jun 15, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Adam Schefter reported Monday on KOA Radio in Denver that Marshall has requested a trade.
Impact: Schefter reports that Marshall told team owner Pat Bowlen on Friday that he wants out of Denver. According to ABC 11 in Denver, the team is aware of the report, but did not have any comment. Marshall's agent did not return phone messages left on Monday. New coach Josh McDaniels probably couldn't have envisioned a more turbulent way to start his time with the Broncos. This story clearly isn't going away anytime soon, and Marshall may follow Jay Cutler out of town before all is said and done.
Mon. Jun 15, 2009 | RotoWire
News: The Broncos have signed Lloyd, the team's official site reports.
Impact: He's reunited with Kyle Orton, who he played with last year in Chicago, but he'll need to impress in camp to make much of an impact with players like Brandon Marshall, Eddie Royal, Jabar Gaffney and Brandon Stokley also on the receiver depth chart.
Mon. Jun 15, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Marshall (hip) skipped all three days of the Broncos mandatory minicamp over the weekend and continues to be upset about his current contract situation, 850 KOA News Radio reports.
Impact: The Broncos are set to pay Marshall $2.198 million this season and he clearly wants to be paid significantly more with extra seasons tacked on. Marshall seems open to a trade if the new team is willing to pay him more but the Broncos would rather hang onto him at this point. Marshall's off-the-field issues and injury history are troublesome to the team and the most likely reasons why he has not been offered a contract extension to date.

News: Moreno has been making a strong impression during the Broncos' mandatory minicamp, the Denver Post reports. On Saturday, he took all of the snaps with the first-team offense during a no-huddle drill against the defensive starters. He ended the drive with a touchdown reception.
Impact: "I like this kid," fellow running back Correll Buckhalter said. "I think he's going to be a heck of a player in this league." Buckhalter and LaMont Jordan still top the depth chart, but Moreno is coming into his own as he gets a stronger grasp of coach Josh McDaniels' offense. He's still not a guarantee to open the year as the starter, but right now he seems to be well on his way to earning that designation.

News: Orton will be the Denver Broncos' starting quarterback. Coach Josh McDaniels made the announcement Saturday as the team readied for Sunday's final day of on-field prep for training camp in late July. The former Chicago Bears quarterback took all the snaps behind the first-team offensive line during Saturday's practice.
Impact: Orton has been competing for the starting position with Chris Simms. Orton came to Denver on April 3 as part of the trade that allowed the Bears to get ex-Broncos No. 1 quarterback Jay Cutler. Orton completed 272 of 465 passes for 2,812 yards with Chicago last season, throwing 18 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
Sat. Jun 13, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels has named Orton the team's starting quarterback, the Denver Post reports.
Impact: It was believed that the job was still somewhat up in the air between Orton and Chris Simms, but it appears the job is simply Orton's to lose at this point. With Brandon Marshall and Eddie Royal at his disposal, we'll get a chance to see what Orton can do with better receivers than he ever had during his time with the Bears.
Fri. Jun 12, 2009 | STATS
News: Marshall is a no-show at a mandatory minicamp. Coach Josh McDaniels said Friday he would meet with Marshall later in the day to discuss his absence.
Impact: Marshall had hip surgery on April 1 and missed part of the Broncos' offseason passing camp. Because of the surgery, Marshall wasn't expected to work out during Friday's minicamp, but team officials said he was required to attend meetings and work with medical personnel.
Fri. Jun 12, 2009 | RotoWire
News: Marshall (hip) did not report to the team's mandatory minicamp on Friday, the Denver Post reports.
Impact: Marshall will most likely be fined by the team for skipping the mandatory practice, although he seems much more intent on showing his lack of confidence with the club. Marshall is now blaming the team doctors for misdiagnosing his hip injury last year, which he is still rehabbing from, and continues to be upset about his contract, which will pay him $2.198 million this season. Marshall may be trying to force his way out of Denver, but it will be difficult for the team to send him away given his modest salary compared to the league's other top receivers this season.
