News: Bush could end up returning punts once again for Miami, according to the Florida South Sun-Sentinel.
Impact: The old regime didn't want to risk injury to Bush so the job was handed to WR Davone Bess. The new regime however likes the depth they have at RB and also wants the ball in the hands of their best playmaker as much as possible.

News: Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin would like to name a starting QB no later than Week 3 of the pre-season, according to the Miami Herald.
Impact: Not a shock here as Week 3 is generally a dress rehearsal for the regular season. The battle between David Garrard and Moore is likely to last most of the off-season but in reality whomever wins the job is just a caretaker for Ryan Tannehill.

News: Garrard is the favorite to begin the season as the Jaguars' starting QB, according to South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
Impact: The reason seems to be that Garrard is a better fit for the west coast offense the team will run and also because Matt Moore is not a good practice QB. This will certainly not be the last time things change at the QB position in Miami, but one thing most people agree upon is that Ryan Tannehill will not begin the season under center.

News: Miller could see some time in the slot this season, according to the Miami Herald.
Impact: Miller has the speed and quickness that could give the Dolphins a mismatch if they can get him in the open field. He still will fight for carries with Reggie Bush and Daniel Thomas so his upside is limited, that being said the Dolphins love him and believe he could be a big playmaker for them.

News: Matthews signed a four-year $2.15 million contract with Miami on Tuesday, according to Scout.com.
Impact: Matthews may have been a seventh-round pick, but with Miami having a weak receiving corps, he will have as good a chance as anyone to make an impact.

News: Martin signed a four-year contract with the Dolphins on Tuesday, according to the Sun-Sentinel.
Impact: The second-round pick is expected to compete for the starting right tackle spot with Lydon Murtha. The Stanford product lacks elite athleticism and will need to get stronger. However, he makes up for those weaknesses with solid fundamentals and technique, which should help his transition to the NFL.

News: Dolphins owner Stephen Ross stated Monday that he expects Moore to open the season as the starting QB, according to the NFL Network's Jeff Darlington.
Impact: This should not come as much of a surprise as most scouts believe rookie Ryan Tannehill would be better served to watch from the bench for at least the first half of the season. The surprise might be that Ross doesn't seem to have much faith in David Garrard's ability to compete for the starting job.

News: Randall and the Dolphins have come to terms on a contract, Ben Volin of the Palm Beach Post reports.
Impact: Randall is the second of nine rookies to sign with Miami this off-season. The former nose tackle out of Texas will have to adapt to the Dolphins' new 4-3 defense.

News: Cunningham signed a four-year contract with the Dolphins on Thursday, Izzy Gould of the Sun Sentinel reports.
Impact: Cunningham was selected in the sixth round of last month's draft after he set multiple receiving records during his time at Michigan State. The rookie is the first Dolphins draftee to sign with the team and Cunningham could take advantage of a thin Miami receiving corp in his debut season, especially after the team traded Brandon Marshall this offseason.

News: Bush believes he could lead the NFL in rushing this season, according to the Florida South Sun-Sentinel.
Impact: While it's good to see Bush with high expectations, he may want to remember that there is no Brandon Marshall on the team anymore and with the Dolphins having question marks at QB and WR, opposing defenses are sure to concentrate on eliminating the running game and forcing whoever the starter is at quarterback to beat them.

News: Messam will have surgery Tuesday on the meniscus in his left knee, according to the Palm Beach Post.
Impact: This will be the second surgery on that knee since Messam suffered the injury in November. His odds of making the team just got a little longer.

News: The Miami Dolphins have extended linebacker Cameron Wake's contract through the 2016 season. Wake had one year and $650,000 left on his previous deal. ESPN is reporting the extension is worth $49 million, with $20 million guaranteed.
Impact: Wake has 28 sacks and four forced fumbles with Miami after coming to the Dolphins from the Canadian Football League, where he was a two-time defensive player of the year.
