Impact: Peterson had a good day for Minnesota, but performed below expectations for fantasy owners, as he failed to reach paydirt or 100 total yards. He had a three-game streak snapped of scoring a touchdown.

News: Shiancoe grabbed eight passes for 78 yards and scored a touchdown in Sunday's blowout win over Seattle.
Impact: Shiancoe has developed a nice rapport with Brett Favre and the veteran tight end is especially valuable in touchdown-heavy leagues with seven scores through 10 games.

News: Brett Favre gunned down the Seahawks in Sunday's 35-9 win in Minnesota, as he completed 22-of-25 passes for 213 yards, with four touchdowns and no interceptions.
Impact: The future Hall of Famer now has 21 touchdown passes over 10 games, with nine coming over his last three outings.

News: Rice caught a pair of touchdowns and finished with six receptions for 89 yards in Sunday's 35-9 win over Seattle.
Impact: Rice limped off the field after his first touchdown when he outleapt several defenders and came down awkwardly on his foot. Rice was able to return, however, and even caught a 34-yard touchdown from backup Tarvaris Jackson in the fourth quarter. Rice has established himself as Minnesota's top option in the passing game and as one of the best wide receivers in the NFC.

News: Harvin had five receptions for 79 yards and scored a touchdown in Sunday's 35-9 win over Seattle.
Impact: Harvin hasn't been used much as a runner lately, although he's producing at a high level as a receiver and returner. With Brett Favre having his best season in recent memory, Harvin is a strong option in all formats.

Impact: Berrian was able to play last week and the hamstring didn't appear to be an issue so the questionable tag is a bit of a surprise. Watch his status before kickoff if you're considering him for your lineup.

Impact: It was the second consecutive day he's been limited in practice, but this shouldn't be a worry since he showed no signs of trouble with the injury in Sunday's win over Detroit.

Impact: He was able to play last week despite the ailment and didn't appear to have a setback, so we wouldn't be too worried if he's listed as limited all week.

Impact: The iron man has not missed a game over his previous 16 NFL seasons, and should be ready to go for Sunday's battle against the Seahawks, who are ranked 22nd in pass defense.

Impact: Winfield missed the last three games with a foot injury. The elite cornerback would provide a boost to the Vikings' 23rd ranked pass defense upon his return.

Impact: Evans hasn't been much of a factor this season with just six tackles as Jimmy Kennedy has taken over most of the role as the backup to Kevin and Pat Williams at defensive tackle.

Impact: He was able to play last week despite the ailment and didn't appear to have a setback, so this is probably minor. Still, continued hamstring problems haven't helped a diminishing role in the offense.

News: According to Vikingsnow.com, Sidney Rice was named the NFC offensive player of the week on Tuesday.
Impact: Rice hauled in seven catches for a career-high 201 yards on Sunday, and he now leads the NFC with 786 receiving yards. He's eclipsed the century mark in three of the last four weeks, and Sunday's effort represented the fourth highest total for a single game in Vikings history. Rice, now officially Brett Favre's favorite target, has left Bernard Berrian in the dust and become a fantastic fantasy play.

News: Favre was 20 of 29 for season-high 344 yards against the Lions on Sunday in a 27-10 victory.
Impact: Like a fine wine, Favre seems to get better with age. The gunslinger turned in his third 300-yard effort and has 17 TDs and just 3 INTs, making him a strong candidate for league MVP honors. Other QBs may get more attention, but Favre is still an elite player in this league and is deserving of more publicity for turning around the Vikings.

News: Peterson rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns Sunday in a 27-10 win over Detroit.
Impact: Peterson's 917 yards put him second in the NFL to Tennessee RB Chris Johnson, who has an astounding 1,091.

News: Rice had seven catches for 201 yards Sunday in a 27-10 win over Detroit.
Impact: Thanks to Brett Favre's arrival at quarterback and a summer spent working out with some of the game's greatest receivers, Rice has emerged as quite a threat for the surging Vikings. What he lacks in speed he has made up for with precision, position and poise. "It seems like each game he's getting better and better," said left tackle Bryant McKinnie. "Some of those catches are definitely Randy Moss-esque."

News: Harvin had three catches for 53 yards Sunday in a 27-10 win over Detroit.
Impact: Harvin's production was limited with Brett Favre finding Sidney Rice open all day.

Impact: He apparently felt he could re-enter the game, but with the team playing the Lions, they decided to exercise caution. He should play in Week 11.

Impact: He's on pace for a career-high 94 tackles as he's counted on to make plays in the running game in Minnesota's cover-2 scheme.

News: Shiancoe had three receptions for 43 yards in Sunday's win over Detroit.
Impact: Tight end Jeff Dugan got a touchdown reception in the red zone that usually goes to Shiancoe. However, we don't think that will start to become a trend as Dugan has four receptions all season.

News: Dugan had one reception for an eight-yard touchdown in Sunday's win over the Lions.
Impact: Dugan has four catches this year and two went for touchdowns. He's not becoming more integrated into the offense as much as he's just a fourth or fifth option in the red zone.

News: Harvin had three receptions for 53 yards in Sunday's win over Detroit. He also had one carry for seven yards on a reverse.
Impact: Harvin didn't get in the end zone, but had another big play with a 40-yard catch. Sidney Rice got most of the big plays against the Lions, but Harvin has another good matchup that could pay off with a bigger fantasy game this week against Seattle.

Impact: Favre had a productive outing, but could have had a better fantasy outing if not for some struggles in the red zone. A hip/groin problem that bothered him last week in practice didn't look to be an issue. He has another good matchup this week against Seattle.

Impact: Peterson could have had an even bigger game, but fumbled when about to score on a long touchdown run. He's lost four fumbles this season, which seems to be the only concern in his game.

News: Rice had seven receptions for 201 yards in Sunday's win over Detroit.
Impact: Rice didn't get in the end zone, but had three receptions of 40 yards or more. He's clearly become Brett Favre's favorite target.

News: Williams picked up four tackles and a sack in Sunday's win over Detroit.
Impact: Williams now has six sacks on the year, which tops among defensive tackles in the league.

News: Edwards had five tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble against the Lions Sunday.
Impact: It's the second straight game with two sacks for Edwards. He gave the Lions fits Sunday and would have had another sack and forced fumble on the stat sheet, but he was called for roughing the passer on the play.

News: Brett Favre completed 20-of-29 passes for 344 yards with one touchdown against no interceptions in the Week 10 victory over Detroit.
Impact: Favre completed 68.9 percent of his passes and averaged an incredible 11.8 yards per attempt. At 40 years of age, the ironman has thrown 17 touchdowns against only three interceptions this season. The 19-year veteran is a legitmate No. 1 fantasy quarterback in 12-team leagues.

News: Sidney Rice reeled in seven balls for 201 yards in the Week 10 victory over Detroit.
Impact: Rice is first Vikings receiver to exceed 200 receiving yards since Randy Moss turned the trick in November of 1999. The third-year pro only has two touchdowns on the season, but he has posted three 100-yard performances in the last four games and represents a solid No. 2 fantasy wideout in all formats.

News: Adrian Peterson toted the rock 18 times for 133 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 10 victory over Detroit.
Impact: Peterson could have hit the touchdown trifecta, but he had the ball knocked out from behind on a sure score during one of his two fumbles. Regardless, we aren't going to pick nits here, as Purple Jesus continues to be an extremely consistent No. 1 fantasy running back.

News: Berrian (hamstring) had three receptions for just 22 yards in Sunday's 27-10 win over Detroit.
Impact: Meanwhile, Sidney Rice hauled in seven passes for a career-high 201 yards and has clearly established himself as Brett Favre's favorite target. Favre seems to feel more comfortable lobbing jump balls to Rice than trying to use Berrian's blazing speed, although Berrian still may not be 100 percent.

News: Week 10 inactives: QB Sage Rosenfels (3rd), CB Antoine Winfield, WR Jaymar Johnson, RB Albert Young, LB Erin Henderson, C Jon Cooper, DE Jayme Mitchell, and DT Letroy Guion.

Impact: Favre has more career touchdown passes against the Lions than any other team and should have a productive day against one of the league's most porous pass defenses.

Impact: Favre said Wednesday the injury bothered him during the Packers game, but "not as bad" as he feared it might. He says he was concerned mostly because he'd never had the problem before. Expect Favre to play Sunday at home against Detroit. "With a week's rest I think I'll be fine," Favre said Wednesday.

News: Winfield (foot) did individual drills on Monday, but did not participate in full practice, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Impact: It's not clear if he can return this week despite last week's bye, but at least it sounds like he's making some progress. Check to see if he returns to practice on Wednesday.

News: Rice had four catches for 40 yards Sunday in the Vikings' 38-26 win at Green Bay.
Impact: It was probably a bit much to ask for a third straight 100-yard day out of Rice, who's turned into Brett Favre's favorite deep threat. Still, it'd be nice to see more touchdowns from Rice considering he hasn't scored since Week 4.

News: Had it not been for Brett Favre's return to Green Bay, Harvin would have been Sunday's star after catching five passes for 84 yards and a touchdown and returning five kicks for 175 yards in Minnesota's 38-26 win.
Impact: Harvin is on his way to ending any debate over the NFL's offensive rookie of the year. He's turned into a threat to score every time he touches the ball.

News: Peterson ran 25 times for 97 yards and a touchdown and also caught a 44-yard pass in the Vikings' 38-26 win at Green Bay on Sunday.
Impact: There's little doubt Brett Favre's job has been made easier by Peterson, who continues to come up with a few all-world plays each week even if he isn't lighting up the scoreboard. Look for Peterson to run wild against the Detroit Lions after Minnesota's bye week.

News: Favre completed 17 of 28 passes for 244 yards and four touchdowns without an interception, slicing up his former team and sticking it to the franchise that cast him aside as the Minnesota Vikings beat the Green Bay Packers 38-26 at Lambeau Field on Sunday.
Impact: Favre has looked like an entirely different QB under center this season than the injured one who ruined the New York Jets' chances of making the playoffs in 2008. His 106.0 QB rating is fourth in the league, he's seventh in yards and is tied for the lead in touchdowns, leaving many to believe he's an MVP candidate.

News: Favre hurt his groin in practice last week on Wednesday and aggravated the injury during Sunday's game, Peter King of Sports Illustrated reports. "I think I'll be fine," Favre said.
Impact: Favre was on last week's injury report for a hip injury and not a groin injury, so this was a new development. The Vikings have a bye this week, so the groin shouldn't be an issue for Week 10 and it didn't look like a problem during Sunday's win.

Impact: This is a bit of a surprise since Tahi was listed as probable. Jeff Dugan will replace him in the starting lineup.

News: Harvin had five catches for 84 yards, including a 51-yard touchdown, in Sunday's win over Green Bay. He also had a big impact by averaging 35 yards on five kickoff returns, including returns of 77 yards and 48 yards.
Impact: Harvin didn't show any signs that the shoulder injury that plagued him in recent weeks was a problem. He also played despite missing practice on Thursday with an illness (reportedly another case of migraine headaches). His kick returns may have been the biggest difference in the win.

News: Peterson had 25 carries for 97 yards, including a one-yard touchdown, in Sunday's win over the Packers. He also added one reception for 44 yards.
Impact: A solid performance from Peterson who is on pace for almost twice as many touchdowns as last season. After a bye next week, he gets good matchups against Detroit and Seattle.

News: Favre was 17-of-28 for 244 yards passing with four touchdowns in Sunday's win over Green Bay in his return to Lambeau Field.
Impact: Favre was just as impressive as his first meeting with the Packers and didn't commit a turnover in either outing. Now that the hype of facing Green Bay is over, we'll see if Favre can stay healthy and perform as well as he has in the first half of the season. If so, the Vikings look set to go far in the playoffs. He now has 16 touchdowns and just three interceptions in eight games.

News: Berrian (hamstring) caught three passes for 47 yards and scored a touchdown in Sunday's 38-26 win at Green Bay.
Impact: Berrian was fairly quiet for most of the game, but his 16-yard touchdown catch late in the fourth quarter sealed the win for Minnesota. The Vikings have a bye next week so one can only assume that Berrian will rest and be ready to go in Week 10.

Impact: Harvin made a number of big plays, including a 51-yard touchdown catch and kickoff returns of 77 and 48 yards. Each of Harvin's long returns led to touchdowns by Minnesota, so he continues to be a huge factor on special teams. In fact, Harvin entered Sunday's game third in the league in all-purpose yards with 1,007.

News: Berrian is active for the Minnesota Vikings despite a nagging hamstring injury, giving Brett Favre one of his top targets against his former team.
Impact: With Favre as his quarterback, Berrian has 24 catches for 252 yards and two touchdowns.

News: Berrian (hamstring) won't play against Green Bay, John Czarnecki of FoxSports.com is reporting and the Minneapolis Star Tribune is re-posting.
Impact: Czarnecki's track record of reporting injuries is poor and there seems to be little substance other than speculation to his story. However, the Star Tribune re-stating the story likely means it has more weight since that paper's reporters must have the same feeling. Whether he's active or not, Berrian was limited in practice all week and had hamstring problems in the preseason, so he looks like a fantasy option to avoid even if active.

Taylor takes on the Packers at Lambeau on Sunday, and he had 43 yards from scrimmage in their last meeting.

Impact: Although he had a quiet game against the Steelers, you can bet Allen is excited to see the Packers on the schedule in week 8. In their first matchup in week 4, Allen had a monster game against the banged up Packers offensive line, racking up six solo tackles, one assisted tackle, 4.5 sacks and a forced fumble. The Packers will look to slow Allen down on Sunday, but don't be surprised if Allen ends up getting to Aaron Rodgers more than once.

Impact: Rice has quickly become Brett Favre's favorite target over the last few weeks, and his speed makes him a dangerous deep ball threat. Rice could have had a touchdown on his stat line as well, but a tripping penalty brought it back. Rice will look to exploit the Packers' secondary as Minnesota travels to Lambeau this Sunday.

News: Shiancoe had a quiet day against the Steelers on Sunday, hauling in four passes for 27 yards.
Impact: Shiancoe plays the Packers on Sunday, and he had a touchdown during their week 4 matchup. He only caught three balls for 18 yards, but he could be targeted more in the red zone if the Packers can once again hold Adrian Peterson in check.

In their week 4 matchup, Favre threw for 271 yards and three touchdowns with zero interceptions, but the hostile environment at Lambeau will likely have an effect on Favre.

News: Berrian, who appeared to injure his left hamstring Sunday against the Steelers, hopes to play in Week 8's game at Green Bay, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. "That's the plan," Berrian said Monday. "I'm hoping so."
Impact: We'll have to see about that. Keep in mind that Berrian injured his right hamstring in the Vikings' exhibition opener and missed the next three games. Not all hamstring injuries are created equal, but this one certainly merits some concern until we hear more.
