Alex Goligoski (PIT) News: The Penguins are pleased with Goligoski's recent play at both ends of the ice. The blueliner has three assists in his last four games, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. [+]
Impact: Goligoski started the season on fire with six goals and 13 points in 15 games. After enduring injuries off and on since then, his level of play sagged. Whether it was because he was pressing or worrying about his defense, Goligoski's not sure. "Maybe a little bit of everything," Goligoski said. "If I had an answer, I'd tell you and try to use it." He hasn't scored a goal in 32 games. Coach Dan Bylsma wants Goligoski to focus on his skating. "He's a unique skater, unique ability," Bylsma noted. "He needs to use that both to defend and offensively. Sometimes if you're just worried about defending, you stop skating as much. He needs to make sure he's moving his feet, using that asset to defend, go back for pucks, and then get into the transition when it's there." ( RotoWire - Tue. Feb 9, 2010) |
