News: Havlat (groin) could possibly be available for Saturday's Game 3, CSN Bay Area reports. [+]
Impact: Havlat has been increasing the intensity of his skate sessions and appears to be creeping closer to full health. With Adam Burish (broken hand) and Raffi Torres (suspension) out for the rest of the series, Havlat's return would be a welcome one for the club's forward ranks. ( RotoWire - Fri. May 17, 2013) |
News: Burish's upper body injury has been classified as a broken hand, CSN Bay Area reports. [+]
Impact: Burish has already been ruled out for the remainder of the second-round series against the Kings. While Burish maintained that he'd like to get on the ice at some point in the series, that seems unlikely to happen until he actually gets on the ice in practice, which he is not yet doing. News: Torres has elected not to appeal his suspension. [+]
Impact: Although many of his Sharks teammates felt the suspension for the remainder of the second-round series with the Kings was excessive, Torres elected to preserve his eligibility for a potential Western Conference finals series. Though not a prolific scorer offensively, Torres' skills as an enforcer will be missed against the Kings. ( RotoWire - Fri. May 17, 2013) |

Impact: Wilson had 19 points in 25 games before undergoing a similar procedure - on his right shoulder - in April. Given the new timeframe for his expected recovery, it's questionable whether he will be available for the start of the season come October. ( RotoWire - Mon. May 13, 2013) |
News: Rinne has had arthroscopic surgery on his left hip and will need approximately four months to recover. Nashville Predators general manager David Poile said Thursday that Rinne had surgery Wednesday to correct a situation team officials were aware of last year resulting from the wear and tear from playing goaltender. [+]
Impact: Rinne tied for second in the NHL with 43 appearances in the lockout-shortened season, tied for fourth with 42 starts and ranked sixth in minutes played (2,443:46). The 6-foot-5, 204-pound Finn tied for the NHL-lead with five shutouts. Poile says they hope Rinne is ready by training camp. The general manager says Tim Thomas had the operation and won the Vezina Trophy with the Bruins taking the Stanley Cup the following year. ( STATS - Thu. May 9, 2013) |
News: Rinne has undergone arthroscopic surgery on his left hip, Joshua Cooper of The Tennessean reports. [+]
Impact: Rinne's recovery is estimated at four months, a timetable which would put him on track to be ready for next season, barring any setbacks. ( RotoWire - Thu. May 9, 2013) |
