| News: Richards connected on the Rangers' first shot of the night Saturday to give the Blueshirts an early lead in a Game 7 that they went on to win, 2-1, over the Capitals. | Impact: While no one will question the conditioning of a modern NHL player, you have to start considering fatigue. The Rangers have gone seven games in each of their first two playoff series, and Richards averaged over 25 minutes of ice time in the second round against the Caps. In comparison, over the regular season, during which he played in all 82 games, Richards averaged 20:16 of ice time. The conference finals begin Monday against a well-rested Devils squad, and Richards will probably be checking how much gas is in the tank as he laces 'em up for the 97th time this season. We're not going to tell you to jump ship, but at least be aware of this factor as you estimate his third-round value.(RotoWire, ) |
