(.653) The last thing the Bolts wanted in Week 12 was a break in the action, as the team was on a point-collecting mission before play came to a brief halt for the holidays. Tampa Bay picked up three wins in four games last week, giving the club six victories and one overtime loss in its last seven games.

(.639) The Stars dropped one place in the rankings courtesy of their losing two of three in Week 12, including a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to the Coyotes on Dec. 26 where Loui Eriksson was stoned by Jason LaBarbera on a second-period, game-changing penalty shot.

(.574) The Phoenix offense went AWOL, scoring just three times in three games. In a 1-0 win over Dallas on Dec. 26, Jason LaBarbera's 30 saves and Kyle Turris' fifth goal of the year made sure the Coyotes picked up at least one win and two points last week.

(.500) The Hurricanes followed up a four-game winning streak with a three-game losing streak. Two of losses were by one goal. Had Carolina's power play connected more than once in seven opportunities in the two defeats, the results may have been very different.

(.457) Not only did the Sabres go into the break losers of three of four, the club also suffered a bigger loss in Week 12 when its leading scorer, Derek Roy, went down with a season-ending injury in the first period of a 4-3 loss to the Florida Panthers last Thursday.

(.286) After the Devils dropped a 5-1 decision to the Washington Capitals on Dec. 23, their third straight loss and ninth in 10 games this month, Lou Lamoriello had seen enough. The New Jersey GM axed head coach John MacLean and replaced him with a familiar face in Jacques Lemaire. How this move pans out for the remainder of the season, only time will tell. The only thing that's certain is that Lemaire can't do any worse with this bunch of underachievers.
