By picking up five of a possible six points last week, the Buffalo Sabres not only moved up three spots, the club also inched closer to a playoff berth in the East.

Drew Stafford powered the way for Buffalo, netting six goals in his team’s three games. Stafford started out the week by posting three goals in a 7-4 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Feb. 8. Five nights later, Stafford was at it again, registering his league-leading fourth hat trick in a 7-6 overtime loss to the New York Islanders on Feb. 13. The red-hot Stafford has eight tallies in his last four games and 20 goals, including all four hat tricks, in his past 24 games.

Did anyone lead your team up the rankings in Week 18? Read on to find out.

(Note: The Power Rankings will be based on a formula of points earned divided by the maximum amount of points possible [points/games played x 2]. In case of a tie, categories such as wins, goals against, goals for, power-play goals and power-play percentage will determine rankings.)

(.652) While Dwayne Roloson did win one of his two starts last week, he wasn’t his solid self between the iron. He started off the week by giving up seven goals on 28 shots in a loss to Buffalo and ended the week by giving up three goals on 34 shots to Carolina, including two in the final minute of regulation. Luckily for Roloson, his team bailed him out in overtime.

(.607) The Stars were finally able to pick up a win in the month of February thanks to Stephane Robidas. The 33-year old defender picked up a goal and an assist in his team’s 4-3 shootout win over Chicago on Feb. 11, which put an end to the Stars’ four-game skid.

(.607) Washington dropped one place in the rankings thanks to Alexander Ovechkin and the entire Caps’ offense being out to lunch last week in losses to the Sharks and Kings. Ovechkin only managed one point in his team’s two losses, which just so happened to be the only goal Washington scored in its two defeats.

(.596) Last week, Carey Price just about single-handedly put an end to the Canadiens’ three-game winless streak. The Montreal netminder turned away all 27 shots he faced in a 3-0 win over the Maple Leafs Saturday night in Toronto, his sixth shutout of the season.

(.552) The Calgary power play helped the Flames open up Week 18 with two straight wins, connecting four times in nine tries in wins over Chicago and Ottawa, but the next two games were a different story. The Flames closed out the week with two straight losses, failing to connect on any of the six man-up chances awarded to them.
