The Chicago Blackhawks pulled out of their mini slide, at least just enough to remain ahead of the Anaheim Ducks for one more week. The true barometer comes Wednesday when these top two teams collide.

It looks like back-to-back losses after Chicago’s record-setting streak wasn’t much to be concerned about. The Blackhawks rebounded to outscore their next two opponents (Columbus and Dallas) 10-2.

Boston has lost twice to the Pens in a span of five days, making the Pens’ promotion an easy call. Maybe more the concern to the Bruins is just how injured top-line center David Krejci’s knee is after he went down in Sunday’s 2-1 loss to the Pens.

The Habs are on a five-game run. Also impressive: Montreal has scored the first goal 75 percent of the time this season.

Maybe I was a little hard on Jake Allen before. He earned his first career shutout against the Coyotes on Thursday and followed it by allowing one goal in a 2-1 OT victory over the Ducks on Saturday.

Seeing goalie Jonathan Quick pulled — like he was midway through Thursday’s loss to San Jose — has become an all-too-frequent occurrence. LA has still found ways to win, at least most of the time of late.

Minnesota remains one of the hotter teams in the league. The Wild haven’t lost to a team not named Blackhawks or Ducks since Feb. 23.

It’s been impressive that the Sens have kept up a solid pace minus goalie Craig Anderson, who hasn’t played since injuring his ankle a month ago.

Maybe it was a little too soon to write off Detroit. (Cue up another Clint Eastwood commercial.) But the Wings face some stiff competition with games against the Wild and Ducks (twice) over the next six days.

San Jose needed that regulation victory over the Kings Thursday. The Sharks, however, didn’t need to follow it with a 5-2 loss to LA two days later.

Enough harping on the Southeast and its weakness compared to the rest of the NHL — if not all of the four major sports. But the Jets are a third seed entering play Monday night after winning three of four.

Phoenix hadn’t scored in two games (losses to the Blues and Blue Jackets) entering the week. Maybe some soft Kings goaltending can help the Coyotes out as they play LA Monday and Tuesday.

The Leafs have been losing, a lot. But at least Toronto is dropping games to some good teams. All of the teams the Leafs have lost to on their five-game skid are playoff teams.

Alex Burrows scored the quickest goal in franchise history (6 seconds), but that’d be basically the end of the good times as the Canucks lost to the Red Wings 5-2 on Saturday. Another missed opportunity at a statement win.

New York is on its second three-game skid over the last four weeks. It looks like this skid — which has included only two Rangers goals — will lead to some reshuffled lines and maybe even a reshuffled roster as the trade deadline approaches.
