McDonald improves, gets back on the ice Blues notebook ¿ But it's not yet known if he can play Thursday. NHL AND NBA

"He skated this morning, and that was encouraging," Blues coach Andy Murray said. "Today was the first time Andy was back on the ice. He took therapy for a couple of days and got back out there today."
McDonald is listed as day to day.
Although the Blues aren't sure if McDonald will return by Thursday, forward T.J. Oshie will be available after going through a full practice with the team again. Oshie has missed four games after having an appendectomy.
"I feel great, back to 100 percent," Oshie said.
He said that he lost eight or nine pounds after the surgery, but he's put half of that back on.
"He's flying out there, he's come to play and certainly we miss his aggressiveness in the lineup," Murray said.
The Blues had only 11 forwards in practice Tuesday, so if McDonald can't play, the team will probably recall a forward from Peoria before Thursday's game.
Forward Yan Stastny was reassigned to Peoria on Sunday, and in his first game back with the Rivermen left briefly with a cut around on his eye. Stastny would be available to play Thursday.
Forward Derek Armstrong left the same game after being knocked woozy on a hit by former Blue Mike Glumac, who earned a five-minute major interference penalty. Armstrong had to be helped off the ice and is considered doubtful this week.
COLAIACOVO is BACK
The Blues had eight defensemen at practice after the return of Carlo Colaiacovo. He missed three games with the flu.
"I felt a little winded at the start (of practice Tuesday)," Colaiacovo said. "My body has been completely shut down for about five days. But as the practice went on, I started to feel a lot better. It's tough to say ... I'll know more (today) about how I feel, strength-wise and conditioning-wise."
Barret Jackman (ankle) also practiced, but he remains doubtful for Thursday's game.
