Sharks VS. PITTSBURGH

Faceoff: 7:30 p.m. at HP Pavilion.

TV: CSNCA.

Radio: 98.5-FM, 92.1-FM.

Head to head: The Sharks took down the Penguins 2-1 at HP Pavilion in October 2008 in their last meeting.

Penguins update: It's difficult to find flaws in Pittsburgh's 12-4 start. But the Penguins are 0-for-17 on the power play in their last three games as the absence of C Evgeni Malkin and D Sergei Gonchar has been felt. The 5-2 loss to Los Angeles on Thursday marked the first time they have yielded more than four goals.

Sharks update: The Sharks sent D Joe Callahan back to Worcester. The Sharks did not release MRI results of D Rob Blake's "upper body" injury Friday. Coach Todd McLellan said rookie C Logan Couture, who scored his first NHL goal Thursday, "graduated" with his play against the Red Wings.

Penguins injuries: Malkin (strained right shoulder), Gonchar (broken left wrist), C Maxime Talbot (shoulder surgery), D Ben Lovejoy (shoulder) are out. RW Tyler Kennedy (groin) is questionable.

Sharks injuries: C Torrey Mitchell (left knee tendinitis), RW Devin Setoguchi (leg), C Ryan Vesce (leg) and Blake are out. C Joe Pavelski (broken foot) is questionable.
