This week on the Puck Podcast, Eddie Garcia and Doug Stolhand recap the first round of the NHL draft with analysis of each pick with draft expert Mike Murangi. They also talk with Devils beat writer Rich Chere about who might be the next head coach in New Jersey and what free agents they could be pursuing. Plus, they discuss what could be the greatest Hall of Fame class ever, Brent Sutter being hired in Calgary, a huge trade between the Flyers and Ducks and a whole lot more.

Puck Podcast is a weekly podcast that talks about nothing but the NHL with analysis, interviews, opinions and information you won't get anywhere else.

About the hosts:

Doug Stolhand is a former color commentator for the ECHL's Fresno Falcons who has covered the NHL as a member of the media since 1995.

Eddie Garcia was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and raised in Central California. He is currently an update anchor for the Fox Sports Radio Network and is part of the morning show "Out of Bounds." He is also the hockey insider for Fox Sports Radio and is known for his "Hockey Minute" segment during the NHL season.

leaffanssuc..... fairweather fans, somebody is speaking out of turn or does not do his homework. Pittsburgh has the oldest rink in the NHL 2nd when all the steelmills left it took awhile for Pittsburgh to recover. Pittsburgh is just now starting to see signs of new major building and new growth. Lemieux could have had a couple more cups if pittsburgh would have had more money for cups runs. Plus before Lemieux it had a couple of owners who took the money and ran leaving the team bankrupt. Being a father of a AAA hockey player I've seen and hung around other NHL rinks, Pittsburgh has some of the best fans out there and the being there before gametime is a very exciting experience to see the Burgh come togetgher for a game. Please do not assume you know what you are talking about.

Being a lifetime Habs fan I watched the 70s Canadiens team along with the Gretzky Oiler teams and the Islander teams. The reaason I pick the 70s Habs team that won 4 in a row is that there are 8 players off that team in the HOF.

I always found **** Irvin extemely biased now I know he doesn't know what he is talking about. He says the best team ever was the Montreal team of the late 70's that won four Stanley cups.
First it is hard to compare teams from different ages and styles but if you want to go there what about the Islanders that won four cups. Certainly a match.
Now I am no Montreal fan but I would say the Montreal team that won five cups with Rocket Richard, Doug Harvey and others certainly topped these two not just because they were the only team to win five Stanley cups but they did it in the old six team leauge. You had the best in the world on six teams as apposed to the watered down league in the late 70's and beyond. Also Montreal had a monopoly on French players in the old days, something that was unfair to the other five teams. No different than the Russians icing their best against our ameteurs in the olympics in the past. Both situations unfair and a Joke. The Leaf team that won three cups in a row in the sixties and one in '67 were no slouches as well as the Detroit team s of the fifties.

leafsfanssux....I'm a Pens fan and I have been driving my butt 100 miles one way,25 times a season for the past 14 seasons to watch the Pens. You can yak about bandwagon jumpers all you want but I know first hand that the Pens have a large, loyal fanbase that stuck with them through the good and the bad times.Another fact...the Pens have missed the playoffs about three times since 1989 .....so much for your decade of tanking it.You speak as if you don't believe a team finishing low in the standings shouldn't get the early draft picks,so how should they be dispersed?Win the cup,get the first pick? Some teams do it right and some don't? Nobody had more talent on their teams through the 90's than the Pens and after a few down seasons, the Pens are building again into a high powered team that will keep their core and move players in and out of the lineup for years to come.Like it or not,the Pens will be a strong contender for years to come.Maybe they'll win a cup, maybe not but they will definitely be fub to watch.......especially while at the arena 25 times ayear.

Chicago, like pittsburgh are rewarded for being terrible franchises. Both teams have tanked it for a decade and get to fill there teams with top draft picks. Some teams do it right and some don't.... the fans of both cities are fair weather... they're back on the bandwagon now.. where were you a few years ago when your arenas were empty?

Great podcast for the week of June 8th.

I'm on board with you guys, and Mr. Labarbara, when it comes to doling out the post season hardware. By the way, goalies get TWO awards, not just one. Osgood and Hasek should be earning the Jennings trophy. Datsyuk gets the Lady Byng, for sure. Wasn't he out on the ice throwing punches with his gloves ON? More like a pillow fight than a show of force or emotion.

It's great that you guys have Jason on board for color commentary, but could you get him to down a Red Bull or two before interviews? I'm asking for a LITTLE pep. Is that too much?

Total and complete class from that fan that returned Luke Bourdon's jersey from his final game. Give that individual four season tickets. Letang would agree with me.

Rocket ? HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA ?. That is Ron Dugay!

That had to be the funniest thing I have seen in a year. Everyone deserves a good laugh?.That one is excellent.

I went to you tube and typed in this .

(Original New York Rangers and Sasson Jeans Commercial 1979)

It is the same video. Ah, pride goeth before the fall. Pride in what you ask? So do I. I understand Ron DuBLEEP was at the game to do Avery?s makeup for the Sassoon Jean comeback?Ohh La La. Talk about cork soakers! Sassoon has a better chance of coming back than the Rangers do. UpChucker, the golf is great?let me know how the fashion shoot is. BLEEP-Hags and Hose-Hogs, good lord buy another jersey. How many are the Rangers marketing these days? They still don?t make one that will fit over a Ranger fan?s head. I hear Avery is putting one out in pink. And it snaps or zips up so don?t worry about getting your encephalitis enhancements through. It should go nice with your?hell I don?t know, fore! I have a prediction for you stump heads: the Rangers will win it all this year, but only in the final five minutes of every game. They?ll all be power play goals and the Rangers will do it all with broken sticks and Ranger Power!! And the NHL will make Avery Rules after EVERY game. First he?ll have to play with only one skate, then on roller skates, then he?ll have to play with a waffle ball bat and then blind folded and then in a dress, (the only rule he won?t object to). And he will score and score and score and then we?ll all feather our hair like Ron DuBLEEP, (MUCH better than then ultra curl perm), and the cup will be renamed the Lord Ranger cup.

to antny 9/5/2007 you know hockey is only sport you need better package on cable to watch.they will never grow bigger if they dont let the people see the games.its a shame hockey is run by basketball people and they get better coverage than hockey and should know how to premote the game.

Bobby Clark was a fine but dirty cowardly sneaky hocey player. As a GM no comment. He should have stuck to sampling the family beans. The gas he let off matched his GM ability in odour.

Hey Bowlerz5, your idea would result in an embarassing one-sided blowout. The kids would have the old timers for lunch and dinner then poop them out as the turds that they are. Jagr vs. Crosby? No contest. Jagr has dryballs and is DONE, while Crosby is getting better with every passing game. And no, I'm not a Penguin fan, I'm a Ranger fan.

ALL STAR GAME:

Why dont they have players that have been in the league for less than 5 years (YOUNG GUNS)vs the players over 5 years (OLD TIMERS) and that would create more competition between the players and they would want to show their support instead of sitting home on the weekend their fans voted them to SHINE...SID THE KID vs JAGR and CONKLIN vs BRODEUR. It wold give the older players a chance to show they can still keep up in the NEW NHL.

My two cents
