New Ranger Gaborik says health no issue

The All-Star right wing left the Minnesota Wild, the team that picked him third overall in the 2000 draft, to sign a five-year, $37.5 million deal Wednesday night.
He played just 17 games in 2008-09, including 11 games to finish the season after recovering from hip surgery, yet netted 13 goals with 10 assists. He has 219 goals and 218 assists in 502 career games.
"My whole experience in the NHL is playing for one team," said Gaborik, who was also limited to 48 games in 2006-07 because of a groin injury. "Obviously, this is a big change, a big opportunity. It's kind of starting to hit me now I'm becoming a Ranger . I'm looking forward to this. The page turned yesterday and I'm starting a new Hockey life, pretty much."
But after landing one of the market's biggest attractions, the Rangers surprisingly were quiet on a surprisingly quiet Day 2 of free agency despite their apparent need for a top-line center to play with Gaborik.
Sather likely is trying to attract another free agent or work a deal, possibly to shed defenseman Michal Rozsival's salary, which counts $5 million against the salary cap the next three seasons.
Among the agents Sather did speak with Thursday was Jay Grossman, who represents veteran Stars defenseman Sergei Zubov, a member of the Rangers' 1994 Stanley Cup champions, and Red Wings right wing Mikael Samuelsson, also an ex- Ranger .
