Habs-Leafs meet in rare Tuesday affair

FULL TEXT There's something not quite right about the Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs renewing their rivalry on a Tuesday night, but the game should still be a spirited affair as there are stakes for both sides. The Leafs have a chance to reach .500 on the road, the Habs have an opportunity to nose above the break-even point for the season. Both will try to take their chance to pull one over on their most bitter rival. "It's always great to play in Montreal, especially when you're a Toronto Maple Leaf. Whether it's a Tuesday or a Saturday, it doesn't matter, the atmosphere will be great," said Leafs defenceman Jeff Finger, who returns to the lineup from a lower body injury. Toronto will start goaltender Jonas Gustavsson, who has 3.66 goals-against average and .872 over his last six games. Montreal will go with Carey Price, who stoned the Leafs in the first game of the season and has regained his form after a six-game stretch where he rode the bench. Price, who today was named Montreal's player of the month for November, is 2-1-2 in his last five with a 2.51 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage. "It's not easy to score goals, but we just need to bear down in front of the net," said defenceman Francois Beauchemin. Rookie rearguard Carl Gunnarsson is out after suffering a thunderous hit against the Buffalo Sabres on Monday night. Goaltender Vesa Toskala took part in an optional skate at the Bell Centre. It's probably a stretch to think he'll be ready for Thursday night, but he could return for Saturday.
