Report: NHL expected to cancel WC

The NHL is expected to cancel the 2013 Winter Classic on Friday, according to a report on TSN.com.

The game was scheduled to be held at Michigan Stadium on Jan. 1 between the Detroit Red Wings and the Toronto Maple Leafs. The NHL lockout has already forced cancelations for the first two months of the season.

The 2013 version of the Winter Classic is supposed to be one of the biggest yet, with high school and college games to be played.
