Reports: Jonathan charged in accident

Former Boston Bruins enforcer Stan Jonathan has been charged with criminal negligence causing death in a hunting accident that killed a Hamilton, Ontario, resident according to multiple reports.
According to the reports, Peter Kosid was shot and killed while bow hunting for deer on the Six Nations Reserve on Nov. 11.
Jonathan, who was deer hunting, allegedly shot Kosid from over 400 yards away, according to the reports.
Kosid’s brother, Brad, told TheSpec.com that he feels the charge is appropriate.
“It’s not like we think [the shooter] did it on purpose, but it was so careless,” he said on Wednesday. “It was a split-second decision that cost a life.”
Reports indicate Jonathan was released after a bail hearing on Wednesday, and is scheduled to appear in court again on Dec. 14.
Jonathan played eight seasons in the NHL, mostly with the Bruins. He scored 91 goals in 411 games and had 751 penalty minutes.
