News: The Sabres' leading scorer, Hodgson was named to Team Canada on Thursday for the upcoming World Championships.
Impact: This is the first time Hodgson has been named to Team Canada for the World Championships. Other than the presence of a few veterans, Team Canada will have a very young squad. Although Hodgson was moved to the left wing on the Sabres late in the season, there's a possibility he will return to center for Canada. He faces tough competition, however, with Kyle Turris, Sean Monahan, Nazem Kadri and Mark Scheifele also named to the squad.

News: Myers (ribs) was named to Team Canada for the upcoming World Championships, which was announced Thursday.
Impact: Myers had an up-and-down season, but is slowly returning to his Calder-winning form. Canada will carry seven defensemen to the tournament, four of whom are right-handed. If head coach Dave Tippett elects to follow a strict left-right split, Myers will be battling Florida's Erik Gudbranson for ice time. This is the second time Myers has represented Canada at the Worlds. He last appeared on the 2010 squad, totaling two assists in seven games. Hopefully, playing on a much more competitive team will bring out the best in the underachieving defenseman.

News: The injury that sidelined Neuvirth since mid-March is a nagging hip problem and he's been seeing a specialist, according to The Buffalo News.
Impact: No word yet whether the issue can be dealt with through therapy or if Neuvirth will need offseason surgery. Assuming he's good either way for the start of 2014-15, Neuvirth is expected to compete with Jhonas Enroth for the starting goaltender duties.
Mon. Apr 14, 2014 | RotoWire
News: The eighth overall pick in 2013, Ristolainen appeared in 34 NHL games and 31 AHL games in his rookie season.
Impact: Ristolainen made the Sabres out of training camp, but struggled and was demoted to the AHL when head coach Ted Nolan took over the team. He fared much better with Rochester, scoring 18 points in 31 games and quickly becoming one of the team's top players. Ristolainen appeared in a total of 34 games, scoring two goals and four points with a minus-15 rating. Seen as a future franchise defensemen, Ristolainen is expected to be an NHL regular next season.
Mon. Apr 14, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Ehrhoff (concussion) scored six goals and 33 points in 2013-14, statistically his best season with the Sabres to date.
Impact: Since signing a massive 10-year, $40 million contract with the Sabres, Ehrhoff has managed to score just 19 goals over three seasons. After posting three consecutive 30-assist seasons with San Jose and Vancouver, Ehrhoff has put up just 27, 17 and 27 assists in his three campaigns with Buffalo. It's clear that the German defenseman isn't good enough to spearhead a team's offensive attack and missed having the quality of forwards he enjoyed with his two previous teams. The Sabres are rebuilding and still deciding on Ehrhoff's future. If he's not part of the team's plan, the expectation is that he will be bought out this summer, making him an unrestricted free agent.
Mon. Apr 14, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Girgensons finished his rookie season with eight goals and 22 points in 70 games played.
Impact: The Latvian center has come a long way since getting drafted out of the USHL just two years ago. Though his numbers aren't sexy, there are plenty of positives for Girgensons. First, he was a major force for the Latvian national team in the Olympics, which held its own against a dominant Canadian team in the quarterfinal. His strong two-way play and consistent work ethic also earned him head coach Ted Nolan's trust, which translated in Buffalo, where he quickly became one of the team's most trusted players. His emergence as one of the team's top centers allowed Nolan to move Cody Hodgson to the left wing, which means Girgensons is penciled in as the No. 2 center next season. It's certainly a lot of responsibility, but Girgensons has shown that he plays with the savvy of a five-year veteran, so he should welcome the challenge.
Mon. Apr 14, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Myers (ribs) had a nice bounce-back season offensively this year, totaling nine goals in 62 games to lead all Buffalo defensemen.
Impact: The offense came alive this season for the 6-foot-8 giant, though he still hasn't quite returned to the Calder-winning form that saw him produce 48 points in 82 games. Maligned by Sabres faithful for his inconsistent play despite his immense potential, Myers is too often caught out of position, making bad decisions and turning over the puck, and not using his size to good effectiveness. Perhaps the expectations on Myers were far too great, but comparisons to Zdeno Chara have all but disappeared. Myers is still young at 24 years old and will have a lot of time to learn the ropes in the NHL, but with Rasmus Ristolainen, Nikita Zadorov and Jake McCabe looming, combined with the regression in his play, a change of scenery may benefit both sides. Myers is owed $20.5 million over the next five seasons, which also makes him a buyout candidate.
Mon. Apr 14, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Stafford finished the season with 16 goals and 18 assists in 70 games.
Impact: Stafford, a notorious slow starter, came alive in the second half of the season, scoring 12 of his 16 goals after December. It's clear by now that the North Dakota alum just doesn't score consistently enough to be considered a top-line player anymore, just three years after scoring 31 goals in 62 games. Stafford also suffered a career-worst minus-19 rating, though he wasn't the only player on the Sabres to see his plus-minus rating drop. He'll enter the final year of his $4 million-per-season contract next fall; it's unlikely he'll be re-signed, and in fact he may be potential trade bait at next year's trade deadline.
Mon. Apr 14, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Hodgson missed 10 games this season, but still managed 44 points, good enough to be the Sabres' top scorer.
Impact: The 24-year-old set a new career high, but the overall production was rather disappointing. He scored 34 points in 48 games the previous season, but only managed to improve his point total by 10 despite playing in 24 more games. He also became even more of a defensive liability, with a minus-26 rating on the year. Near the end of the season, the right-handed Hodgson was moved the left wing, where head coach Ted Nolan suspects he'll be more effective -- he's faster along the wall than in the center of the ice. Hodgson has played 211 NHL games so far, and has shown flashes of talent, but is handicapped by his poor skating. However, he'll still get his opportunities next year as one of the Sabres' top forwards.
Mon. Apr 14, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Ennis missed just two games in the 2013-14 season, notching a team-best (and career-high) 21 goals.
Impact: Despite his size and difficulty with winning faceoffs, Ennis is expected to be the Sabres' top center next year. The team's first-round pick in the 2008 draft, Ennis has 166 points in 267 career games. He will look to improve from his modest 43-point output this season, but it's tough to ask him to suddenly turn into a point-per-game producer or carry the Sabres' offense.
Mon. Apr 14, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Enroth missed the final month of the season with a lower-body injury, which has now been revealed as a sprained MCL, The Buffalo News reports.
Impact: Enroth had a tough season, finishing with just four wins in 28 appearances. His peripheral numbers weren't particularly bad -- a 2.82 GAA and .911 save percentage -- but the Sabres managed to win just three of 13 games in which Enroth allowed two goals or fewer. He now owns a .913 save percentage and 2.75 GAA in 81 career games in the NHL. The former second-round pick will be battling Michal Neuvirth for the starting job in Buffalo next season.
Mon. Apr 14, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Hackett suffered a knee injury in Saturday's loss to the Bruins and may not be ready for the start of next season, according to The Buffalo News.
Impact: It was a pretty serious injury and Hackett had to leave the ice on stretcher. Even if Hackett is fit to play when October rolls around, there's a decent chance Jhonas Enroth and Michal Neuvirth are ahead of him in the pecking order anyway.
Mon. Apr 14, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Ellis scored his fourth goal of the season in Sunday's finale against the Islanders.
Impact: Ellis compiled six points in 50 games for the Sabres, averaging less than 10 minutes a game while serving as a bottom-six forward. Buffalo actually placed him on waivers early in the season only to go unclaimed by every other team, making him little more than a replacement-level player.
Mon. Apr 14, 2014 | RotoWire
News: McBain scored his sixth goal of the season in Sunday's season finale against the Islanders.
Impact: McBain didn't come into the 2013-14 season with a ton of fantasy appeal and did little to change that by the end of the campaign, finishing with 17 points and a minus-13 rating over 69 games. He'll head into free agency this offseason.
Mon. Apr 14, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Myers suffered two broken ribs March 25 against the Canadiens, The Buffalo News reports.
Impact: Myers missed the last 10 games of the season with the broken ribs, but will presumably be fine for the start of next season. He finished the 2013-14 campaign with nine goals and 13 assists in 62 games.
Mon. Apr 14, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Konopka (back) returned to the ice for Sunday's season finale against the Islanders. He only saw 8:58 of ice time, while also spending five minutes in the penalty box.
Impact: It's good to see Konopka seemingly healthy heading into the offseason after he missed the Sabres' previous 10 games due to injury. He never made that much of an impact with either the Wild or the Sabres this season, totaling just three points in 59 games. It remains to be seen whether Buffalo will bring him back next season as fourth-line depth.
Apr 13, 2014 | RotoWire
News: It's official: With a 4-3 shootout loss to the Islanders on Sunday, Leino finishes the 2013-14 season with zero goals scored in 57 games.
Impact: All in all, Leino has scored just 10 goals in 126 games with Buffalo since signing a $27 million deal in July 2011. The Sabres tried everything with Leino, but nothing worked -- his work ethic was the biggest hurdle, given his inconsistent performances. He finishes the season with a career-worst minus-16 rating, too. The Sabres can still buy out players this summer, and Leino is a prime candidate.

News: Buffalo called up Pysyk and two other players from its AHL affiliate on Sunday. The moves came a day after the Sabres lost five players to injuries in a 4-1 loss at Boston.
Impact: The five injured players included goalie Matt Hackett, who was carted off after hurting his right leg. Defenseman Christian Ehrhoff sustained a concussion while forwards Chris Stewart (leg), Matt D'Agostini (lower body) and Brian Flynn (lower body) were also hurt.

News: Buffalo called up Makarov from AHL Rochester on Sunday along with two other players.
Apr 13, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Deslauriers was recalled for the Sabres' season finale on Sunday, John Vogl of The Buffalo News reports.
Impact: Deslauriers will get a chance to add to his one career goal in Sunday's season finale. He will also get another chance to audition for the Sabres for the 2014-15 season, but will likely continue in his role as a fringe player.
Apr 13, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Pysyk was recalled by the Sabres on Sunday, John Vogl of The Buffalo News reports.
Impact: Psysyk will join the team for the season finale and will likely get a chance to see some ice time. He has been between the two teams throughout the season, and will look for a chance at a more consistent role with the Sabres in the 2014-15 season.
Sun. Apr 13, 2014 | STATS
News: Flynn left Saturday's game with a lower-body injury.
Impact: He's likely done for 2013-14.
Sun. Apr 13, 2014 | STATS
News: Ehrhoff left Saturday's game with a concussion.
Impact: He's likely done for the season.
Sun. Apr 13, 2014 | STATS

Impact: His season is likely over.
Sun. Apr 13, 2014 | STATS
News: Stewart left Saturday's game with a leg injury.
Impact: His season is likely over.
Sat. Apr 12, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Hackett left Saturday's game against the Rangers on a stretcher with a leg injury, John Vogl of The Buffalo News reports.
Impact: Hackett was one of the few healthy goalies for the Sabres coming into the game. Now, Connor Knapp will be forced into his NHL debut mid-game. As serious as Hackett's injury appears, his season is likely over.
Sat. Apr 12, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Hackett's leg is "not broken," according to John Vogl of the Buffalo News.
Impact: We're not sure if that's good or bad because a ligament injury will likely take much longer to heal and rehabilitate. Hackett was injured in Saturday's game when Boston's Torey Krug fell onto his extended leg; he lay in a heap on the ice and eventually had to be stretchered off the ice.
Sat. Apr 12, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Hodgson scored the lone Sabres' goal in a 4-1 loss to the Bruins on Saturday.
Impact: With the tally, Hodgson hit the 20-goal mark for the first time in his career. He is finishing the season strong, recording four goals and four assists in his last eight games. On the season, Hodgson has amassed 44 points in 71 games, combined with a disastrous minus-26 rating.
Sat. Apr 12, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Sabres coach Ted Nolan said after Saturday's game that Hackett's leg injury does not look good. "It doesn't look good right now," Nolan said. We'll wrap him up as best we can, get him back home, have our doctors look at him."
Impact: Hackett can be ruled out for Sunday's season finale, as the bigger question is whether this is something that could affect his availability for the start of next season. Either way, he'll likely open next season in the AHL. Look for Connor Knapp to start Sunday's finale against the Islanders.
Sat. Apr 12, 2014 | STATS
News: Hackett sustained a serious injury when Boston Bruins defenseman Torey Krug fell on his right leg on Saturday. Coach Ted Nolan said Hackett's leg wasn't broken. He added that the goalie would return with the team to Buffalo where he would be examined by club medical personnel.
Impact: Krug was skating toward the net when he was upended by Buffalo defenseman Jamie McBain and fell on Hackett's leg in the crease with 11:35 left in the third period. Hackett remained sprawled on the ice, face down. After more than five minutes, he was carefully placed on a wheeled stretcher. Hackett, who had been recalled from Rochester of the AHL on March 17, was replaced by Connor Knapp with Boston leading 3-1. Knapp, the seventh goalie to dress for the Sabres this season, had been called up from Rochester on Friday.
Sat. Apr 12, 2014 | RotoWire
News: D'Agostini suffered a lower-body injury during Saturday's game and will not play in Sunday's season finale.
Impact: The Sabres were hit unusually hard by injuries in their penultimate game of the season, as D'Agostini is just one of five players who went down. The 27-year-old winger finishes his season with 12 points (five goals) in 56 games, and there's no indication that his injury is particularly serious.
Sat. Apr 12, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Stewart will miss the Sabres' season finale with a lower-body injury.
Impact: Stewart missed a little over a month with an ankle injury before returning on Tuesday. The winger will not record a point with the Sabres this season after being traded on Feb. 28. He will have to wait for next season to light the lamp for Buffalo.
Sat. Apr 12, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Ehrhoff suffered a mild concussion in Saturday's game and will miss the Sabres' season finale Sunday.
Impact: Ehrhoff will finish the season with six goals and 27 assists. The eight-year veteran will look to continue a successful career next season.
Sat. Apr 12, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Flynn will miss the final regular season game on Sunday after leaving Saturday's game with a lower-body injury.
Impact: Flynn will finish the season with six goals and seven assists in 79 games for the Sabres this season. Although he isn't a lock for the roster in 2014-15, he is a pretty sure bet to don the Sabres uniform.
Sat. Apr 12, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Stewart left Saturday's contest with a lower-body injury and will not return.
Impact: Stewart was questionable to return for any of the regular season after suffering a right ankle injury on March 6. He finally returned to the lineup on April 8 before leaving Saturday's game. The report doesn't indicate if the injury is related to the ankle ailment that cost him a month, but Stewart's season is likely over with just one meaningless game remaining for the Sabres.
Sat. Apr 12, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Hackett will likely start between the pipes on Saturday.
Impact: Hackett was expected to start the remaining games on the Sabres schedule and it still looks that way. Buffalo may go after another goaltender for next season but as of now, Hackett is the top netminder on the team.
Thu. Apr 10, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Hackett stopped 28 of 30 pucks he faced in a 2-1 loss to the Rangers on Thursday.
Impact: Unfortunately for Hackett and the Sabres, the second goal he allowed was with less than two minutes remaining in regulation. Regardless, Hackett will reportedly start both of Buffalo's games and will try to put his best foot forward in what seems to be an audition for a role on next year's roster.
Thu. Apr 10, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Ennis logged an assist in Thursday's 201 loss to the Rangers.
Impact: Ennis, who set a new career-high earlier this month with 21 goals, has 43 points through 78 games played.
Thu. Apr 10, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Weber logged an assist and led the team with five hits in a 2-1 loss to the Rangers on Thursday.
Impact: For a guy who has never logged more than 17 points in one season, Weber is closing out the campaign on a strong note. Although the fourth year blueliner has a goal and two assists during his current three-game point streak, there's no guarantee he'll continue this uncharacteristic production for the remaining two games of the season.
Thu. Apr 10, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Stafford (undisclosed) scored the team's lone goal in a 2-1 loss to the Rangers on Thursday.
Impact: After ending March on a sour four-game point drought and sitting out four straight tilts with an undisclosed injury, Stafford officially has a goal and two assists through two games in April. That's probably of little consolation to the talented young winger who will once again watch the playoffs from home. Though the team has little to play for in their remaining two games, Stafford could still provide some offensive punch if he's available in more shallow leagues.
Thu. Apr 10, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Tallinder (lower body) will be in the lineup Thursday against the Rangers, John Vogl of the Buffalo News reports.
Impact: Tallinder missed the previous four games with the injury, but he'll try to end the season on a high note. He has an ugly minus-21 rating on the season, but that's largely a byproduct of playing regularly for the league's worst team.
Thu. Apr 10, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Pysyk was assigned to AHL Rochester on Thursday.
Impact: Pysyk was only with the Sabres for one game, but he made the most of it by logging an assist and two penalty minutes in Tuesday's loss to the Red Wings. He should be a bigger part of the team's plans next season.
Wed. Apr 9, 2014 | STATS
News: Girgensons scored twice in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to Detroit.
Impact: Girgensons' two goals matched his total from the previous 30 games.
Wed. Apr 9, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Stafford (undisclosed) will play Thursday against the Rangers, WGR 500 reports.
Impact: The winger will draw back into the lineup Thursday, after sitting out the team's last four games with an undisclosed injury. He currently has 15 goals and 18 assists in 67 games this season.
Wed. Apr 9, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Hackett will start the remaining three games for the Sabres, Bill Hoppe of the Times Herald reports.
Impact: Hackett won his first start of the season with the Sabres, but has since dropped five straight. He'll get the start Thursday against the Rangers, and is expected to return to the AHL at the end of the Sabres' season.
Wed. Apr 9, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Tallinder will likely be a game-time decision Thursday against the Rangers.
Impact: The blueliner collected two goals and five assists in 61 games before getting hurt April 1 against the Devils. If Tallinder is able to draw back into the lineup Thursday, expect him to play a depth role on the Sabres' blue line.
Wed. Apr 9, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Stafford (undisclosed) practiced with the team Wednesday, Mike Harrington of the Buffalo News reports.
Impact: Stafford has sat out the last four games with an undisclosed injury, but skated on the top line with Tyler Ennis and Chris Stewart at Wednesday's practice. Although his presence suggests that he might be ready to draw back into the lineup Thursday against the Rangers, Cory Conacher saw some time on the top line as well, so there's no guarantee that Stafford is ready to return.
Wed. Apr 9, 2014 | RotoWire
News: The Sabres reassigned Larsson to AHL Rochester on Wednesday, John Vogl of the Buffalo News reports.
Impact: The winger picked up three assists during his seven-game stint with the Sabres, and now has four assists total in 28 games this season. While he was much more productive during his recent run, Larsson will return to Rochester where he has 15 goals and 24 assists in 45 games on the season.
Wed. Apr 9, 2014 | RotoWire
News: The Sabres reassigned Deslauriers to AHL Rochester on Wednesday, John Vogl of the Buffalo News reports.
Impact: Deslauriers recorded a goal and nine PIM in 16 games with the Sabres after being acquired from the Kings at the trade deadline. He'll return to the AHL, where he racked up 18 goals and 21 assists in 60 games with AHL Manchester before being traded.
Tue. Apr 8, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Hodgson assisted on both of Zemgus Girgensons' goals Tuesday, representing the entirety of the Buffalo offense in a 4-2 loss to the Red Wings.
Impact: That's consecutive two-point games for Hodgson and seven points in his last six contests. The conversion to left wing seems to be going well; almost all that production has come since he was moved off the center position.
Tue. Apr 8, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Girgensons scored both Buffalo goals in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to Detroit.
Impact: The tallies were his first points since returning from a lower-body injury; in fact, he hadn't found the scoresheet since Feb. 28. Still, his 18:11 of ice time in this one -- tops among Sabres forwards -- is worth making note of. Girgensons was described as the team's best forward after the game and will be the team's number two center behind Tyler Ennis going forward, since Cody Hodgson has moved to left wing.
Tue. Apr 8, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Hackett stopped a solid 33 of 36 Tuesday against the Red Wings, but took the loss.
Impact: That's five consecutive losses for Hackett, but he'll likely keep getting the goaltending assignments as the Sabres play out the string in the season's final week. After all, there's no one left standing to take them from him. He had a little scare when a shot went off his head, but Hackett is not expected to miss any time.
Tue. Apr 8, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Stafford (undisclosed) will not play Tuesday against the Red Wings.
Impact: Coach Ted Nolan indicated after morning skate that he's hoping Stafford will be recovered in time to play Thursday against the Rangers. Stafford's absence Tuesday is somewhat offset by the fact that the Sabres will get Chris Stewart and Torrey Mitchell back from injury.
Tue. Apr 8, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Mitchell (undisclosed) will return to the lineup Tuesday against the Red Wings.
Impact: After completing the morning skate with no further complications, Mitchell will be back in the lineup after missing the last two weeks due to injury. Acquired from the Wild at the deadline, Mitchell will draw in on the second line to play his first game in front of Sabres fans at First Niagara Center.
Tue. Apr 8, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Stewart (ankle) will play Tuesday against the Red Wings, Bill Hoppe of the Olean Times Herald reports.
Impact: Expected to miss the rest of the season after suffering the ankle injury two games into his tenure with the Sabres, Stewart decided to push for a return even with Buffalo playing for nothing more than pride at this point. He'll skate on the right wing alongside Tyler Ennis and Marcus Foligno and might be worth picking up in deeper leagues for the final week if he was dropped by a fantasy owner who didn't expect him back before season's end.
Tue. Apr 8, 2014 | STATS
News: Buffalo demoted Adam to AHL Rochester.
Impact: The move came on the same day Buffalo called up defenseman Mark Pysyk and goaltender Andrey Makarov from the minors.
Tue. Apr 8, 2014 | STATS
News: Buffalo recalled up Makarov from the minors to help its injury-depleted roster.
Impact: Makarov takes over the backup spot behind Matt Hackett after Nathan Lieuwen sustained a concussion in a 5-2 loss at Philadelphia on Sunday. He becomes the eighth goalie to dress for the Sabres this season. Makarov has a 3-3 record with AHL Rochester, after opening the season in the ECHL.
Tue. Apr 8, 2014 | STATS
News: Buffalo recalled Pysyk from the minors to help out its injury-depleted roster.
Impact: Pysyk will fill in for Chad Ruhwedel, who also sustained a concussion against the Flyers.
Tue. Apr 8, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Ehrhoff (head) will play Tuesday against the Red Wings.
Impact: Ehrhoff, who took a puck to his right ear Sunday against the Flyers, ended up taking about 40 stitches as a result, but he'll be out there Tuesday for the Sabres, nonetheless.
Tue. Apr 8, 2014 | RotoWire
News: The Sabres have sent Adam to AHL Rochester.
Impact: Adam, who has just one goal in 12 games with the big club to date, returns to Rochester where he has notched a team-high 27 tallies in 53 AHL contests. His demotion coincides with the return of Marcus Foligno to the Buffalo lineup.
Tue. Apr 8, 2014 | RotoWire
News: The Sabres have recalled Pysyk from AHL Rochester.
Impact: Pysyk, who has notched six points and recorded a minus-11 rating in 42 games with the big club to date, will bolster the depleted Buffalo blueline, which took another hit Sunday when Chad Ruhwedel suffered a concussion.
Mon. Apr 7, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Ruhwedel (concussion) will miss the final week of the regular season, ESPN.com reports.
Impact: Ruhwedel's season thus concludes with one assist and a minus-3 rating in 21 games for the Sabres, who continue to be hit hard by the injury bug.
Mon. Apr 7, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Mitchell, who has only played in five games for the Sabres due to an undisclosed injury as well as a previous foot injury, could return to action Tuesday against the Red Wings, the Associated Press reports.
Impact: The Sabres could really use Mitchell back, as they're a banged-up group right now and the extra veteran or two might allow them to at least be competitive the last few games. The other upshot is it would allow Buffalo to restock its AHL affiliate in Rochester, as seemingly half that team is up with the Sabres right now.
Mon. Apr 7, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Weber scored his first goal of the season in Sunday's loss to the Flyers.
Impact: It's hard to imagine many fantasy players benefited from the tally, as Weber's minus-32 rating makes him largely poisonous in most formats. Not even his 197 hits and 143 blocked shots on the season are enough to make up for that kind of plus-minus damage.
Mon. Apr 7, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Hodgson provided a goal and an assist in Sunday's loss to the Flyers.
Impact: The Sabres have dropped four of their last five games, but that can't be pinned on Hodgson. The 24-year-old has contributed three goals and two assists during that span.
Mon. Apr 7, 2014 | STATS
News: Ruhwedel will miss the final week of the season after being diagnosed with a concussion.
Impact: Ruhwedel was hurt in a 5-2 loss at Philadelphia on Sunday.
Mon. Apr 7, 2014 | STATS
News: Lieuwen will miss the final week of the season after being diagnosed with a concussion.
Impact: Lieuwen's injury means the Sabres will have to dress their seventh goalie this season.
Mon. Apr 7, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Ehrhoff (head) will be a game-time decision Tuesday against the Red Wings.
Impact: Ehrhoff took a puck to the right ear Sunday against the Flyers, requiring 40 stitches to repair a gash. While he was fortunate to avoid a concussion, his ear may still be a little sensitive to the touch of a helmet. We'll probably have to wait until pregame warmups to find out his status for Tuesday night's contest.

News: Foligno (lower body) will return Tuesday to play against the Red Wings.
Impact: The Sabres are limping to the finish line with 12 other players on the injury report at the moment, but Foligno's return will provide at least some relief. He was initially projected to miss the rest of the season after sustaining a lower-body injury last Thursday, but felt good while taking part in the team's practice Sunday.

News: Hackett will get the start for the Sabres on Tuesday against the Red Wings, the Buffalo News reports.
Impact: With Nathan Lieuwen concussed, look for the Sabres to call up another goalie to back Hackett up Tuesday. Hackett figures to handle the remaining four starts of the season for the Sabres.

News: Ehrhoff took a puck to the side of his head in Sunday's loss to the Flyers and had to leave the contest, The Buffalo News reports.
Impact: Coach Ted Nolan thinks the injury might be somewhat serious, so consider Ehrhoff a very risky proposition for the final period of weekly leagues. The Sabres remain a MASH unit, and as the NHL's worst team, the season can't end soon enough.

News: Ruhwedel sustained a concussion in Sunday's loss to the Flyers after taking a hit from Philadelphia's Zac Rinaldo, The Buffalo News reports.
Impact: It sounds like his season might be over with only three games left to play, while Rinaldo probably has a meeting on tap with Brendan Shanahan. Ruhwedel had been seeing regular playing time since Alexander Sulzer went down down to injury almost a month ago.

News: Foligno (lower body) skated with his teammates Sunday morning, the Times Herald reports.
Impact: Initially there were fears that Foligno might be lost for the season, but after taking the ice Sunday, it appears as though he could return to action as soon as Tuesday's game against the Red Wings.

News: Stewart (ankle) could return to action as soon as Tuesday against the Red Wings, the Times Herald reports.
Impact: Stewart has been out since March 6 and while there was talk that the Sabres might shut him down for the season, a return for the team's last few games now seems possible.
Apr 6, 2014 | RotoWire
News: The Sabres aren't ruling out a return for Myers (midsection) this season.
Impact: After Sunday, the Sabres will have just four games remaining on the schedule, meaning Myers will really have to ramp up his activity level in the next few days if he hopes to play again this season. The uncertainty of his timetable probably makes him waiver-wire fodder over the season's final week, when having reliably healthy players is paramount.

News: Neuvirth (lower body) is not expected to return this season.
Impact: With Neuvirth making limited progress in his recovery from his lower-body injury, it makes sense for the Sabres to just have him pack it for the season with only a week of action remaining. Matt Hackett and Nathan Lieuwen are expected to handle the goaltending duties for Buffalo the rest of the way.
Apr 6, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Coach Ted Nolan acknowledged that Enroth (leg) is unlikely to return this season.
Impact: With Enroth making limited progress in his recovery from the leg injury he suffered in mid-March, it makes sense for the Sabres to just have him pack it for the season with only a week of action remaining. Matt Hackett and Nathan Lieuwen are expected to handle the goaltending duties for Buffalo the rest of the way.

News: Coach Ted Nolan said on Sunday that Tallinder, who's missed the last two games with a lower-body injury, is expected to need more time off.
Impact: Nolan was talking about forward Drew Stafford being a possibility for Tuesday's game against the Red Wings, then went on to say Tallinder would probably need more time. That means he's out Sunday and likely Tuesday at the very least, giving him just two more chances after that to get back there before the Sabres' miserable season ends.
Apr 6, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Coach Ted Nolan said Stafford, who's missed the last two games with an undisclosed injury, could be a possibility for Tuesday's game against the Red Wings.
Impact: That means Stafford, one of the team's few bright spots lately as the season winds down, will miss a third game Sunday when the Sabres take on the Flyers.

News: Klesla (suspension) cleared unconditional waivers, TSN's Darren Dreger reports.
Impact: Klesla wants to play in Europe, and he'll apparently get his wish. His play declined the last few seasons, so his desire to play elsewhere might have something to do with job security.

News: Deslauriers scored the first goal of his NHL career in Friday's 3-2 loss to Detroit.
Impact: Acquired in a trade from the Kings, Deslauriers switched from defense to forward earlier this season and became an offensive force for the AHL Manchester Monarchs. The Sabres like Deslauriers' size and have given him pretty consistent playing time since his arrival. Though he's not a big offensive contributor yet, that he's starting to score is a good sign for the late bloomer.

News: Hackett allowed three goals on 31 shots in Friday's loss to Detroit, his third-consecutive loss.
Impact: Hackett played admirably to keep the Sabres in the game, but Buffalo has been overmatched of late and its goaltenders are hardly the safest bets on the board. Hackett is seeing time due to injuries in the Buffalo system and could get a few more starts as the season concludes.

News: Tallinder (lower body) will not play in Friday's game against Detroit.
Impact: According to The Buffalo News, Tallinder participated in morning skate but left with an apparent lower-body injury.

News: Foligno (lower body) won't play Friday, but Sabres coach Ted Nolan said that the forward's prognosis is better than the team originally thought.
Impact: Foligno was previously believed to be out for the season, but this opens up the possibility of a return for the last few games.
Fri. Apr 4, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Stafford (undisclosed) will not play Friday, and Sabres coach Ted Nolan said the forward's injury may be worse than the coach originally thought.
Impact: Stafford suffered the injury during Tuesday's game and wasn't able to play Thursday. With the season nearing a conclusion and his injury possibly serious, it won't be surprising if we don't see Stafford again until next season.

News: The Buffalo Sabres have recalled forward Luke Adam from the minors to fill in for injured Marcus Foligno.
Impact: Adam has a goal in 10 games with Buffalo in rejoining the Sabres for the third time this season. He is currently leading the Sabres' AHL affiliate in Rochester with 27 goals in 53 games.
Fri. Apr 4, 2014 | RotoWire
News: The Sabres recalled Adam from AHL Rochester on Friday.
Impact: Adam was brought up to take the roster spot of Marcus Foligno, who will miss the rest of the season after suffering a lower-body injury Thursday night. Adam appeared in 10 games with the Sabres earlier this season and tallied a goal and four PIM.
Fri. Apr 4, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Stafford is unlikely to play Friday against Detroit after getting "banged up" in Tuesday game against the Devils, The Buffalo News reports.
Impact: Stafford missed Thursday's loss to the Blues, so he'll join a long and growing list of wounded Sabres. Luke Adam has been called up from Rochester to provide some help for the big club.
Fri. Apr 4, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Klesla (suspension) has been placed on unconditional waivers, TSN's Darren Dreger reports.
Impact: Klesla has been on the suspended list since failing to report to AHL Rochester after being traded to the Sabres in early March, but the Sabres finally decided to renounce his rights. Klesla has made it clear that he wants to play in Europe, so it remains to be seen if another team will put in a waiver claim for him.
Fri. Apr 4, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Coach Ted Nolan has tabbed Hackett to start Friday's game in Detroit, according to The Buffalo News.
Impact: Good luck to the youngster, as he has a team in front of him that can't score goals and is playing against a playoff team getting its best player back Friday in Pavel Datsyuk. This is essentially another audition for Hackett as the Sabres try to figure out who they'll be using in goal next season.

News: Foligno is dealing with a lower-body injury and will not play again this season, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports.
Impact: Sabres coach Ted Nolan said the injury may not be "too, too serious," but either way, we won't see Foligno again until next season. He finishes 2013-14 with seven goals, 10 assists, 76 shots on goal, one power-play point and three game-winning goals. Oddly enough, Foligno's brother, Nick, also suffered an injury Thursday night.

News: Ennis scored twice in the third period and again in the shootout to lead the Buffalo Sabres to a 3-2 win over the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night.
Impact: Ennis has a career-high 21 goals in his fourth full NHL season. He had 20 in 2010-11.

News: McCabe has given up playing his senior year at Wisconsin by signing a three-year contract with the Buffalo Sabres. The Sabres announced the move on Wednesday, a day after general manager Tim Murray raised the likelihood of signing McCabe. Buffalo selected the 20-year-old in the second round of the 2012 NHL draft.
Impact: McCabe is coming off a season in which he earned first-team Big Ten honors with a career-best 25 points (eight goals, 17 assists) in 33 games. Last year, he was captain of the U.S. team that won the gold medal at the World Junior championships in Russia.

Impact: Deslauriers' status is not known.

News: Grigorenko will play for the Rochester Americans, three months after the first-round pick briefly refused a demotion to junior hockey.
Impact: The 19-year-old Russian began the season in the NHL, but struggled to adapt. He scored two goals in 18 games before being demoted to the Quebec Remparts of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League on Jan. 11. Grigorenko initially refused to report to Quebec, preferring to develop in Rochester of the American Hockey League. An agreement between the NHL and the Canadian Hockey League does not allow teenagers to play in the AHL.
