Impact Sorokin sustained a lower-body injury during Tuesday's game against the Predators, and head coach Patrick Roy said Thursday that the netminder doesn't have a timetable to return. The Islanders have just four games remaining on their regular-season schedule following Thursday's matchup, so it's unclear whether Sorokin will return to game action before the end of the regular season. Marcus Hogberg will likely serve as the Islanders' primary netminder in Sorokin's absence, while Tristan Lennox will be available as a backup.

Ilya Sorokin - Suffering from lower-body injury Coach Patrick Roy said Thursday that Sorokin is out with a lower-body injury, not a back issue, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.
Impact Sorokin is expected to miss Thursday's tilt versus the Rangers. He is 29-23-6 with a 2.77 GAA and a .905 save percentage over 59 appearances this season. Impact Lennox was selected in the third round -- 93rd overall -- in 2021 and suffered a big setback with a major knee injury last season with ECHL Worcester after just 13 games.
