Johnson lived up to the hype in Beijing, helping the team to a second-place finish overall while coming home with individual gold in the balance beam as well as silver medals in the all-around and floor exercise competitions. She'll be looking to get back to the medal stand after some rocky moments following the 2008 Games. Rust may be of particular concern as Johnson gets back to the elite circuit. After taking a break from the sport following her return from China, Johnson suffered a further setback when she tore her ACL, MCL, meniscus and hamstring in a skiing accident in January 2010. While she returned to training four months later, it’s been a slow road back. In her first competition since the Olympics, she struggled in a national championship qualifier in July, finishing out of the top 5 in bars and beam. Johnson petitioned to compete in August’s nationals and was approved. She looked better at the event in Minneapolis, competing in three events. Her highest finish was fourth on the beam. Despite the injury and lack of time in the gym, life post-Beijing has hardly been quiet for Johnson, who won ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" reality competition in 2009 and carried the torch for the 2010 Vancouver Games. Johnson, the 2007 and ’08 U.S. national champion, also narrates a video game for Wii and Nintendo DS helping to "train" gymnasts.
