This week's Southeastern Conference game of the week could go a long way in determining the Western Division Champion as the Alabama Crimson Tide hosts the LSU Tigers.

At press time, Alabama was ranked 3rd in the nation while the Tigers were ranked fourth. But there is a big difference between how these two teams have played this year and LSU will have its work cut out for it in Tuscaloosa. The Tide, led by quarterback Greg McElroy and running back Mark Ingram, has demonstrated that they can score early and often and are averaging 40 points per game. LSU's offense has been inconsistent and the Tigers have been winning ugly while averaging 27 points per game.

Nonetheless, they have managed to get some quality wins against ranked opponents. Both teams have top defenses which means, on paper, Alabama should have a major advantage especially at home where they are especially tough to beat.
