WEBSTER: Who's Hot, Who's Not
by NICK WEBSTER, FOXSports.com
Celtic boss Martin O'Niell's thirst for trophies is unquenchable. His side qualified for the champions league on Tuesday beating Ajax and continued its hot pace in the Scottish Premier league by whipping Hibs 4-1 to stay on top of the shot.
Just over the road at Ibrox, Dick Advocat must be feeling the pressure of the hangman's noose. His expensive side failed once again in Europe and without all that extra money it's imperative that his team catch the green and white hoops.
After last season's disappointment's River Plate are even more determined than ever to reclaim their place atop Argentinean football. They've started the right way and in Martin Cardetti have a goal scorer who is peaking at the right time.
Their deadliest rivals, Boca Jrs., continue to struggle and have now lost two games straight. Belgrano stormed into the Bonbernera while last year's champs San Lorenzo showed that they mean business. Bianchi is scratching his head and wondering when will the wins come.
And finally back to the EPL where the referees are finding the beginning of the season hotter than an oven. The pressure is on them and they seem to be melting in the clutch with a rash of red and yellow cards. The list of early bathers is hitting all-time highs with such names as Gus Poyet, Lee Bowler and Gary Mills. And in explosive fashion bad boys Patrick Vieria and Denis Wise went head to head and both received their marching orders.
