I think sports broadcasting is the best career imaginable. Certainly it's not always beer and skittles but this career is tough to beat. It's allowed me to experience many amazing things and meet many amazing people. I'm not just speaking about people who are publicly famous; there are many amazing people at the grassroots level that made a world of difference. Look around you, I'm sure you can think of someone. Maybe someone is thinking of you in that way.

My family is Portuguese so by nature I support a club from Portugal, but it's not one of the big three. Rather I stick close to my roots and support Sporting Braga. Hey, they've poked their heads into the UEFA Cup on occasion.

Being of European descent a love of soccer is in my blood whether it is playing the game and watching it. I love the English style of match announcing. Most announcers in that country can describe a match in such poetic verse. I think that a match announced well IS a romance language.

Working with the Fox Soccer Report I hear Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese on a daily basis just to name some of many, and there are many, languages we deal with while readying content for the show. And thanks to the wonderful medium of television, I'm also able to see areas of the world that I would some day like to visit ... Maybe even twice!

Recreationally, I've played hockey all my life and have had a few chicklets knocked out of me to prove it. The nose has been broken a couple of times in the process but I think that's obvious. Among the other activities that coaches have told me to consider playing are lacrosse, baseball, basketball, volleyball and lawn darts. I've excelled at individual sports - at least that's what I tell most people!

The athlete that I respect most is cancer survivor and cyclist Lance Armstrong. His achievements are amazing both on the bike and off. He was a heartbeat away from dieing then came back to win the tour de France six times. Lance Armstrong is on this planet for a reason.

I hope you enjoy watching the Fox Soccer Report as much as I like being part of it.

Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to get back to work ...
