FCS To Televise Men's 2006 Paradise Jam
by FOX Sports Net
Set in one of the world's most exotic locations in St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, the 7th annual Paradise Jam will feature eight division I men's basketball teams competing for preseason supremacy while sharpening their skills in preparation for the upcoming season.
Led by Elite eight qualifier Villanova, basketball fans can look forward to the most impressive men's field that the Paradise Jam has ever assembled, with four of the 2006 participants having earned berths to the 2006 NCAA tournament last March. Villanova (28-5), Iowa (25-9), Xavier (21-11), and Alabama (18-13) each competed in the NCAA tournament, while Virginia Commonwealth (19-10), Toledo (20-11), College of Charleston (17-11), and Middle Tennessee State (16-12) round out the eight-team field, making the Paradise Jam one of the most competitive early season tournaments.
FCS will offer live telecasts of the championship game, semifinals, and consolation game of the men's Paradise Jam. Coverage will include two games on Sunday, November 19 at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. ET (semifinal matchups) and two games on Monday, November 20th (3rd place game and championship game) at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. ET.
All games of the U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam Tournament will be played at the University of the Virgin Islands Sports & Fitness Center in St. Thomas. For more information, please visit www.ParadiseJam.com.
