HD Schedule Increases To 37 Games
It's television coverage befitting a World Champion. FSN Midwest, the primary television home of the St. Louis Cardinals, will air more than 850 hours of St. Louis Cardinals programming in 2007, with a centerpiece of 130 live game telecasts. Regular season coverage begins Tuesday, April 3, when the Cardinals host the Mets and receive their World Series rings -- live and in high definition on FSN Midwest.
130 REGULAR SEASON GAMES
FSN Midwest's 14th season of Cardinals baseball features 130 regular season games and two spring training contests, 20 more games than in 2006. Dan McLaughlin and Joe Buck return to call the play-by-play, with Al Hrabosky as analyst for all FSN Midwest telecasts. Cardinals telecasts are produced by Mike Helling and directed by Tom Mee.
FSN Midwest's Cardinals telecasts reach more than 3.3 million cable and satellite subscribers on FSN Midwest, FSN South, SportsSouth or local origination channels in nine states -- Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas and Oklahoma.
37 GAMES IN HD
FSN Midwest is scheduled to televise 37 games in high definition, more than double the number it produced last season (18). HD games are telecast by FSN Midwest in the 720p format. Viewers should contact their cable or satellite provider regarding availability of FSN's HD telecasts.
CARDINALS LIVE PREGAME AND POSTGAME SHOW
FSN Midwest's pregame and postgame show has a new look and a new name: Cardinals Live. The Cardinals Live pregame show starts 30 minutes before each telecast, and the postgame edition goes for approximately one hour after the final out. Pat Parris, Joel Goldberg and Jim Hayes serve as hosts and reporters. Also joining Cardinals Live this season is former St. Louis Cardinals pitcher and current broadcaster Rick Horton, who provides insights during the postgame show. Cardinals legend Mike Shannon returns as a nightly contributor to the pregame show.
On Tuesday, April 3, a special one-hour Cardinals Live begins at 6:00 PM and includes live coverage of the World Series ring ceremony.
