McCarver: "The Four Best Teams Are Representing Both Leagues"
Buck: "It Would Be Insane For the Yankees to Fire Joe Torre"
MCCARVER: INDIANS AND RED SOX ARE THE AL'S BEST Many say that when it comes to the MLB playoffs, the best teams may make it in but it's the hottest teams that move on to the next round. ALCS and World Series on FOX game analyst Tim McCarver thinks this year, the best teams and the hottest teams are one and the same.
"What could be better than this?" said McCarver. "The Indians and Red Sox are the two best teams in the American League. Sometimes the best teams don't advance, but this year they did. In fact, the four best teams and the teams that are playing the best are representing both leagues right now."
JOE SAYS THE BUCK STILL STOPS WITH TORRE Amid much speculation that Yankees manager Joe Torre may not be retained by the team he has managed for the last 12 seasons, MLB on FOX lead play-by-play announcer Joe Buck says any speculation should cease.
"Joe Torre has done nothing but great work since the day he got the job," said Buck. "People doubted him from the second he was named the manager, and he has taken his team to the postseason every year he has been there. Ironically, this year was his best managerial job ever because of what he accomplished with a team that had every reason to lay down and die in the middle of the season. That doesn't happen with someone who can't manage, and if this team wants to retain some of its best players, I think bringing Joe Torre back is the first big step in that cause. Not to mention, he has always been a great buffer between the players and the media in New York, which cannot be overlooked. It would be insane for the Yankees to fire Joe Torre."

JIMMY SAYS JASON IS THE REAL DEAL One of the major keys to the Washington Redskins' strong start and 3-1 record has been the impressive play of third-year quarterback Jason Campbell. Following Campbell's 248-yard, two-touchdown performance in a victory over the Lions last week, Jimmy Johnson offered the following: "I don't know if any of us expected this young quarterback to play as well as he's played," said Johnson. "He is displaying poise and has made all the throws. He's got mobility. I am really, really impressed with him."
