FOX Sports' Allstate BCS Selection Show
by FOX Sports
"College football fans have been on the edge of their seats all season long and there's no better way to see who plays who in January than on network television in prime time on a Sunday night following a big day of NFL coverage," said FOX Sports President Ed Goren. "As we learned last year, the ALLSTATE BCS SELECTION SHOW is a huge draw among the nation's sports fans, and FOX treats these announcements with the high level of attention they deserve."
BCS on FOX host Chris Rose anchors the ALLSTATE BCS SELECTION SHOW, and is joined in FOX Sports' Los Angeles studio by Allstate Sugar Bowl and Allstate BCS National Championship Game analyst Charles Davis, as well as two National Championship-winning coaches in Barry Switzer and Jimmy Johnson. Reporters Chris Myers, Jeanne Zelasko, Thom Brennaman and Laura Okmin contribute live interviews from BCS-bound college campuses and other key locations around the country.
Last season, FOX Sports' first ALLSTATE BCS SELECTION SHOW earned outstanding audience figures in both rating and viewership. The show posted an all-time high 13.3 million viewers with an 8.4/13 national rating/share, up +394% over the 2005 presentation on ABC.
The BCS was established to determine the national champion for college football while maintaining and enhancing the bowl system that is nearly 100 years old. The BCS has become a showcase for the sport, matching the best teams at the end of the season. In November 2004, FOX Sports and the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) reached an exclusive four-year agreement covering all media distribution and sponsorship rights for the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, FedEx Orange Bowl and Allstate Sugar Bowl from 2007 through 2010, as well as the Allstate BCS National Championship Game from 2007 through 2009. In addition, FOX Sports also continues as the exclusive broadcast home to the prestigious Cotton Bowl through 2010.
