The PACIFIC LIFE PAC-10 TOURNAMENT has seen four different teams win the title over the last four seasons and 2007 Oregon is a longshot to repeat. Now it's likely a fifth team will win in five seasons.
Nationally ranked No. 3 UCLA Bruins head into the tournament as the conference's top seed and the aggressive defensive team led by super-frosh Kevin Love is looking to clinch not only the Pacific Life Pac-10 Tournament title, but a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
First round action gets underway from STAPLES Center in Los Angeles on Wednesday, March 12.
But before the Pac-10 gets started, tune in to the PHILLIPS 66 BIG 12 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP. With five of the top-25 teams in the country aiming to cut down the nets, led by tournament top seed Kansas State, the Big 12 women promise tight, competitive games with buzzer-beater outcomes. Of the previous six tournament champions, three have made it to the NCAA Final Four. Big 12 games start at 1 p.m. EST/10 a.m. PST with No. 1 Kansas State taking on No. 8 Iowa State.

SPORT SCIENCE
SPORT SCIENCE is back with a vengeance and mainstream and online critics alike are again lining up to praise the newest episodes. "What a show. It has everything you could want…One of my favorite shows," wrote Jerry Greene in the Orlando Sentinel. "The best new sports show I've seen in awhile," said the folks at popular media blog, awfulannouncing.com. These critics are just continuing a line of thought that has seen the show called "mind-boggling" (Akron Beacon Journal) and "the coolest show on television" (WBZZ-Tampa Bay).
But if you thought the first seven episodes were great, you ain't seen nothing yet.
SPORT SCIENCE returns on Sunday, March 16 at 9 p.m. with the first of six new episodes that take a scientific look at everything from once-in-a-generation plays to the worst sports injuries ever suffered; examining the gear players wear and determining if it protects as well as it should. Plus, this time around, SPORT SCIENCE gives a definitive answer to the question: "What's the hardest thing to do in sports?"
In this week's episode, Field Warriors, host John Brenkus and his team of scientists examine the most dramatic injuries ever suffered in sporting events and get first-person accounts of the athletes who survived the gruesome injuries. Testing pain, empathy, blood flow and broken bones, this episode also showcases an analysis of the horrific wound suffered by goalie Clint Malarchuk, whose jugular vein was slashed by a skate as well as offering up a scientific look at how jockey Julie Krone managed to survive getting trampled by a horse. Special guests: Malarchuk, MMA star Bas Rutten, Dolphins LB Joey Porter and Hall of Fame jockey Krone.
The one-hour show airs every Sunday nights at 9 p.m. local.
