The Canadian Football League debuts this week for a summer of football action played in a wide open style.

Throughout the season, FOX Sports features two games per week from this eight-team league that culminates with the championship Grey Cup. The CFL is the second most popular sport in Canada only behind the NHL and has produced a number of star players including NFL Hall of Fame quarterback, Warren Moon, and Doug Flutie.

This season kicks off with last year's champion, the Saskatchewan Roughriders, hosting the Edmonton Eskimos. The Roughriders will be playing with a new quarterback and new coach this season as last year's quarterback and league MVP, Kerry Joseph, is now with the Toronto Argonauts. Marcus Crandell takes over at quarterback and there will be pressure early for him to step in and take control.

The Eskimos are looking to rebound from a season that saw them miss the playoffs. Last year, starting quarterback Ricky Ray suffered a shoulder separation that kept him out of the last half of the season. Ray should be back and this former Grey Cup MVP (2005) should be a difference maker.

Tune in all summer long for this very different brand of past paced football.
