by Sports Xchange
FIRST LINE: Ryan Smyth, Anze Kopitar, Justin Williams.
SECOND LINE: Scott Parse, Jarret Stoll, Dustin Brown.
THIRD LINE: Alexander Frolov, Michal Handzus, Wayne Simmonds.
FOURTH LINE: Raitis Ivanans, Brad Richardson, Teddy Purcell.
PLAYER NOTES:
--G Jonathan Quick started his 10th consecutive game and allowed two goals on 21 shots, but made a handful of acrobatic saves that kept the Kings in the game. Quick is expected to start when the Kings host Nashville on Saturday afternoon.
--C Anze Kopitar scored a first-period goal to extend his lead in the NHL points-scoring race. Kopitar has 13 goals and 26 points, two more than Washington's Alexander Ovechkin, who is out with what is believed to be a minor injury. Last season, Kopitar didn't score goal No. 13 until his 50th game. He did it in his 16th game this time.
--LW Alexander Frolov missed practice on Tuesday with a sore hip flexor, but Frolov played Thursday and rejoined a line with C Michal Handzus and RW Wayne Simmonds, the same line that started the season as the Kings' defensive "stopper" line.
MEDICAL WATCH:
--D Alec Martinez missed a 15th consecutive game because of a high ankle sprain. Martinez was put on injured reserve Thursday and no timetable has been set for his return.
